We have been happily using a wood burning pizza oven from Costco (looks like an Alfa copycat) for three years now, and we need an upgrade. There’s nowhere to get parts or service and ours is rusting etc.

So we went to our local bbq shop and they had a couple options but very little. I don’t want to buy the first thing that’s presented to me unless is the right thing.

What we are looking for:
Outdoor
Wood firing
Freestanding or has a stand
Good temp gauges
Good stones inside
Budget: around $3000

My brother in law has a sports gambling problem. He’s been doing his for years. About 8 yrs ago he lost 50k on a bet and was afraid his wife would find out so he got bailed out by his parents secretly. No matter what happens he somehow manages to keep hiding what he’s doing.

I feel very uncomfortable that we all know about this but don’t tell Jenny.

If I were to tell her, I would be totally disowned by the family and that’s not a dynamic that I can live with (it would likely cost me my marriage).

Thoughts? Ideas?

I have a teapot that I bought off a friend who ended up betraying me. I would like to destroy is thing so that it is gone forever. I don’t want archeologists digging it up in 1000 years thinking it’s something special.

I don’t have access to a tall building where I can drop it safely to smash it. It’s very thick (she’s an amateur) so it would be VERY hard to smash with a hammer—sort of like trying to smash a toilet, that’s how thick it is.

I wish I knew someone with a steam roller.

Any ideas?

So I am a member at a pottery guild. I don’t want to get into the weeds here, but basically I have been a major contributor to this guild for a few years now, giving tons of energy and time, some paid and some not. I always go above and beyond.

I recently told one of the board members that I was considering joining the board. They hastily told me not to ‘because you’d hate it’. But then later a friend who’s on the board told me that in fact, 1 or 2 board members hate me and don’t want me on the board.

(I am known for being a rabble rouser, because I went to school for ceramics and sometimes I will make suggestions on how we could do things safer or cheaper, and some people apparently feel threatened by this. )

Anyway, I haven’t actually been told to my face that they don’t like me, and there is nothing in the rules that says they can veto me. If you want to be on the board, you can always join.

So I kinda want to nominate myself just to be a fucker. Also, I could really make a lot of difference if I was on the board, which I’d also enjoy. But my sister says I’m just gonna end up in a nightmare where my energy gets sucked up in passive aggression and mean girl shit.

What do I do? I feel like the ULPT is to nominate myself just to ‘out’ the haters and then even if I get in, just leave right after.

Other option: stop offering extra help and just take advantage of my membership and just take care of myself.

Our family is plagued by lactose intolerance and celiac. I’m working on our 72 hr survival kits and wondering if people have leads on good survival food. It would help if it was stuff that doesn’t require a sh-t ton of water (or rice and pasta).

We live on a residential street in a village that sits on the edge of a real city. The roads are wide and the people think it’s the Wild West, so we get a lot of wild speeding. I’m talking double the actual normal speed. I’m looking for ways to:
-dissuade speeders without getting sued or arrested
- record plates because they’re too fast for me to catch visually
-record speeds so I can petition for a speed bump

I’m in Canada so if you have links that’s great but sometimes we can’t get all the same things here that you get in places like the USA.

My sister got her booster this month and ended up with pericarditis, confirmed to be vaccine related. Does anyone know if this precludes her from getting more boosters? Can she at least get a different type (ie novavax)?

Horrid neighbour has been harassing me for months because I reported her for leaving her poor dog to howl in the yard for hours. She has a business on G00gle maps that I can see. How can I get a bunch of negative reviews put on there? If not this: how else can I exact some anonymous revenge that’s mischievious but not too harmful?

The Unrefined Olive used to carry this amazing balsamic vinegar called Estilo Affinato di Modena. Very thick and very aged. The people who bought her shop discontinued it. Looking for something similar elsewhere, ideally in the west end.

My favourite scent of all time is Clinique Happy but it now gives me a migraine :( I can only wear really naturally derived scents. Anyone know something that has that happy citrus scent?

My endo is very cyclical with horrid period pain. I’ve noticed in the last couple years that my vision worsens at the same time: a lot of fuzzy, even ‘milky’ vision when I’m on my period. Anyone else?

I am seeking a large air filter that can filter 600 sq ft but it cannot cause a blowing action. This is for a ceramics studio and blowing air around releases dangerous silica dust. Any suggestions?
