Using real name as DJ/producer alias when others already have it in different genres?

Hey everyone!

My real name is Stefan and I am thinking about using it as my artist name for DJing and producing electronic music. I checked Spotify and Beatport and found a few artists using just my first name in completely different genres, as well as electronic music artists who use my first name with a surname added. Since no electronic act uses my first name alone, I would love to know if keeping my real name is a good idea, or if having this name overlap will cause confusion, streaming, or branding issues I might run into, or if I should just look for a unique alias instead.

Thanks

Meta not working with Make despite full access

Hello,

I’m trying to connect Meta Lead Ads to Make so new leads can be sent to our CRM. I have full access to the Business Portfolio and the Page, but I still can’t access the leads.

When I check my permissions, everything is enabled except “Leads,” which is greyed out and says:

>“A partner shared this asset with your business and assigned specific permissions. You can only use the permissions they've assigned. For additional permissions, request them by contacting the partner business who owns the asset.”

There are seven profiles with full Page access, but none of them can assign Leads Access.

Make can find the Page and the instant forms, but when I send a test lead, I get this error:

>“The run couldn't be completed [400] Unsupported get request. Object with ID ‘xxxxx’ does not exist, cannot be loaded due to missing permissions, or does not support this operation. (100, GraphMethodException)”

Meta says we need to assign my profile and Make under Leads Access, but when we try, it says:

>“You cannot create leads access for Pages that are not owned by your business.”

We have tested every profile listed under People with full access, but none of them can modify Leads Access.

Could the Page be owned by another Business Portfolio that is not visible in the People list? How can we identify the actual owner and get Leads Access enabled?

Thanks

Advice: DJing for a 5k running club

Hey!

I've just been offered to DJ at an event for one of the biggest Running Clubs in my city, with about 200 people. The format is quite peculiar: I'll be DJing from a moving car while the crowd runs right behind it. It's an incredible opportunity because it's my first time playing for such a large crowd, but the schedule is a challenge. It's a 5 km run in total, divided into two parts: 2.5 km out, a pause to watch the sunrise, and 2.5 km back. This means that each actual running leg will only last between 10 and 15 minutes.

My main dilemma is the track selection. I asked them for references of what they usually listen to, and they sent me a 300-song playlist that is an absolute mix of R&B, hip hop, reggaeton, dembow, bachata, EDM, and Afrobeat. I get the feeling that they normally run with a speaker on shuffle so everyone hears at least one track in their preferred style. I, on the other hand, usually play Afro House, House, and Tech House. I want to offer them a real, seamless musical experience that's different from a simple Spotify playlist, but without falling into the ego trap of imposing my style and completely ignoring what they like.

My initial idea is to structure the set by adapting to the route. I was thinking of starting the first leg with some varied House, adding funk touches or Brazilian influences to give them that energetic rhythm they need to get going. During the stop to watch the sunrise, the idea is to transition into a more melodic Afro House or Deep House to match the sunrise vibe. Finally, for the way back, I would crank up the intensity, leaning straight into Tech House and a punchier Afro House.

Even so, I have doubts about the technical execution in such an express format. Since I only have 10 to 15 minutes per leg, I'm not sure how to handle the mixing for runners. I don't know if it's better to do super-fast transitions to fit in as many songs as possible and keep their attention, or if I should plan for normal mixes knowing that only five or six tracks will play in each phase. I would love to know how you guys would approach a set like this to connect with a commercial crowd while maintaining your electronic identity, and how you would manage the energy and mixing times in such short stints.

TL;DR: I'm DJing from a moving car for a Running Club (200 people) in two short 10-15 minute legs. Their playlist is super commercial (R&B, reggaeton, EDM, bachata), but I play Afro/Tech House. I'm looking for advice on how to adapt my style so they enjoy it without losing my electronic identity, and how to manage the mixing.

Thanks!

Numark Mixstream Pro Go not showing Rekordbox cues and comments

Hey everyone!

I just got a Numark Mixstream Pro Go and plugged in my Rekordbox 7 USB, but I'm running into a couple of annoying issues. Right now, the only cue point that shows up is the auto cue at the very end of my songs. All my other standard cues (not hot cues) are completely missing. On top of that, I can't seem to view the comments for any of the tracks. Has anyone else experienced this or know if there's a specific setting I need to tweak to get my cues and comments to load properly?

Does anyone here spin with IEMs? Looking for upgrade recommendations!

Hey guys!

Do any of you use IEMs instead of traditional headphones in the booth? I usually spin with Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, but with this heat, it's becoming impossible to wear them. I’m looking for an IEM with a similar sound quality and punch.

I play mostly Afro House, House, and Indie Dance. It would be cool if they also double for some music production, not crucial.

DJ sets: Action 5 Pro vs Action 6

Hey

I’m looking to upgrade my camera setup for recording DJ sets, mostly for YouTube, with the option to cut shorter clips for social media afterwards.

Right now I’m between the DJI Action 5 Pro(280€) and the DJI Action 6(380€).

My recordings are usually during the day or around sunset, but I do film at night. I know the Action 6 has better low-light performance, which could be useful, although I could also add a small light if needed.

The other thing that interests me is being able to use the same shot for both horizontal and vertical content. That sounds very useful, but I’m not sure if it’s worth paying 100€ extra for my use case.

Would you go for the Action 6, or is the Action 5 Pro already good enough for filming DJ sets? The money saved could go towards SD cards, mounts or other accessories.

Thanks

DJI Action 5 Pro vs Action 6 for recording DJ sets

Hey!

I’m a DJ and I want to buy an action camera mainly to record my sets for YouTube, but also to reuse clips for Instagram, TikTok and other social media.

I’m deciding between the DJI Action 5 Pro(280€) and the Action 6(380€).

Most of my sets are recorded during the day or in the afternoon, but sometimes I record at night. I know the Action 6 is supposed to be much better in low light, and I also like the idea of being able to get both horizontal and vertical content from the same shot.

My question is: for this kind of DJ content, is the Action 6 really worth the extra 100€, or would the Action 5 Pro already be enough?

With the 100€ difference, I could buy memory cards, accessories, or just use my phone as a second angle when needed.

Thanks

Should I manage Google Ads for a real estate client?

Hey!

I recently built a fairly complex website for a client who buys buildings, renovates the apartments, and then sells them.

He currently has an agency managing his ads, but he’s not happy. He’s spending around 750€/month on Meta Ads, not running Google Ads, and says he’s not getting leads. He also pays around 175€–225€/month for management and feels like they just set up the campaign and barely touch it afterwards.

Since he trusts me, he asked if I could manage Google Ads for him. I’m a developer, I understand the basics of Ads, I’m used to analyzing data, and I’m willing to learn it properly, but I don’t have real experience managing campaigns.

The goal would be to find buyers for properties on one specific island, targeting people with higher purchasing power. He was told that doctors or similar profiles might be a good audience.

My question is: does it make sense for me to take this on? How many hours per month would an account like this usually require if done properly? And what would be a reasonable monthly fee to manage Google Ads with a budget of around 750€-1,500€/month?

Thanks
