Carlos x Carlaza from Rousseau plant care out of Atlanta.
Tissue culture, 16 months old, 12 hours under 350ppfd light. One of my favorite aurea plants.
I know people have trouble with them browning, but if you keep it on the dryer side and give it good light, it stays pretty solid.
I have a bunch of these in different colors and they always play with light in unique ways with every new leaf.
Had a batch of 50 forgetii TC I was acclimating and 2 of them are now showing variegation! The aurea one is 👌🏻. This is a first time I’ve had anthurium TC do this so that was exciting.
First time I’ve gotten two perfect leaves in a row from this plant. Purple Yurple x bwm
NY Hudson Valley, 6B. Been two years since I put in this garden and it really filled in! It’s probably 85% native by biomass. Most of my trees are pendulous and fastigiate cultivars and is just what I like to collect.
I am in the process of putting in a new ~10,000 sqft section and will plant this September. Experimenting more with creating large berms and leaning into hardscape work with the help of the tractor.
I live on an old farm property and have been converting sections near the house into mostly native gardens. This was the first section I put in after buying the house. I just doubled the size of the garden and put in ~700 plugs in May and will probably add another 10,000 sqft of garden this fall and spring.
Can’t wait to show off the progress for the new gardens next summer! It’s been so much fun learning along the way.
Zone 6b, Hudson Valley NY
My land is an old farm surrounded by forest, and I wanted to turn the already cleared fields mostly into native gardens. This part of the garden was planted in September 2024, primarily with plugs from native nurseries.
I’m tripling the size of the garden this summer/fall and will be excited to share the progress. Next year I’m tackling a 2 acre field to create a tall meadow habitat that is in a low spot near the road. This is just a hobby for me as I’m more of a tropical indoor plant grower, so I’m learning a lot along the way.

Just bought this baby and very excited to make it my first (non blister) variegated anthurium in my collection.
