What are reasons to why Columbus is a great city to live?
Visited once quickly but didn’t do much. Would like to visit again and who knows, maybe live there some time. What’s it like?

Was it an easy adjustment? Pros and cons? Not for everyone? Plenty of opportunities/things to do?
I feel like sweet potatoes used to be $2.99 or $3.99 a pound. Now they are $4.99 a pound. And that is at DONKI.
Anyone know how much they cost stateside?
Do people sometimes switch jobs even if not done with their first year with the agency?
I ask as I’m almost half way and I’ve come to realize that I don’t have much interest in the projects available here.
So, after I switched from SAVE plan to RAP, I received a psd document saying that this plan is only for a year?
Does that mean I have to reapply every year?
Can you tell me what are some other GS-7 positions one can look out for when it comes to working on the plant and animal side.
What types of positions would these be? Technician? Biologist? Team lead? Supervisors? Admin?
Are there specific latter positions to try and go for?
Anyone know who to contact to get more info on taking specific classes that are required by a job?
I already have a degree but looking at a future job that requires me to have x amount of credits in one area. So I likely will just need 2-3 courses or a certification course if available.
You have 3 years to live in three different places around the country to see where you really enjoy before settling, or to just have fun. Each year is a new place, different part of the country, and change of climate.
Where are you moving to each year and why?
(USA)
I want to learn more about the history of particular places in Latin America and how such civilizations came to rise and fall.
I’m interested in ancient constructions and civilizations of lost empires. Everything from Mexico down to Argentina.
Are there any particular book titles you could recommend me?
I’d be more interested to hear about NC. I hear it’s an often overlooked part of the south.
Can someone give me some advice on how to qualify for a wildlife biologist position? What do I need to do to obtain the extra prerequisites?
According to the 0486 Wildlife Biology Series:
With education, I complete the 9 credits of wildlife and 12 credits of zoology. Apparently some of my classes weren’t above the >50% threshold to fulfill the botany credits. I basically lack 9 semester hours of Botany.
I also have almost 2 years of experience working strictly with plants and animals. Working in nurseries, out planting, seed collecting, doing forest surveys, and some others.
If you have any information to understand the process better, that’d be great! Thank you!
I’m seeing a lot of job vacancies going out. Is this usual for this time of the year?
Also, how do you know what the start date is for a specific position if it only says open and closing date?
How does one go about building a desktop setup here?
What’re the options on island? Better to buy online?
I’m wondering if almost all states have field jobs and if particular ones have a greater number of them?
Asking in regards to future work - most likely with the APHIS division
In your opinion, which felt stronger and did more damage?
Include the part of the island you are referring to.
Since we’ll all be actively checking social media until the power cuts, let’s discuss.
Name your 3 go-to food items for the next 3+ days.
Can someone clarify with more up-to-date info on base access for those who are federal civilians living and working in Guam (DoD & Non-DoD)?
What do such employees have access to if they hold a CAC and often frequent the base as a work site?
I heard that even some contractors (with DBIDS) are allowed to go into shoppette and NEX for quick food/snacks/drinks.
It’s a little confusing when people say different things and the trusted traveler program being in place
Want to move back to the states but can’t figure out where to go. Need to secure a job first (natural resources, conservation, environmental science, etc). I’m use to northeast and southeast but don’t know much else from there.
Where do you recommend with mild winters, enjoyable summers, and lots of things to do for those in their 30s?
My partner and I relocated half way across the globe to their parents’ house for a couple reasons:
Now, it’s been 3 years living in a house that isn’t ours. It’s nice as we are able to save 50% of our earnings, but it’s just not ideal anymore now that we are in our 30s. The island has no potential, very secluded, and our living situation is limited. I want to have more space, be able to buy/build things, grow a garden, have access to more things to do, more affordability, etc. I don’t like being stuck and not being able to get in the car and drive for hours. Can only take a plane to nearby countries which cost more than flying across the US or Europe.
I recently took a federal job 3 months ago as the job market here is terrible with majority of jobs paying less than $15. The pay and positions are limited. My job duties are tedious and lack the use of my skills and capabilities. I’d prefer to transfer or just take a better job elsewhere.
My partner has a very specific beauty work service job that can pay very well. My partners’ parents aren’t as outgoing and fun as they were when we first moved here, plus they can be very controlling of how we share the same space. We now have pet cats. Life has become very mundane. Wake up, go to work, come home, watch tv, go to bed. It’s not something I can continue to live. If I do, I’m afraid I will explode.
Not only do we want to relocate, but so do my partners parents. It’s more difficult for them as they have a house, 20+ years worth of stuff, 4 cars, a business, and 4 pets. They talk about moving but never actually make a step towards it. I think they will move eventually but it might take another 5 years. I cannot wait one more year. I think living on a remote island makes it 10x more difficult, plus having a federal job.
So, I’m here asking you all how you did it? How did you make that initial leap?
Anyone know where one can buy film cameras other than C-41? I’ve bought from there but looking for wider range.
Seems that a lot on eBay won’t ship to Guam. Any particular sites ship to Guam?
