I’ve thought a lot of the logistics of time travel and what it would entail and it sounds like such a giant pain in the ass. Even if was possible, you would likely get exterminated/imprisoned immediately. The problems (I’m going to ignore the Marty McFly thing with him not existing because he changed the past):

1. Our galaxy and solar system is traveling faster than the speed of light. You zap back in time where are you going to end up, in the middle of space? I don’t know.
2. The second you step out of your Time Machine you’re broke. Your cash from the future is worthless. You’d have to travel with a shit ton of gold. If you make a huge bet/win a lottery you know the number of everyone will speculate you cheated and you won’t have an identity.
3. You’ll need to steal someone’s identity. That means you’ll probably need to murder someone.
4. You need a phd in Linguistics. Let’s say you figure it all out. You have an identity, you have cash, you STILL don’t know how to speak. Want to go to the colosseum and see a gladiator fight? Do you know Latin and or whatever dialect the ancient Roman commoners spoke? You wouldn’t be able to even hold a conversation with someone in Elizabethan England. Most of these places would burn you because they think you’re a spy or a witch.
5. If you’re able to travel in time, it’s guaranteed the government has a time traveling unit of the CIA that tries to shut down time traveling for the obvious implications. You’ll be hunted everyday until they find you.
6. Diseases. You’ll get them, you’ll spread them, and you probably won’t be able to procure the proper treatment in time to save yourself. You want to risk getting the plague or syphilis? I wouldn’t. You want to risk getting sick and having some quack blood let you?

Edit- point 1: I didn’t look it up. You’re right the galaxy is moving at a speed much less than the speed of light. Point is that it’s still moving and you’d end up somewhere in space. Now you’re adding in a space commute and landing a space ship without getting caught. Then you have to hide the space ship. Should be easier to fly one around and not be as detected as you are now, but another wrinkle and huge thing to factor in.

I had a click of friends in the city I live in that I made from a local social volleyball league. I also met my BP girlfriend through there. Months after we started dating she began throwing fits about some of the girls in my group. Slowly I distanced myself from them while trying to at least remain cordial friends with them. Another girl in our group invited my girlfriend out for a night with the girls. Of course, she also invited the girls she feels threatened by. She came back home and gaslit me into believing they were all talking shit about me and got me to confess to maintaining a limited line of contact with this girl. So began a weekend long episode. I was extremely angry at the girls at first. The more time that passed, I found out they didn’t say those things about me, but it was too late. None of them want to deal with me anymore. Now I lost my friends and my relationship and had to deal with the trauma of another episode. I’m pretty depressed, not gonna lie.
