Update on adhering foam to spandex/nylon/gymwear

After MUCH fooling around to get eva foam to stick to a spandex/nylon blend piece of gymwear I finally hopefully have found a solution.

As long as you’re not going to reuse the piece in question.
Stretch it out over an object, then rough up the surface with some sand paper. Then, prepare your contact cement(weldwood) on your foam - I’ve found putting a good amount of it works well. Once it’s tacky, place it on and hold it for a few minutes. Then leave it alone for a while. I waited about an hour before inspecting it. After a bunch of stress testing the object it’s still on there :).

3m max strength also works but is quite messy. But if trace out and caaarefully spray, it’s done very well holding.

Toronto cosplayers without a workspace! Where do you go to craft?

Going to cross post this to AskTO as well.

I’ve been wanting to elevate some of my cosplays by doing dremel and sanding work, but I live in a condo and can’t risk doing any of that in a small space. I would try my balcony with a dust box but I don’t want loose particles being sucked into my ventilation(there’s a large vent that takes in air x.x)

Does anyone know of any community work spaces one can do this in?

How would you go about creating this face from E33 (spoilers incase you haven’t beaten the game)

Looking to creating this cosplay, as well as the outfit, for FanExpo with goals to have Ben Star and Jennifer English for a photo x.x. The outfit is something I can attempt to piece together…. But I’m at a loss how to go about the face. Would I like…. Have to cast my face to create a mask and attach pieces to it? Or paper mache ?

How do I deal with this many ingrowns post nair/epilation…

3 weeks ago I used nair on my legs and had NO INGROWNS at all. Legs were very smooth, pearly looking, all that jazz. Post Nair, I was doing all the things; Cereve SA cleansers every few days, fragrance-free wash, pat drying, using fresh towels, and of course moisturizing.

Fast forward to 5 days ago I decided to try epilating. I had been preparing my skin the week before using a similar regime to my post nair day. I did the thing, it hurt. A lot, but over all was fine.

My skin though didn’t look as pearly as when I naired, and though smooth… felt bumpy. As I looked around legs I saw SO many ingrowns, more than I had ever had before when using nair. Some were/are reddish but painless. Now 5 days later doing the same skin care; cleansing leg was, SA cleanser, gentle exfoliating cloth - only some of the ingrowns are coming out and some hairs are already growing back : o

How do I deal with these many ingrowns? When should I epilate next to address the regrowing hairs? How best can I take care of my legs to address some of the redness? How can I make it feel less bumpy or more pearly like when I used Nair? It feels like I’ve “really done it now”…

Anyone else going it alone at pride tonight?

Hey all! I’ll be going to pride events tonight by myself(friends and partner abandoned me). Just wondering if there’s any other soloers going out tonight and if there’s anything to do

What to do as a solo goer tonight?

Hey all, just wondering what’s there to do for a solo person going downtown for pride night. I know it’s quite jam packed and difficult for people by themselves.

Are there any queer friendly gaymer spaces for shy beans?

35m/nb, very shy bean. Big video gamer(love all FF games, XIV), anime/tv watcher, TTRPGer, and convention cos/crossplayer. I like dressing a little androgynous in my day to day and want to make friends who can help bring that out more. I've been struggling to try and make friends, particularly in queer and gaymer-esc spaces.. but it feels like some of the events I’ve been to are setup for hooking up or im put in positions of being “chased” or being sexualized. I know Toronto Gaymers exists but it's usually a few times a month and for like.. MTG or the regular boardgames(which is nice). Anyone have some recommends along the Yonge line/Yonge-Bayview Sheppard area?

Are there any groups or events that are more gaymer/femme friendly focused?

Struggling to find friends, especially as someone who identifies as both these things. I've tried going to some events or places downtown, but I usually get put in the femme, target, or chased category x.x. Home base is usually the Yonge line/Bayview and Sheppard area for me .

Thanks everyone for being so uplifting

I was the Nicholas D. Wolfwood STRUGGLING, with the near obnoxiously large cross you saw carrying around and blocking walkways for the last 5 hours xD (to which I am so sorry haha).

First, I want to give a massive shout out to the cosplayer who handwrote, rolled, and ribboned what looked like hundreds of little notes with words of kindness and encouragement, and was going around handing them to people after chatting with them. You have such a big heart that deserves recognition.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took the time to express their appreciation for my cosplay. Truly I wasn't expecting so many people to take a piece of their day to chat with me, ask questions, or ask for photos.. I was really humbled by it. I left the con feeling a bit emotional knowing that in some small ways I was helping make peoples day a little better. So, thank you all for being and making my day amazing, I hope you all had as much of a blast at Anime North 2026 ^^.
