Confused about barrel threads - Suppressor Use & Tri-Lug

Confused about barrel threads - Suppressor Use & Tri-Lug

Hey guys. I just bought my first CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1 (used). I want to use my Omega 9k with it by using a 3-lug adapter. There seems to be all kinds of misinformation and dead links on every forum I visit when trying to see what 3-lug adapter will work with this weird double thread pattern.

I think this barrel has 1/2x28 threads with 18x1 threads below it. I've seen a lot of links to HB Industries and In Lead We Trust - but all the links are dead and the new products I've seen do not seem list that they are capable of seating flat and flush without the traditional barrel shoulder.

Can anyone provide some insight on current recommendations? Thank you!

New Order - 3 Month Discount or 3 Months of Starter Dose?

Hi all - I have a quick question as my girlfriend and I are both planning to start a medication assisted weight-loss journey.

GimmieCare has options for a 3-month discounted rate. If I am just starting and I order a 3 month supply - do they understand that and ship higher concentrations/more medication as time goes on to ensure I can up my dosage? Or am I ordering 3 months of the starter dose only?

Thanks!

Starting A New Prescription - Ordering 3 or 6 Month Supply?

Hi all - I have a quick question as my girlfriend and I are both planning to start a medication assisted weight-loss journey.

Specifically, she has been looking at Amble for Compounded Sema. They have a 6-month plan @ $135/month. However, being that she is just starting - is Amble going to ship her 6 months of the starter dose? Or does Amble account for that and ship higher concentrations/more medication as time goes on to ensure she can up her dosage?

Thanks!

SCAR - No replacement stocks anymore?

Serious question -

I can't seem to source a FDE UGG boot stock at all. I've been on waiting lists for months and checking Gunbroker weekly waiting for my chance to overpay by over 2x MSRP for one. Does FN not make these available for purchase anymore?

What are folks doing about their 15P SBRs? I'm a bit weary of a KDG stock given the steel hinge.

Struggling To Find a Reliable Mower That Fits in my Shed.

Hi all - I live in New Hampshire and have ~0.75 acres of mostly flat yard that I need to mow.

My biggest limitation at this time is that I do not have a garage and my shed has a door opening of 48" and a depth of 74". Most of the 42" tractors I saw at my local big box stores wind up at a width of 48" with the side discharge chute held up.

After driving around a bit, I found a few local options that could fit. Coming in at around ~47.25" with the side discharge chute removed.

Mower Brand Model Width (chute removed) Engine/Cylinders Transmission Cost
Cub Cadet XT1 LT42 47.25" IntelliPower/1 TL-200 $2300
Craftsman T2200k 47" Kohler/2 TL-200 $2500
John Deere S130 47.9" Briggs & Stratton /2 TL-200 $3000
Husqvarna TS 140X (42" deck) 46" Briggs & Stratton /2 TL-200 $2600 +shipping

To answer some questions and contributing factors up front:

  1. I cannot build a bigger shed or change the door. I'm lucky enough to have a grandfathered shed alongside my fence line now. My town's zoning ordinances and set back requirements are insane and I would have to put it near the center of my yard to meet the set back requirements without a variance.
  2. I can't build a lean-to or car port due to town ordinances.
  3. I can't afford to build an addition or free standing garage at this time.
  4. My local Ace Hardware has an attached small engine repair shop that does offer repairs for MTD equipment if it's needed in the future.

As much as I would prefer it, I'm leaning away from the John Deere solely due to clearance with the door.

Of the remaining choices, is there any clear winner over the others?

Can anyone help me troubleshoot my Leber v2? I'm using a Leber v2 with a Deez Nutz MP5 SS Kit in my Century Arms AP5 w/ a german ejector lever + spring. I keep getting a locked up trigger in SS mode. When this happens, the trigger cannot be pulled at all - even with 2 hands.

If I switch the safety selector to Semi Auto and switch to SS mode - the trigger is dead.

If I fire in semi-auto and switch to SS mode - the trigger is dead.

If I do a short 2-5 round burst in SS mode and then release the trigger, when I go to shoot again - the trigger is locked up and dead.

To fix it, I have to switch it to safe and then back to SS mode to shoot again (sometimes twice).

The dead trigger happens both when function checking AND with live fire. It's my first SS and when it actually works - it scares the shit out of me because I'm expecting another malfunction.

I posted a video of the range where this happened and a video from my basement (which isn't as clear as I was hoping).

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this and what the fix is?

I passed the PMP exam with AT/AT/AT this afternoon (exam was taken at a test center). I have 5 years of PM experience and I studied for approximately 3 months.

The resources (and my thoughts on them) were:

  • AR's 35 Hour Course (TIA Website)
    • Basic and it gets the job done for PMI requirements.
    • It certainly took me longer than 35 hours to complete this course when accounting for the tests.
  • AR's PMP Exam Prep Simplified book (Physical Textbook)
    • Horrible resource - Do not buy. Do not buy. Did I mention? Do not buy.
    • This feels very unedited. It is chalk full of errors and has an insanely high focus on ITTOs.
  • AR's PMP Mindset - 50 Principles and Questions (YouTube)
    • I watched this on 1.75x speed while driving to/from work in the car.
    • (IMO) Most of the PMP Mindset is common sense.
    • I wish there was an abridged version without practice questions.
  • AR's 200 Ultra Hard PMP Questions (YouTube)
    • I watched this AFTER the mindset video
  • PMI's Study Hall: Essentials
    • The #1 resource you need.
    • The questions on these mini (and full length) exams are extremely close to the real deal.
    • I did not benefit from the 'learning games' that PMI offers in the platform - I stuck to the tests only.
    • Review PMI's explanation to every question - even questions that you got correct
  • ChatGPT/Gemini/Claude
    • Anytime I was reviewing the PMI Study Hall questions and I didn't quite understand, I used an LLM to help.
    • A lot of the time, the LLM will disagree with PMI and be obviously wrong. I went through quite a few prompts to get it to understand PMI.
  • Third3Rock PMP Study Notes
    • I was only able to skim through the complete notes. I purchased these yesterday afternoon - less than 20 hours before the test. I did not review the 'cheat sheet' that came with it.
    • Solid resource. It outlines all the key terms and definitions in a graphic-infused format.

Study Hall Test Scores

Average across all tests: 71% correct

  • Mock Exam #1
    • Score: 75%
    • Score EXCLUDING Expert Questions: 82%
  • Mock Exam #2
    • Score: 69%
    • Score EXCLUDING Expert Questions: 84%
  • Mini 1 - 60%
  • Mini 2 - 67%
  • Mini 3 - 53%
  • Mini 4 - 87%
  • Mini 5 - 73%
  • Mini 6 - 53%
  • Mini 7 - 67%
  • Mini 8 - 80%
  • Mini 9 - 60%
  • Mini 10 - 87%
  • Mini 11 - 67%
  • Mini 12 - 60%
  • Mini 13 - 80%
  • Mini 14 - 67%
  • Mini 15 - 80%

Thank you to everyone for all the help and encouragement along the way!

If I had to start from scratch tomorrow. I would do exactly this:

  1. Take either DM or AR's 35 hour course (whichever was cheaper).
  2. Complete PMI's PMP application.
  3. Purchase and read Third3Rock's PMP Study Notes in their entirety.
  4. Watch AR's PMP Mindset - 50 Principles and Questions on YT.
  5. Watch AR's 200 Ultra Hard PMP Questions on YT.
  6. Purchase Study Hall: Essentials, take all 15 mini-tests, and then review all questions.
  7. Skim read the Third3Rock PMP Study Notes again
  8. Take the Study Hall: Essentials Mock Exam #1. Review the entirety of the Mock Exam #1 the next day.
  9. (I would anticipate a score of 70% of the mock exam at this point). Schedule PMP Exam.
  10. Take the second Study Hall Mock Exam & review results soon thereafter.
  11. While waiting for the exam day, periodically review the study notes and take additional practice questions within Study Hall.
