Should I Buy?

I am looking at getting a mazda 3 off marketplace and wanted to hear what everyone's opinions are on it and if its a fair/good deal.

2014 Mazda 3 Sport GS
2.0L / 4 Cyl
$8000CAD ($5600USD)
6 speed Manual
Set of winters included

Fading steering wheel (maybe peeling?)
Rest of the car is in very good shape with no rust on panels or engine bay.

What is everyone's thoughts on this? And are there easy ways to fix the steering wheel issue without buy a whole new one?

Rust On Rocker Panels?

I am looking a buying this Impreza:
2012
manual 5-speed
125000 km (78000 miles)
$6500CAD ($4600USD)

However, I am concerned about the rust on the rocker panel (near rear tire) and what that might mean the rest of the underbody looks like. What is everyone's experience with how these things rust and will this a make or break meaning I should walk away?

I am looking at getting a solid car for college. I came across this on marketplace and was curious what all your thoughts are on:

Reliability?
Price?
Common issues for this year and possible unforeseen expensive bills?

It is a 2012
175,000 km (110,000 miles)
Manual 5 speed
$5800CAD ($4000USD)

Would love to hear what you think.

Should I Buy A Civic?

I am looking at getting a 2013 Civic LX for a first car when I go to college.

Mileage: 140km (87k miles)

Price: $8,800CAD $6,200USD

Automatic Transmission

REBUILT STATUS - From the seller, **"**It was given a rebuilt status because of cosmetic damage to the rear passenger door. There was absolutely no frame damage or airbag deployment. I'll send you the picture of what it looked like before it was professionally fixed so you can see for yourself."

What is everyone's experience with this year and what are the biggest things I need to think about in terms of potential issues, maintenance, etc.

Is this a good deal and a good buy? Or should I steer clear? I am aware that a rebuilt status car will affect my insurance costs.

Should I Buy A Jetta?

Hey everyone!

I'm looking at buying a 2013 VW Jetta (manual, ~200,000 km) for $5,000 as my first car.

I want to get some personal thoughts before I go ahead with anything. So a few quesitons:

What were the biggest issues you ran into?
Anything expensive that tends to fail around this mileage?
And if you could go back, would you buy it again?

I'm decent mechanically and can do basic work, but don't want something that's constantly in the shop.

Thanks!

I am looking at buying a 2016 jeep compass (base trim I think?) but I had 4 questions (feel free to only answer the couple you know... I just didn't want to crowd this subreddit with multiple posts):

How is the leg room? I am 6' 3'' and I can fit fine into a grand cherokee but I don't know how similar they are in terms of room despite having similar specs.

What are the best options to retrofit a bluetooth stereo to this?

What the biggest problems to look out for and repairs that i should be ready to do?

Is $5600 CAD ($4000 USD) a good price for this?

160000km
Well maintained
Winter tires included
Manual Transmission

Thanks!

Compounding Breath Hold Methods?

Hey everyone! I want to get better at holding my breath and hoping that transfers somewhat to underwater activities with movement and no external oxygen.

I figure you guys are pros at this!

The reason for this is I want to train my response to panic and hopefully get a lot less of it for special forces selection and specifically the underwater portions are my weakest point but I have 3 years to get better before I have the option to apply for selection.

Holding my breath is incredibly hard for me and when I first tried I couldn't do it longer than 25 seconds.

I have been just relaxing myself each night and holding my breath for as long as I can until I start to feel slight fight or flight (but not uncontrollable panic). When I do go for air, I would say that I could've went for another 5 seconds till I would have instinctually gasped for air.

Now I have gotten to around 35-40 seconds in the span of a week. - Still horrible

I would like to know if this is a good method and what I should change? Sorry if this is a bad question, I am completely ignorant to this subject.

Cheap Chrono Reccomendations

I want to get a good quality, automatic or manual chronograph that isn't super bulky and doesn't have too crowded/complex of a dial. I like styles of pilots and simpler designs. Budget is around $1500

I know when you are in the budget range, beggars can't be choosers, but what is your favorite brands for chronograph? I am looking at seagull1963, seiko, tissot, and want something that is a bit more unique looking than a field watch.

Why Does Nico Leonard Dislike Oris

I am wondering why Nico doesn't like Oris and always puts them in low placings in terms of other brands. I haven't found an actual reason despite it being his personal preference. Is this right or is there another reason? Forgive me if I'm ignorant to this topic. I am new to this world and trying to understand it.
