Lizard won’t stop trying to climb the glass and top mesh?? HELP!!

Hi all,

Desperately seeking some help with my casquehead iguana.

He will not stop trying to climb the glass and go upside down on the mesh at the top of his enclosure… I don’t know what to do, super worried about injuries and stress. Any advice at all?? He was born very early november 2025.

Enclosure specs and temps are…

90 x 45 x 90 Glass vivarium with blacked out sides and back
32°C Basking
25° Ambient
UVB across the top too.
70-90% humidity

he’s fed every day with dubia roaches and crickets and has plenty of drinking options, hiding options, climbing opportunities and a mix between real and fake plants

it’s really worrying me, any advice would be so appreciated. I’ve had snakes and frogs before but never one of him…

TIA

How do I eat normally??

I’m not sure what to do. I’ve been in recovery for about 2 years now but recently it’s been getting hard again.

I can’t seem to get out of the cycle of either way too little or way too much and tbh? I don’t know how to eat normally anymore.

Can anyone give me any advice? I don’t mind if it can be possibly triggering with numbers or whatever, I just want help so I can carry on with my recovery and health journey!

I’m starting a new job tomorrow. My past experience in the work environment is making me terrified.

Hi all
My main point if no one wants to read the length of this post is -

I've always really struggled with education and work, I'm autistic, have ADHD and a plethora of other mental and physical health struggles. I've only had one successful job (volunteer role with my mom) The rest have driven me to suicide attempts and severe and dangerous depression, anxiety etc
Idk what to do. Im looking for a new job cuz i need the money. But im so scared im going to get dangerously sick again. help please :(

This is going to be a bit of a big venty ranty post, so strap in because it’s quite a lot!

I’m a 19 year old female, living in the UK. I’m starting a new job tomorrow and to be completely honest? i’m petrified.

A bit about me first shall we?

I’ve always struggled growing up, my childhood wasn’t the best, filled with a lot of trauma, family separation, abuse, mental and physical health issues. A whole bloody plethora of different things.

I never really had friends in school, I dropped out at the age of 12 just before lockdown due to severe mental health decline. I did a small bit of home schooling/tutoring after lockdown ended, went back for a week or so here or there to ‘real’ school. But it never worked out. I got beaten up at 15, and never returned. I was diagnosed with autism at 13/14.

I began equine therapy in april 2020, it helped me a lot. Unfortunately the owner of the company wasnt very well so me, my mom and another lovely woman took it over, clients stopped coming at the very beginning so it was just us 3 working this yard as unpaid volunteers. 2 years straight, 14 horses, 2 feral, 1 a stallion, 2022 storm, twice a day every single day. Those were some of the best years of my life.

The business closed, we moved on. Took one of the horses with me, had him here and there, not really relevant to the main story but anyway.

I tried to get a small hospitality job a few months after the business closed, thinking… ‘i’ve looked after 14 horses through one of the worst winters ever, completely unpaid, how hard can it be?’ boy was i wrong. Immediately, severe anxiety, dizzy/fainting spells, got fired quickly. bollocks. Tried again in retail about 9 months later? Worse. Health way worse. I got so sick. I was struggling with an eating disorder at this point in time too and just couldn’t hack it at all. Ended up quitting on week 3.

My health slowly got worse and worse, I became more sick, college rolled around and i managed a bit but dropped out just after christmas and that’s when i was the most unwell.

I have been on DLA/PIP this whole time so used that for money aswell as obviously living at home with my mom. (best woman EVER!!)

September came around again and i had another crack at college, I took public services, No idea why. Just did. I just about managed it, unfortunately failed my maths GCSE again but got my english and my little certificate for my college course. I was really really proud of myself. It was bloody hard. A lot of running home, a lot of working from home, a lot of illness but i did it!

Next year comes around and I get into a mechanics apprenticeship, always loved cars, fixing things, being stuck in and hands on with the horses made me think i’d do great! I didn’t.

The work environment was incredibly toxic, the people were evil, i got incredibly sick, worse than ever before, severe migraines that lasted a month, fainting, dizziness, suicidal ideation and almost attempts, almost relapsing into my ED and substance abuse. I ended up going sick and not ever going back. This destroyed me.

I stayed off sick for about 6 months before I had to quit due to the sick pay period ending. This was really tough. I spent the entire time job searching, applied to over 300 positions, landed 3 interviews, 1 said no because i stated i couldn’t work sundays or evenings, 1 said no without feedback and another i landed. This is a cleaning position.

I’m really excited for this job to be honest. The place is great, the people seem really nice, it’s relatively simple work. But i’m petrified. I’m so scared i’m going to get sick again, i’m terrified my health will decline or hinder my ability to work properly, i’m worried I’ll try to harm myself or something.

I don’t know what to do. I mean, i don’t NEED need this job, but if i don’t have a job i won’t be able to afford to feed myself. I live with my partner now, i’m still on PIP, but it’s just enough to cover monthly bills.

Ideally i really wanted a position in my partners field of work at his trade only store, but they haven’t had any job openings for a position i’m ’qualified enough’ to do. I’ve put my name in the hat a few times but obviously been declined which is fair enough.

Finding a job here is so hard. I have an english degree and a certificate in public services, that’s it. I own a photography business but the work is second to none. It’s a hard industry.

I really enjoy a lot of things, animals, art, photography, wildlife, interior design. But these jobs just don’t exist near me, or i’m not qualified enough to get them.

I’m just so worried i’m going to become unwell, my ED has kicked up again just from the stress and i’ve been losing a lot of weight. I’m really stuck on how to help myself. I’m medicated and on the waiting list for therapy but what else can I do to better my chances of this being a successful position?

I’m trying to get back into my love and knowledge of dinosaurs, flying and aquatic reptiles from the mesozoic era. It’s been 13 years. What resources are the best out there?

As many autistic children usually are, I as a child was beyond obsessed with everything to do with dinosaurs. Everything.

I recall being able to name a LOT of different species, including aquatic and flying reptiles aswell.

I’ve always ALWAYS loved dinosaurs and have grown up losing my knowledge I once had of them, which makes me so sad !! Recently i’ve begun to watch the whole JP/JW movies in order and my love for them is coming back even stronger. I really really want to get back into things!

My favourite species from the mesozoic period (not limited to dinosaurs, as I also really like the aquatic and flying species) are as follows…

Carnivorous - Allosaurus Fragilis, big lover of these guys! Incredible, so well built and just insane

Herbivorous - has to be the brontosaurus

aquatic - mosasaurus, obviously.

flying - anurognathus, they’re SO cute 😭

I really want to learn more. If anyone could recommend podcasts, documentaries or articles to read that would be amazing!

If you have any interesting facts on any of my favourites as-well i would love to hear them!

Questions about heating and lighting aswell as enclosures in general

Hey all!

Long time watcher here and lover of BTS’s

I’ve had frogs in the past, aswell as a snake and now own a conehead lizard.

Was wondering about BTS enclosure sizes and set ups as im hearing a lot of different things ?

I’m planning on building my own PVC enclosure. 5 Feet in length, 2.5 feet deep but i’m not sure on the height? wether to go with 2.5 high or just 2?

i’d prefer to have my heating and light sources outside of the enclosure, just for personal aesthetic reasons aswell as ease of access incase anything goes wrong with them. But how would this affect the environment in terms of how high they’d be from the ground?

I’m planning on giving 6 inches of substrate incase they want to burrow. So this would leave either 24 inches between the bulb and the floor or 18 inches between the bulb and the floor depending on the height of the entire enclosure. what’s more preferable?

I’d like to add some surfaces for them to climb too but nothing too high.

Please help! driving myself up the bend about this part of things and want to be fully prepared before the building and buying begins.

IN SHORT - 2 feet tall or 2.5 feet tall? How far from bulbs?

Mine and my boyfriends new baby!!

Walked into the pet shop a week ago… boyfriend saw this gorgeous casque head iguana and went ‘we need him’. so today he came home!!

So excited for the future with this guy… to see him grow and spoil the ever living shit out of him…

I’ve had reptiles and amphibians in the past but this is my boyfriends first ever exotic animal so of course the research and shopping was up to me and the buying was up to him 😭🤣

Really cool little guy… had never heard about them before but honestly maintenance is easier than my old frogs in my opinion!!

anyone else have one of these??

Theoretically… Could I have a semi bioactive enclosure…?

Hi all,

Wondering if having a semi bioactive enclosure is possible? Full drainage layer and proper substrate with leaf litter but just fake plants…? With some isopods and springtails… is this possible?

Ways to make money as a 19F UK ONLY?

Hi all! Please delete if not allowed…

i’m 19, female and looking into buying a horse by myself. Always grown up around them but was never privileged enough to be able to afford to save up the money for the initial buy.

I’m now looking into doing this myself. I need around 6k !! I’ve started saving what i’m able already, searching for jobs high and low after recent unemployment… but wondering what else I could do?

I have some skills… I suppose.

I’m a pro photographer and advertise often but i don’t get much business at all…
I’m also an artist and have designed tattoos for people in the past?

if anyone has any ideas please let me know!

Shipping Label won’t load??

Hi all,

Customer tried purchasing an item from me but vinted wouldn’t create a shipping label. I tried all the fixes from asking them to check their info, checking mine, cancelling and trying again, trying on a different device, waiting a few hours, got the customer to choose a different courier but still… nothing??

what do i do?? At a bit of a loss here… I raised it with vinted and they just told me to cancel and try again… which is what I did.

Just visited a zoo in the UK and they had two big enclosures. One for gorillas (2 i believe) and one for orangutan’s (5?) They were very clearly well looked after with a lot of room however I just felt weird viewing them!

They’re so similar to us, not far off at all and to think we’re building the zoo and they’re in it just felt sort of wrong to me? I love zoos don’t get me wrong! The conservation of it all and the learning aspects are incredible and i’ve never felt this way about other animals there but this just really struck a cord with me?

I just felt sort of bad… for them? I don’t really know how to describe it to be honest. Like we were putting ourselves on a massive pedestal when actually…. we’re all so similar?

I’d love to know how you guys feel about it and think about it!! Please let me know
