Lost my 487 day streak due to well known power hungry mods on a gaming sub that starts with A and ends with L. Got a 7 day ban for accidental “ban evasion” didn’t even break any rules with my post and was not given a reason what I was banned for either on the sub
I posted some clips of people blatantly cheating in the game, I am very new to this game and the main sub for it but I wish I had done my research before posting anything. I posted the clips on my alt account and then logged off it for months thinking nothing of it because I thought I was doing a good thing by exposing cheaters.
I am new to the game and was new to the sub and apparently the mods there are known for perma banning people over the smallest things which I learned after the fact by seeing people talking about them on a related sub and how toxic and power hungry they are.
I say it was accidental because it was. I had logged off my alt account for months so I had no idea it was perma banned and the second I made a comment on my main account (this one) I got a 7 day ban and my appeals did nothing. The only response I got was “the decision on the ban is final” but I continued to try and explain what happened yet got no response after writing at least 4-5 appeals. No response
I just don’t understand how Reddit thinks 7 fucking days being banned is fair for something that was completely accidental and harmless. also the fact that I did not break any rules on their sub or on Reddit. But I was told the rules don’t matter and if a sub wants to ban you over anything they can and I have zero say in it and the ban.
I lost a 150 day streak one time not from a ban though and I continued to try again, but this time I don’t think I can bring myself to do it again. Almost 500 days is a very long time and I was so excited on hitting the 500 day mark. So to think I would purposely evade a ban on a sub full of mods that a ton of people hate as well for the same reason is insane, if I had known my alt was perma banned there then obviously I would never have made a comment on this account.
This happened a few weeks ago but I’m just now posting about it, this app used to be all about free speech (even though I said or did absolutely nothing wrong) but the fact that I was banned with zero warning being brand new to that sub from my first ever post is insane and Reddit did nothing to help resolve it. I even asked if they could just make it a 3 day ban instead but they refused. This was also my first ever “ban evasion” and like I said it was a complete accident and I did not break any of their so called rules with the post either.
I think this is the worst way you can lose a streak and that’s why I think I’m done streaking. I really think when there is a sub full of mods who hand out perm bans like candy Reddit should really look into it and instead of punishing the people being banned they should punish the mods for excessive use of their mod privileges. But they don’t and never will, it just isn’t right at all. I’m slowly getting over it but I just don’t think anyone deserves a 7 day ban for that especially after explaining exactly what happened multiple times and even went as far as sending proof of multiple people talking about how ban happy those mods are in that sub via screenshots yet never got a response.
Reddit just does not care about how much time you put in on their platform streaking and will happily let it die over nothing.
