Video for those who requested! (Rings only, no pet pigs 😜)

This is my little baguette ring in motion for those who asked. Mine does not look as rainbowy as some others have posted, but it definitely doesn’t look “dead” either.

This was taken in my car (naturally) so no surprise animal cameo this time. Just me realizing I really should moisturize, my god

Also sorry this video obnoxiously has sound!!

Vendor that has 2.4mm box chain for recreation?

Hi all! I’m currently trying to pick a vendor to recreate a necklace that I saw and loved, (from Bliss Lau) and the necklace (as well as having lab diamonds) consists of mixed link chain. And apparently, the size of chain needed for one section is much larger than what many vendors have in stock. Does anyone know what vendor might have 2.4mm sized Italian box link chain in gold (any karat at this point honestly)?. I have asked LGG and Tianyu and both of them say they have none and can’t get any (one said the max size they had is 1mm and the other said the thickest they have is 2mm!).

Do some vendors have more access to a variety of chains and styles than others? Who do you think I should ask?

Thanks for any and all recommendations!

Looking for contact information for LGG!

Hi! Long time lurker but haven’t posted here before. I hear so much good stuff about Romy at LGG, I was hoping to reach out to her about a necklace project but I can’t for the life of me find the info about how to get in touch. Can someone help me out? Thanks!

Bliss Lau replica!

Hey all, I’ve been lurking the jewelry subs on Reddit for awhile but I’m new to jewelryreps— here cause asking about replicas on some other subs isn’t allowed.

Looking to replicate the bliss lau “halo Luna” necklace, it’s mixed chain type with two baguette diamonds. Any and all advice as to who to go to would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

My grandma loved him because she thought he looked like JFK (only more handsome)

My grandparents in the 1950s. I never got to meet my grandfather.

Ineffective assistance of counsel as a ground for mistrial....MID TRIAL??

Ok, I've canvassed my office where I practice (🍁) and no one can recall this being done here so I wanted to check with my commonwealth friends.

I recently came back from my maternity leave, and naturally in my first week back instead of getting a jump on things I'm snooping on the status of my past cases that I had to hand off when I left. It comes to my attention that one of my matters, which was mid trial when I left, has gone completely sideways and there is now an application for a mistrial before the court based on the ground of ineffective assistance of counsel (so, incompetence). I have never seen a mistrial application on that ground before. In this country, I have only seen IAC argued at the appeal level. I've never seen it raised as a means to end a trial before a decision has even been made.

This is how we got here: In January 2024, I started the trial with counsel A. Counsel A was vastly unprepared and as a result, the 3 days we booked for trial were insufficient. Crown closed its case and defence called one witness (not the accused) before we ran out of time. We booked continuation dates, but shortly before those dates counsel A told me he was fired and the client had hired counsel B. I leave for maternity leave. I come back and find that rather than continue the trial (the rest of the defence case and argument) counsel B has instead decided to apply for a mistrial, on the basis that previous counsel A's assistance was ineffective due to incompetence. This incompetence has caused a miscarriage of justice such that can't be remedied by any other option except for a mistrial and so we should just throw out everything we have done and start fresh.

My issue with this application, based on this ground, is timing. In this scenario, counsel is saying that the accused can't possibly have gotten a fair trial because his former counsel was such a dumb dumb. This lack of fairness amounts to a miscarriage of justice. The thing is, how can you argue that if the trial HAS NOT CONCLUDED YET? What miscarriage are you complaining about? Like don't you have to finish the evidence, and get an actual finding before you say a miscarriage of justice occurred? Maybe he was going to acquit you, bro! Bet you wouldn't complain about your former lawyer then!

To me, making this application on grounds of ineffective assistance of counsel MID TRIAL seems like an insane instance of putting the horse before the cart - but when I checked the case history and read the notes, the concerns I've raised don't seem to have been mentioned. I was just sort of astonished that the application had been entertained at this stage, to be honest.

What do you think - have you seen this in Australia? Is ineffective assistance something that is only raised at appeal level or has it been tried at the trial stage? I'm interested if other jurisdictions take the same view as I do above (not counting the U. states, they do WILD things there that make little to no sense to me. Oz's criminal law culture has least grown out of the same common source and decisions as ours did).

Edited for spelling/grammar

Hey everyone! I just went back to the office this Monday after the birth of my first child and I feel like a hot mess. Not only am I adjusting to wearing real clothes again, but putting makeup on after over a year I got a nasty shock- that none of my previous foundations seem to match me anymore!! I’ve always been pale, but suddenly the foundations that were a great match before make me look like a waxy ghost mannequin?? I’m wondering if the pigments of my undertones changed during pregnancy.

Some photo example included, taken in the lighting of my office bathroom and my car lol. Foundational is tirtir mask fit red cushion in 13W cream (and MAC glow play cushiony blush in plush pepper).

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Re entering the world after a baby is hard man!! I want to look polished and put together but nothing that worked before seems to be working now.

Hi everyone- admittedly I’m very new to using reverse image searches, so maybe I’m doing it wrong, but in a peloton class I did today the instructor had a necklace on that I absolutely love and my efforts came up with nothing.

The instructor is Emma Lovewell and the class was from April 18, 2026. It looks like a mixed link chain, with most of it being dainty but with a portion of snake chain at the bottom, framed by a bead or something on either side. (I know that bottom section is a chain and not a tube or bar because you could see it moving during the class). I know Emma has recently posted on her socials (I don’t have IG!) about the halo necklace from Bliss Lau, but this isn’t that one - the halo necklace doesn’t have the delineating beads that this one does.

If anyone can find this, or something like it, I’d owe you forever! Thank youuuuuuu

And over here in leafland, I have my popcorn and my glass of wine. If my teething one year old needs me tonight, she is out of luck, because mom is doing important continuing legal education work. Have fun with dad, kiddo!

Thank you, federal court of Australia!

I spotted this on the peloton instructor whose class I took today and I can’t stop coveting it- but I didn’t get a clear enough picture for AI to source it for me. It looks to be mostly dainty chain (box link maybe?) with a segment of serpentine at the front, framed by two little gold bead things? That segment in the front looks like a solid piece, but it’s not, I could see it moving and undulating during the ride so I know it’s a chain as well and not a tube. What would one call this, and does anyone know where I can find one?? TIA!!
