Another shout out/review of u/Lunarcat2025

I've had my eye on the Sacabambaspis lighter and these Mofusand glasses for a while, but since they're both complicated items to import to the USA I'd held off. Decided to give u/Lunarcat2025 a spin for getting them imported since they specialize in this sort of item. Everything arrived safely, and as always they went above and beyond. They were very communicative during the process and was a huge help when fedex requested a duplicate copy of a customs form required for import. (It should be noted that the form was properly filed at the start. Asking for the form again was a Fedex error, not one from the shipper). Very happy with the service!

My weirdest sacabambaspis item just dropped

I don't smoke or anything. I just think sacabambaspis items are pretty cool. Going to use it to start bonfires in summer/fall during family gatherings.

u/LunarCat2025 saved me from a cat-astrophe.

I purchased items from a mofusand lottery at the start of the year, and they were set to ship in June. I decided to test Tenso for the first time. Needless to say, just a week before I was no longer allowed to edit the shipping address for my order Tenso made their announcement that they were becoming more strict with the identity documents that they were accepting. Since I live with my partner and the utilities are in his name, that made things a little difficult for me. u/LunarCat2025 was able to step up and offer me a new forwarding address with a lot less hoops to jump through. I changed my shipping address to their office, and I thought the problem solved.

Needless to say, the July 8th eFiling situation was announced just a short while later. Oh no, my whole order was compromised of plushies meant to arrive in late June, just on the cusp of the eFiling change. I was, once more, up against a ticking clock for my cats. I got incredibly lucky. LunarCat2025 registered their delivery very quickly, and had them packed for shipping literally ten minutes after I received the notification that they had arrived. That quick shipping service saved my behind. These little cats arrived in the USA on July 7th, just a day before the whole panic really set in. They managed to slip through customs and make it to my house today.

I have my cats! That's more than I could have hoped for after one complication after another. My proxy really stepped up in every regard.

As promised, a completely transparent review/transaction with u/pmyy. I have a fish that touched Spanish soil.

Purchased listing: https://www.vinted.fr/session-refresh?ref_url=%2Fitems%2F8218995815-peluche-poisson-clown

All tracking numbers involved:

https://vintedgo.com/fr/tracking/1781976629176524?country=fr&region=europe

https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item#/tracking-results/LE081279937GB

The only things that I blocked out was personally identifying information. Everything went smoothly and it was an easy and quick transaction. It's already established at this point that they have access to Spain, but I keep my word. Can confirm u/pmyyy can source from Spain and I had a good time using them as a proxy.

Bear bear bear bear bear bear. Positive review of u/Jo-penpal

I've been working on completing an ani-bip tamagotchi collection for a few years. The bear ani-bip wasn't even on my radar because I'd only ever seen one or two images of it online, so I never thought I'd see one uploaded for sale. Needless to say, I got lucky, but I needed to snag it quickly before it sold out. u/Jo-penpal was able to assist, and I'm the proud owner of an item I never thought I'd be lucky enough to have.

Pika... who? Positive review of u/grimmia and u/lavender_haze6

As per usual, u/lavender_haze6 is left carrying over whatever my current fascination is. Right now, that is vintage Pikachu bootlegs. Service was reliable, timely, and friendly as always. The little guy in the middle of this happy family (the small Pikawho), was forwarded by u/grimmia to lavender_haze6 so she could carry it over on her current trip. They snatched it from Greek Vendora for me! Quick service and it arrived just in time. Happy with back package forwarders!

For my fellow mofusand collectors in the USA, be prepared. CPSC eFiling is coming for us on July 8th.

I know there are probably a decent amount of you that import Mofusand into the USA like I do, including items that might not be listed on the store because they're exclusive to a pop-up store, lottery, etc. I just want to warn everyone that is going to become significantly more difficult to import plushies and similar toy items after July 8th. US customs have implemented an eFiling certificate for imported toys to verify they are safe for children to play with. That means you have to submit documents verifying their safety to customs before they arrive in the US.

This is not a system designed to account for people collecting plushies for their personal use, but you will be subject to the requirements regardless. For the vast majority of items, it will be impossible to procure these documents. It requires information such as the factory of manufacture, safety testing documentation, lab testing for certain chemicals, etc. depending on the type of toy. Any new items have the potential to be flagged by customs and discarded/destroyed if these documents are not provided.

There is one bright spot on the horizon. Resale items are not subject to these restrictions, meaning used items are still fair game to import. If your product appears new (such as still having tags, etc.) it is possible for them to be treated as new even if you purchase them from a resale website. The best thing you can do is look for listings that have some clear signs of being secondhand: removed tags, slight blemishes, etc. Keep documentation of buying from secondhand websites like mercari.jp. Ensure that your package forwarders/shippers clarify the item is 'used' in the customs description.

I am not sure if the mofusand website will be able to file these certificates for new items you buy directly from their website. Time will tell if they will restrict shipping certain types of items to the United States. For everything else, such as the Lucky Cat Lottery from earlier this year, that you use Tenso or package forwarders for, if you purchase new... be prepared for the worst. There is every chance that after July 8th, the items will be destroyed at the border and you will not be compensated, as it is considered the job of the importer to be responsible for what they are bringing into the country.

One of my family members found a tiny Kitler~

Still a spicy, little kitten because we think they have never had human interaction. Sadly, they won't be able to keep them and neither will we, but hopefully it can be a good landing place on their way to an eventual forever home.

My reading tastes may be silly, but u/chuhuahua was there to enable me along the way

There were a few danmei from a Singaporean publisher (and one US publisher) that I was interested in, but my normal source had them out-of-stock. I heard that a store with a few scattered locations in the US, Kinokuniya, had them for in-store purchase only. I reached out to u/chuhuahua because they do in-person shopping in New York and one of the stores was located there. They were able to grab them from the store quickly and at a very reasonable price. They were packaged well and arrived with no damage. They were extremely patient and understanding when I had to play phone tag with the bookstore to figure out which of the items were in stock. Highly recommend the service for online or in-person orders in New York. This was a USA to USA transaction, so also a good option for people located in more remote locations of the USA that don't have specialty or unique retailers for this sort of merchandise near them (like meeeeeeeeeeee).

Seeking sending address in Japan

I just got an email from Tenso they are requiring two identity documents instead of one for forwarding continuing into the future, which is not easy for me. I have my ID, but utilities are in my fiance's name and I am not comfortable sending them my tax receipts with my SSN.

I have mofusand lottery items arriving in late June and need an address to change them over to. Looking for someone that accepts payment through wise or bank transfer, and uses the new Japan Post customs pre-paid to the US or FedEx Connect and willing to repackage in shipping bag instead of a box. Items are two regular-sized plushies and three small, plush keychains.

Thanks for any help. No need to help with buying, already purchased.

Why won't a dentist let you take home a mostly whole wisdom tooth?

Hello! I have a quick question. I'm not a smoker or a drinker. I'm 33 and recently got a wisdom tooth removed because it started coming through the gum and irritating it. There was no sign of infection ever mentioned, etc., but I chose to get it removed because of the irritation. It came out more easily than we thought it would, coming out in two pieces, but one was mostly whole. I would say about 80 percent of the tooth was still there. I wanted to take it home, but the dental hygienist said they only do that for teeth that come out whole "because they might be full of infection and decay." The oral surgeon never mentioned seeing decay or infection while removing it, only the person helping after he left the room said they might have it.

I'm genuinely curious as to the reasoning. I could understand if it was in so many chunks there was hardly a tooth there, but what's the difference between a partial (but mostly whole tooth) with potential infection and decay, and a whole tooth with potential infection and decay? I can't imagine why it would matter unless they thought I was planning to try to eat it or put it back in mouth, which seems ill-advised whether its a full tooth or a partial tooth. I didn't get any time for clarification because, understandably, they were rather busy and I didn't want to hold the office over with more questions.
