How would you make Mario's Backwards Long Jump Cannon?

Personally. I don't have it being ability Mario can actually learn. at least not outside of literally playing Mario 64.

in my Canon. Mario can think he can backwards long jump.

Think.

He only thinks this while under the effect of what I like to call "partying too hard" like at a gala or during a special occasion.

This isn't a literal skill in his skill set, it's just something he thinks he can do after having too much expired juice.

if anyone has an issue with this. I will try and rework it if not scrap the idea.

How important Should platforming be to the narative?

I'm writing a story about Mario having an apprentice.

I'm relying more on the processing it out the discipline of platforming, use of tools, and other training for different situations.

I really want to have platforming be part of the narrative. even explore the culture that would be used (Advertisements for platforming equipment, famous individuals who invented different platforming techniques like wall spin jumping or ground pounding, sub cultures like marine platforming or collectathon platformers, ect.

I wanted to get the community to be interested in the gameplay being used in story. Generally when a game like a platformer or an RPG is adapted into a movie or other medium. the game play is not really factored as much as story.

TL,DR: Should Platforming be important to adapting a Mario story?

My explanation for Mario's parents

Within my Canon. I subscribe to the theory that Mario's parents are Lady and Jumpman from the original Donkey Kong video game.

However, I've made some additions.

Lady is from the Mushroom Kingdom, while Jupmin is an Italian who moved to New York at a young age.

Lady And Jumpman are not their actual names. Their real names are Polly Anna Brickle, and Alejandro Alexander Jupmin. Lady is part of a family of architects, some of which mean for royaltyand nobility making themselves Nobles. Jumpman getting his name from a newspaper misprint of his last name.

After Jumpman saved Lady from Donkey Kong the first (now Cranky Kong), the two eventually would get married and to move to the Mushroom Kingdom. Eventually having Mario and Luigi being brought from the stork.

After the events of Partners in Time. The two decided it would be best that Mario and Luigi were raised in New York, at least until they were older.

Power Up-less

In my novel's Canon. Mario's Apprentice Garth can't use power-ups due to his human biology.

Before you ask, Mario and Luigi are only half human on their father Alejandro Alexander Jupmin's side. their mother Lady Polly Anna, who is naturally pyrokinetic and was born on the planet the Mushroom Kingdom takes place on, allows them to use power-ups

Garth is fully human from his mother and father's biology. So he has to supplement the power-ups with tech.

For example above, there is the fire flower gloves, which turn an oil made of fire flower into throwable projectiles mimicking fireballs.

And the Polterfludd, a combination between Fludd and The PolterGust.

This is just two pieces of tech. He has others I can show later.

But I do think he can use some power-ups. Things of like SOME suits or tool based power ups they don't need to require an internal biological magic to work or activate.

How important should plumbing be to Mario?

I'm speaking more on an emotional stance. Is plumbing a job he does to pay the billsm

Or do we prefer it to be a passion?

Was this more of a thing he picked up or do you think he went to a plumbing School?

Tourney on Sunday.

I'm trying to get better for 150cc Rally. Is there any tips and tricks. It's going to be randomized courses so I want to try and get ahead.

I feel like my biggest issue is being in second place and not being able to catch up to first place. I've been mainly playing against CPU because I can't renew my Nintendo online.

RNG and rubber banding Ai are especially annoying

If they were to make a cannon buzz lightyear of Star command crossover with Woody's Roundup. What do you think it would be like

Let's say it's family movie night at Bonnie's house, and whatever streaming service owns buzz lightyear in universe (probably Disney+ or Netflix) has a brand new animated movie.

A Buzz lightyear of Star command and Woody's Roundup movie.

What would the Canon version of Buzz and Woody do when meeting each other.

Technology?

As in are you guys okay with like, a contemporary level of technology regularly being used in Mario narrative.

The whole framing device of my novel is that it's a ask blog of Mario's Apprentice. It takes place in the late 2010s primarily as a period piece.

That means that in this scenario, there is phones and computers. I make references to video games existing, both in universe equivalence of Nintendo consoles. Even referencing how Mario and Co license their likeness to have video games based on their lives. Is how Mario payed for plumbing University.

Now I'm not saying I'm not going to have the more outlandish sci-fi technology like robots, time machine, Egadds inventions, ect.

And I'm not saying I'm going to totally discount magic existing, it's still an important piece of this world. Characters like Peach can use it.

I guess a wider question would be how contemporary would this world be, but I'll save that for another question.

I figure something like the metal cap would use a sort of nanotechnology to coat a person in a metal substance, but also use magic too enhance the efficiency, affect, and coverage of the nanotechnology.

Or perhaps the mini and mega mushrooms could have some level of biochemistry in their creations, possibly stemming from Dr. T Garden.

Tldr: how prevalent should technology be in Mario Cannon.

What would be the first instance of possession?

I might have asked this in the past. But I'm curious. Do you think Fazbear's is the first instance of possession. Or do you think a suit of armour or a mammoth skeleton could have been possessed by a dead child?

Who would you have Weird Al voice?

For my Mario novel. If it ever gets adapted into a show, I'd like to have Weird Al voice of character.

On the chance he can play a pre-existing character, I want to get a suggestion.

I'm considering Egadd, who makes semi regular appearances.

They're allowed to defeat him anyway they want.

The choices are:

UK Dennis The Menace

Tom from Tom and Jerry

Earl hickey from My name Is Earl

Charlie Morningstar from hasbin hotel

Pac-Man from Pac-Man (dealers choice in which iteration)

And Freddy Krueger from nightmare on elm Street.

Go Nuts.

You have to add two Super show characters to double Dash.

The rules are you have to choose a character from a live-action segment and a character from an animated segment.

The characters do not have to pair from the same episode.

The characters have to be originally created for the show. So pre-existing figures like Elvira or Sergeant slaughter are off the table.

I will allow parodies of preexisting characters.

My choice personally would be Obi-Wan Toady and Obi-Wan Cannoli.

What characters could defeat homelander using non-violent tactics.

This generally means combat, violent traps or contraptions.

Non-violent traps are allowed (UK Dennis the menace's Pranks or Tom from Tom and Jerry's traps)

Talking Homelander down is allowed. (Earl hickey or Charlie morning Star)

Scaring him is allowed (Pac-Man eating a power pellet or Freddy Krueger going into a dream to scare him, but only scaring him)

Using soul or mind manipulation also counts as violent if it directly means combat or hurting him.

Use your best judgment. I mainly asking about the absence of physical violence, mental or emotional violence in this scenario I would consider discouraged but not necessarily unaloud.

Subduing him or making him surrender also counts as a defeat.

Mario can't Die.

Homelander is transported to a average Toad Town, and starts scaring the locals somehow.

Mario is doing a plumbing job nearby. And comes to see what's going on.

The moment Mario is forced to do physical damage to Homelander (Stomp, throw fire ball, hit him with a plunger). Homelander immediately does something that would be considered lethal.

Homelander looks content for a moment, before realizing that the body is gone.

Mario reappears at a near by flagpole. Ready to go again at this champions road level boss.

How long would it take before Mario defeats Homelander?

A couple of rules

The flagpole is unbreakable/Mario is respawning with a study supply of one ups

There's an item shop with a phone. The shop owner is letting Mario take what he wants to help him out. (Homelander is bad for business).

Mario can call whoever he wants from within the Mario universe to help or bring something to help him.

Heros before Mario?

in the story that I'm writing. Mario has a title that sort of desegnated him as a hero of the Mushroom Kingdom. it's called SUPER.

The story's about him training the successor to hold his title.

with that being said. there were five heroes before him.

Elizabeth. A beanish merchant from the Bean Kingdom. the first SUPER.

Uyoga: I Toad samurai raised in the mountains of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Winston. The first dry bones, they were a Turnip farmer who lived a modest life in the desert. Until they died and were resurrected.

Alice. an orphaned penguin who grew up to become a "dentist". Which was in reality a front for her career as a Mafia Boss.

Merida. A Gearmo University Professor. she was valedictorian, and later on learned how to use a magic physics textbook.

all these heroes before Mario who all held the title of SUPER. from 1918 to 1984. these were heroes before Mario. and while they maybe a bit strange and a rather odd group of individuals. They are still heroes with the moral alignment of good. be it lawful, neutral, or chaotic.

For their time as SUPERS they were all dedicated to the job of being good. and even afterwards when they give the title to the next hero, they still tried to help.
