Looking for advice for downloading/backing up digital books (Kindle)

I am looking for assistance in backing up books from my kindle account.

I have purchased several books through the app, like 1984, Don Quixote, etc, and I would like to back up the books that I have purchased. To read them, I was directed to download the Kindle app from the windows store. I was able to download the books on to the app, but they are limited to only being readable on the app.

Is there any way that I can download the books that I have bought that doesn't rely on Amazon continually supporting the app (after they stopped supporting the non-Microsoft version) and making them unreadble should the app ever go down?

All of the solutions Ive seen are dependent on The Legacy Kindle app which is unsupported as of June

Question regarding publishing nonfiction media based on an Intellectual Property or existing Franchise

I am wondering what is the restrictions on publishing content, specifically nonfiction, based on media or an Intellectual Property that I do not own?
An example would be publishing a book or illustrated guide on ‘The most effective way to play Minecraft.’ Or ‘A condensed Guide to the lore of Pokémon.’
Would i need to get permission from the rights holders or the companies or would I be able to publish it as long as it was stated to not be affiliated with the rights holders, and was a fan based publication?

[TOMT] Warhammer40k artist, shows the progression of characters over the years. Example: Minor Priest to Archmagos

I’m looking if anyone knows the name of the one WH40k that does those comics showing a characters progression from one point in time to another.

I remember a few notable examples such as a female character going from an unaugmented person, to a tech priest, to a Magos because she discovered some small improvement to a device, to a Fabricator General.
Another man going from (I think) a ganger, to a Chaos worshipper, to a Daemon Prince.
Third going from Noviciate, to Sister, to Repentia, and then Saint.

Reddit mobile version saved posts list not updated. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app

My saved posts aren’t updating on the app. I will click save on a post, go to the saved list and it won’t show up. The most recent saved posts would be from 3 months ago. I can see previous saved posts but anything newer than 90+ days doesn’t show up.

I have updated to the most recent version. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

What are some good Portable devices for running emulators on and preferred Emulators to use?

So I have several GB and DS cartridges and was wondering what would be a good device to get to run an emulator on. (With the Steamdeck jumping in price, that option seems unlikely in the future.) Of the devices I have seen, the R36 series and devices similar to the SD like the ROG handheld are the most common ones.

As well, what are some good Emulators that I can run on the devices (if they do not come preloaded)?

Looking for advice on backing up physical disks as roms

Hello, I am looking for advice and guidance on how I can back up my physical games. I have a collection of disks, cartridges, etc. that are decently old by digital storage standards (being on average, 15+ years old) and I am worried about data rot, the consoles being unable to read them or the hardware breaking down.
So I would appreciate any help in this.

I am looking for help in converting my games into roms where I can then play them on a computer as I do not want the games to degrade to the point where they become expensive pieces of plastic waste.

Thank you

Advice on Backing up Physical Games

Hello, I am looking for advice regarding the best way to back up my collection of Physical Games.
What devices and softwares are best for this? For CD-Roms and console disks I feel fairly sure that a usb DvD player would be a necessity. Beyond that, I would need assistance as I am unsure where to start and what I need beyond the obvious.

Also, are there specific ones for backing up my Nintendo games as they use proprietary cartridges that, with the exception GameCube, Wii and WiiU, would need a special method of backing up.
