The BEST way to help Dinosaur King (Can we PLEASE ban the "Season 3" posts?)

First off...the "Season 3" posts.

I'm not trying to be an asshole here, and I think I speak for most people when I say it's getting REALLY tiresome STILL seeing people making posts that are either "iS sEaSoN 3 hApPeNnInG?" or "sIgN mY pEtItIoN tO mAkE sEaSoN 3 hApPeN." Like...I feel like it's legit still happening like, every other week.

Look, let's be honest with ourselves; we're all intelligent people. Our fandom is small, but very much alive, and we should celebrate that. But the franchise itself is (currently) very much dead. The creators, the actors, everyone associated with it, have moved on. We need to accept that, and move on. It's obvious to everyone old enough to think critically, and it's legitimately just cluttering up the subreddit now.

Now...

While it'll likely never happen, the best way to ENCOURAGE Dinosaur King's return (in reboot form, remaster, or whatever) is not with some useless petition that'll get 10 votes and then be forgotten. It's by doing exactly what other franchises that HAVE returned, like Ben 10 for instance, have been doing for years:

It's not up to the creators anymore...WE have to fill the gap.

WE have to create content good enough to satisfy our OWN fanbase. And every shred of content adds to that. Every piece of fanart, every youtube video, every well-written fanfiction and every custom card made with my template and shoved onto deviantart, twitter, bluesky, wherever, feeds the fire.

And it's not about "trying to bring it back." That's not the point. It's about sending a message to the Internet and the world that we LOVE this franchise, we are PASSIONATE about it, and we WANT it to still be relevant and alive for people to enjoy. And we don't need anything official for that. WE'RE the official now, because when the creators moved on, WE didn't.

A franchise lives and dies with the support it receives from its fanbase. And our fanbase, again, whilst small and fragmented, IS alive and well, and no one can take that away from us. Which means Dinosaur King lives too, through US.

So go. Go and create something. Not because you want Dinosaur King to come back...but because you want to show the world that Dinosaur King is worth remembering.

Besides, with how crap the show's writing was half the time, I reckon most of us could do a better job anyway 😄

(Thanks for coming to my ted talk, etc etc... - Prince 😊)

Wearing unofficial merch shirts in monetised videos?

This is something I've gone back and forth on for a while now on whether or not it's okay or whether I'm just being paranoid. I make discussion vids for YouTube on different franchises, and thus like to wear shirts that correspond to said franchises. Unfortunately, many of the franchises I cover are old, forgotten, and dead (even by their own creators) and thus the only available shirts are unofficially made ones from places like Redbubble.

I'm fully aware that the people MAKING these shirts are breaching copyright, but am I good just wearing them on video?

Mods, we need a ban on Ai Slop Channels. NOW. Please.

I'm *so sick* of seeing them, we ALL are. Every single post from them gets downvoted into hell, and rightly so, because we *don't want them here.* They're lazy, pathetic, and a disgrace to hardworking YouTubers who put in the effort to learn the skills required to do this job. YouTubing is a *creative* endeavour, and there is nothing *creative* about being a lazy piece of shit and not putting in a shred of effort into your content. Please ban any posts containing them. We don't want them here.

How to Fix the 1 Extra Frame when exporting with "Mark Out!"

Literally just making this post for anyone in future, because I had to look through several different posts to figure out how to fix this myself, and NONE of them featured the INCREDIBLY SIMPLE solution spelt out in BASIC ENGLISH. Like...SERIOUSLY. People were just wittering on about useless jargon instead of typing out the ONE SENTENCE SOLUTION.

So when you drag your playhead to the end of your timeline and click "Mark Out," it always adds an extra frame, which is incredibly annoying if you don't want a random frame of blackness at the end of your videos. The reason for this is that the In and Out system works on the BEGINNINGS of each frame (which is moronic; the "Mark Out" function SHOULD work off of the ENDINGS of frames because you're marking the END OF YOUR VIDEO). So when you press "Mark Out" at the END of your final frame, it registers it as the BEGINNING of the NEXT frame.

All you need to do to fix this is to press "Mark Out" 1 frame before the end of your video.

There, was that so hard? Seriously, why do we have to complicate EVERYTHING? This problem has a SIMPLE SOLUTION, and no one has put it out there! 😭

A Malicos prequel would be sick (I want to know what colour his lightsabers were too 🤣)

Malicos is such a fun character, his charisma and almost friendly attitude (until he tries to kill you 😅) makes him such an enjoyable character. Although we got a basic synopsis of his time on Dathomir during the game, I think it would be amazing to have a short comic series or something (fuck it, even an actual Live Action series would be sick) that fully details his time on Dathomir: seeing him before the purge, during the purge, what he saw in the Zeffo Temple, his manipulation of Merrin and the Nightbrothers, it all sounds perfect for a comic series.

It'll also give us an opportunity to see what colour his sabers were before he bled them, which I'd love to see and am kinda bummed they haven't revealed it in any official media yet.

Davinci needs to get a grip with these file size predictions, I swear to god 😭

The other day it thought one of my videos was going to be over 200GB big and was warning me about "potentially not having enough space for export". It didn't even end up being 50.

Playhead not snapping to frames while scrubbing at max zoom anymore?

Just updated to the latest version from Version 20 (is it too much to ask for an auto-updater so we don't have to uninstall it every time? It's medieval at this stage...) and noticed that at max zoom, the playhead is now gliding smoothly instead of snapping to individual frames like it's supposed to. First off, can we stop randomly changing shit without asking? If there are new settings, they should be OFF by default, I shouldn't have to make a REDDIT POST asking how I get things BACK TO NORMAL after an update. And second, PLEASE tell me there's a setting to change it back to normal. There is NO reason it shouldn't be frame snapping at max zoom when all you could POSSIBLY be doing is working between individual frames at that zoom length.

Asked my friend Jason (who has very few if any creative bones in his body) to design a lightsaber whilst he was watching me play, and he actually made something pretty decent. Does the Council approve?

The Green Saber!

Doing a series on my channel involving all the different lightsaber colours, and giving Cal a different outfit/making up a bit of story for the different versions of him that use all the different colours. In Legends, the Green blade represented the Jedi Consular, a Jedi who was well attuned to the Force, so after Ilum, this version of Cal took a lot of time studying the mysteries of the Force both with Cere and on his own, and customised his lightsaber based on older designs from the Jedi of old.

(Does the council approve? 😁)

Saber blade outside of hilt glitch during cutscene?

Was filming some stuff and noticed pretty quickly that Cal's saber blade is outside of the hilt during the Rayvis Death cutscene, anyone else seen this? Restarting the game and changing lightsaber parts won't help, I filmed this same cutscene a few weeks back with different parts and the bug persisted. Any ideas, anyone?

Name's Prince! YouTuber of obscure franchises, presenting my first video on one of my favourite movies of all time, Atlantis The Lost Empire, talking about the Sequel Graphic Novel! PS...WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS?!?!

Just noticed this, instead of struggling with his lightsaber in this scene, ____ literally could've just SHOT Merrin 😭

Like, his blaster is IN HIS HAND, and she's COMPLETELY preoccupied with securing his other hand. THINK, Bode, THINK!

Not sure if people have posted about this before, but ever since I saw this moment, I've been convinced it's meant to be a reference to the old style of Vader's fight with Kenobi in Ep 4.

The way they just stand motionless, saber to saber in that iconic, sort of "casual" pose, INSTANTLY reminded me of the slow, casual poses and movement they were forced to do in the duel in Episode 4 (due to the technology). I don't think it's too much of an assumption to say this was deliberate to pay homage.

I feel like Cal didn't try hard enough to sway Rayvis.

Don't get me wrong, obviously Rayvis isn't the most moral dude, and I don't really know if I'd even want Cal to successfully sway him. But I feel like he hardly even tried, especially after hearing the conversation in the elevator. Cal knew that Rayvis was planning to end his oath to Dagan after he had the compass, and at that point, Dagan was on his way to where the compass was, so it was practically over by that point anyway. And Rayvis' line "There are many wars but little honour to be won from them" has always stuck with me, like...what war could be more honourable than fighting the Empire and protecting the innocent? Cal absolutely could've appealed to his sense of honour, however weirdly twisted it is.

Again, I don't know if he's the type that could be swayed, but I feel like everything Cal heard in the elevator should have set up that Cal would use that and try harder. It really felt like he just asked once and then gave up.

Did anyone else think Drya Thornne was actually going to be a proper antagonist?

I remember when I first watched the trailer with him in it, I assumed he'd sort of be the lowest dude we'd have to face, but that he'd still be an actual CHARACTER. That Dagan would be the final boss, Rayvis would be the penultimate boss, and Drya would sort of be the high-rank lackey that we maybe duelled twice, someone with a lightsaber who wasn't too powerful to sort of get us back into the swing of duelling people. From the way they showed him off in the trailer, I was pretty disappointed with how the dude wielding a CROSSGUARD lightsaber was pretty much just a throwaway lackey with a name; he seemed way too cool for that fate.

DualShock Calibration GUI: Flicking Stick Drift?

Hi, all. Turned on my just over 2-year-old PS5 controller today and discovered it had a unique form of "flicking" stick drift (out of nowhere, might I add...) where basically, when I'm repeatedly moving my left joystick to the right, in the brief moment where it snaps back to the centre between movements, it often registers it as a move to the left. So instead of: move joystick right = right movement registered/release joystick = no movement registered, I'm getting: move joystick right = right movement registered/release joystick = left movement registered.

I've come across the DualShock Calibration GUI tool, would any of you more experienced with it be able to tell me if any of the tools on that would help fix this issue?
