currently having pixel 7 but its camera has some issue so im saving up for new phone now but since i live in malaysia i have a lot of choices
i dont really game on phones just for camera and social media so i expect stable,clean and good camera

its quite a lot but i have never used to any chinese phone in long term and itll treat u so please let me know im lowkey into xiaomi but if all risky ill go pixel 9 please guide me

just as i looked at other reddit posts this case is very common i have been having this problem for like 2 weeks it completely stopped working since this Wednesday like android itself cannot detect rear camera along with flashlight. today i was just bored and kept restarting the phone suddenly camera it self is detected but when i open camera app or any other social media (whatsapp,messenger) its still black but i can use flashlight i thought it was some ribbon issue and if i restart it will go undetected again. just now again after several restarts its still same all black when i open camera app but when i opened camera test on pixel diagnosis it works both ultrawide and wide camera im so confused whats the problem

i tried -

1. wiping camera cache
2. downgrade and update camera app
3. updated android( im having this issue since A17 beta 4 and then i updated to 4.1 still same so i decided to exit the beta program and went to A16 it was sitll the same so i updated to stable A17 and now its still the same)
4. camera access is all allowed

as far as i can sense this is no hardware failure its just google themselves tripping ahh please guide me through this if anyone has any idea please thank you sorry my english

so i have pixel 7 and after update its camera module died for some reason and i tried everything nothing worked so its dead and since im a uni student at worst time possible i dont have money for new phone and no i dont wanna change camera i dont trust it anymore so ive been looking around and found iphone se3 64 gigs for around 120$ or 500MYR is it like worth it if i use it along side w my pixel 7 i just need a phone for camera and im not a big camera guy i just need one for everyday snaps i also found se 2020 128 for same price but se3 was looking good to me since i already have another one

i was using A17 CP31.260522.006.A1 before that beta 4 and i started having issues like out of nowhere rear camera goes black and sometimes recoveres so of i retstart the whole camera module is not detected and today after many attempts it still didnt work and so i decided to opt out and now switched public version of android 16 and camera module is still not detected so it probably killed my camera atp thank you google i appreciate

I have been having this issue before the update and I thought it'd be fixed after new update which is CinnamonBun (CP31.260522.006.A1) but it's still same I already sent feedback and tried many methods yet nothing ts Lowkey pmo

so i have tried android 17 beta on my pixel 7 now running CP31.260508.005.A1. i havnt used much camera lately since im on my break and dont really go out but today i wanted to take a pic of my lunch and when i opened camera app rear camera was all bu selfie worked and when i restarted it it worked and after a while when i opened snapchat it didnt work again after another restart it did few mins ago when i checked i got an error message saying theres something wrong with camera and when i tried restart it didnt work but when fully turned off the phone and turned on now its working if its software bug i hope they fix it but will it kill camera hardware thats what im most afraid im not at state of buying another phone rn
