Sorry, but to this day I think this was cringe and inconsiderate. And I like Jace. And no, I'm not saying Aegon is not a dick. But I also feel like Jace is more insensitive here. Am I wrong for that?

I understand what they were trying to convey, which was "look at crass asshole aegon" and "look at this proper prince", but I think asking someone else's wife to dance in front of your new betrothed is not the flex he thinks it is.

I think it was quite clear that Aegon's comment to Baela was a jab aimed toward Jace and his suck-up prudishness. Aegon knows Jace is the golden boy, loved by his mother, his siblings, and his grandfather, a proper little heir with 0 scandals, and just a few hours ago, the man who stated the obvious flaw about him (and his siblings) was beheaded after he was threatened to have his tounge cut by his own father, who literally rose from his deathbed to protect Jace and his siblings, yet I bet not once did he bat an eye on his other grandchildren: Jaehaerys and Jaehaera.

He knows Viserys would never, ever do that for him, his siblings, or his own children, not even when he was in a less severe condition. Which comes to the only thing Aegon has over Jace and could poke fun at. Aegon feels like he is more of a man because he has children and a wife, and experience; hence the "I suppose you know how the act is done", comment to Jace and "if you want to be well satisfied all you have to do is ask (me)" to Baela. Which makes Helaena laugh, and then later say Aegon in reality ignores her, and only with her sometimes when he is drunk. (Which I also don't understand. It was very out of character.)

Now Jace's answer to this is not to ignore Aegon and ask Baela to Dance, but to ask Helaena to Dance. I mean sure, she said she is being neglected, but even if she is your aunt, and Aegon's sister, she is also his wife, and the mother of his three (back then I thought it was three) children. Like clearly this is a very complex realitionship you have no way of actually understanding from snippets, given they are literal siblings with children and forced teenage parents, which Jace surely had to know about, and you did this right after that conversation, when the theme was marriage and Helaena being Aegon's wife, and not as Helaena, his sister? Like what was Aegon supposed to think here? Is he supposed to be ashamed that he is not in love with his literal sister and feel bad about their trauma? And what about Baela, lol? I just think this was ignorant, but I might be wrong, so feel free to correct me.

I could hardly watch any scene with Aemond this episode; I just kept hitting the forward button because I was so uncomfortable, which is such a shame because I'm sure Ewan did an amazing job. The writers are truly all disgustingly deranged, and this was abysmal.

I was once an Aemond fan, so this was pure torture. Honestly, I'm just sorry.💚
