Instead of typical racing merchandise, Kareena layered a structured Alexander McQueen jacket over a fitted white bodysuit and white trousers. She further accessorized with a Gucci scarf, Givenchy sunglasses and an Hermès Kelly. She looked good!

It’s easy to rewrite history when you judge the past by today’s standards.

Kareena had already proven herself from the very beginning, contrary to the narrative some people push today. It’s so easy to rewrite history when you’re talking about things that happened decades ago.

If you keep repeating that an actor did bad films at the beginning of their career, someone judging those films by today’s standards might assume they came one after another over several years. But that wasn’t how the industry worked back then. Actors routinely did four or five films a year. It doesn't necessarily mean years of failure.

And with Kareena, from 2000 to 2004, and even before Jab We Met, she had already delivered several performances that received widespread appreciation. She had also won two Filmfare Critics’ Awards for Best Actress, not to mention the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

This was the reality of her career before Jab We Met, and this 2005 recognition is just another little reminder of it.
