Help interpreting a UTI Culture result from Urgent Care?

I've been having a burning sensation, particularly when I urinate so I went to Urgent Care & was given a Urine Culture to check for a UTI, and another swab to again check for BV, Yeast Infections, STDs, Ureplasma, & mycoplasma but all came back negative. I was sure it could be BV again.

I started taking vaginal probiotics to build my good bacteria back up since they informed me in the past it was missing due to all of my antibiotics for past UTIs. Could the vaginal suppository probiotics have caused this? I was off of them 48 hours prior to testing.

I was initially happy until I realized that I didn't know what the burning could be from & I started getting paranoid they could've made a mistake- they said it was normal but it's burning continuously when I pee. I've spent so much money on Urgent Cares & specialists (my insurance co-pays are VERY HIGH) so I don't know what to do. I looked at the online portal from Urgent Care & it said the below- I can't help but wonder if I have a UTI? =/

The results: Non-uropathogenic Gram positive organism. May represent colonizers from external and internal genitalia

Help determining UTI Urine Culture Results?

I'm a 42 year old female & have had a problem w/ UTIs. I along w/ my husband have been tested for everything and everything comes out normal.

I've been having a burning sensation so I went to Urgent Care & was given a Urine Culture to check for a UTI, and another swab to check for BV, Yeast Infections, STDs, Ureplasma, & mycoplasma but all came back negative!

I was initially happy until I realized that I didn't know what the burning could be from. I looked at the online portal from Urgent Care & it said the below: *They say my culture is normal but due to the burning I'm worried there could've been a mistake? I unfortunately don't have the money to keep going to specialists either =(

I started taking vaginal probiotics to build my good bacteria back up since they informed me in the past it was missing due to all of my antibiotics for past UTIs. Could the vaginal suppository probiotics have caused this? I was off of them 48 hours prior to testing.

The results: Non-uropathogenic Gram positive organism. May represent colonizers from external and internal genitalia

Has anyone had to deal with BV while actively trying to get pregnant?

I posted this in Healthy Hooha too but I was hoping to get as many opinions I could.

I want a baby very badly but because of my UTI's & use of antibiotics with it, I've battled BV off and on for the past few months. I know BV is awful for pregnancy so I'm trying to nip it now.

The thing is, I've successfully used Boric Acid to treat & get rid of it in the past but I was advised by my specialist that Boric Acid suppositories can hurt my chances of getting pregnant, especially during ovulation. I'm ovulating any day now but I think I have BV & made an appt w/ my Specialist but I can't get in until this weekend.

They told me that Boric Acid & any suppositories with Lactic Acid alter your PH & it makes it almost impossible for sperm to "Survive" enough to cause a pregnancy (their exact words to me). However I hate dealing with it for the next few days just wondering if I have it but I have all the symptoms.... but I'm also nervous about using Boric Acid or a Lactic Acid probiotic suppository in case it does wreak "Havoc" on sperm like they said.

Has anyone successfully dealt with BV while actively trying to get pregnant? How did you treat or handle it?

*The specialist I have told me to avoid all oral treatments for it like Metro

Walmart Beauty Box- I just signed up & received the spring box instead of the summer box

Is this normal? I signed up a few days ago & received my box today but it was the spring box with coconut whitening strips, Jasmine perfume sample, La Roche Posay cleanser sample, & a sample packet of Hask Shampoo/Conditioner.

Does this mean they'll send me the summer box too? Or did I get skipped 😕

Advice for pale skin? I'm debating between LA Tan & Palm Beach Tan for a spray tan, is one better than the other?

I'm going on vacation soon & after paying for everything I can't really afford to go to a different place for a personalized one (I live in Chicago). I just thought it would be fun to try before leaving but I'm a little worried because I am super pale with cool blue undertones.

I know it varies by person but does anyone have any advice on with place to choose? I'm sorry if it's a stupid question but does one versus the other work better on pale skin? I plan to do the light shade only because with how pale I am, it's probably gonna be super noticeable lol.

I'm just a little worried about looking orange though, does anyone have any tips or advice? I know to exfoliate really well the night before, etc. However I'm nerdy enough to say I'm really excited to give it a try!

Ideas for probiotics to take after a very long course of antibiotics?

Forgive me if this is TMI but the past few months have been hell. I was on almost back to back antibiotics for repeat UTI's since March!!! (I have a specialist who is helping me try to figure out whats going on & is testing further) but they mainly had me alternating between Macrobid & Keflex.

I was taking 3 Florastor each day once I started antibiotics & now that I'm off I plan to still keep taking the 3 daily. I'm also drinking 1 cup of fat free plain kefir every morning. I'm debating whether I should add an additional one? With so many months of antibiotics I know my gut health is destroyed beyond belief & I'm paranoid about C-diff, etc.

I can't afford to take any of the microbiome tests I keep hearing others talk about but does anyone have any advice? I'm unfortunately not of fan of most fermented foods. I kind of stomach the Kefir because of how many probiotics are in it but other than fermented foods or Kombucha, should I add any other supplements or probiotics to help rebuild?

Has anyone successfully cured active BV with just Boric Acid & not Metronidazole?

I was reading through past posts but most of them are people asking for BV advice to prevent it & maintenance. I'm currently on Macrobid for my UTI but I know I developed BV from it (I only get BV from antibiotics) but thanks to my back to back UTI's in recent months, I was Metronidazole 5 times in 4 months! I don't think I can handle the pills or Gel again.

I asked my Urologist & she told me to go ahead & try it but there's no clinical evidence that it helps get rid of it. Has anyone solely used Boric Acid suppositories to get rid of their BV without anything else?

I will say I am NOT a fan of the Urologist I have, everything to her has no "proven merit" I told her I was taking Florastor & wanted to find a good vaginal probiotic- preferably a suppository to add good bacteria back in. She practically chastised me saying vaginal probiotics do nothing & that I can try them but its a waste of money.

I REALLY am hoping & praying though to try to get rid of my BV naturally this time with Boric Acid, does anyone have any success stories?

*I am planning to try hiprex for my UTI's but I was advised that I need to wait until my current UTI is taken care of & preferably the BV- then the Urologist said she will send the prescription for it.

Can someone calm my nerves about trying Hiprex? UTI's are ruining my life

UTI's are ruining my life - I'm literally getting UTI's once a month or more. It only happens when I have sex. They gave me Macrobid to take after intercourse but it does nothing, I get a UTI literally a day later. It's not a hygiene issue- we both shower before & after, I'm peeing before & after, taking D-Mannose, taking NAC for biofilms, drinking plenty of water, etc. I also tested negative for Ureaplasma & Mycoplasma. They tested my husband for everything under the sun but everything for us both came back negative. I've been routinely on Macrobid, Keflex, & Fosfomysin. Most of my UTI's were from E-Coli but now this current one is from E. faecalis

They have a Cystoscopy schedule for the end of July but I can't help but think, "What the hell do I do when it's normal?" The Urologist is now recommending Hiprex. At first I was excited to try it but when she explained it to me that it turns your pee into literal Formaldehyde- it has me secretly panicked. I keep thinking is this gonna give me bladder cancer a year from now? Will is affect my liver or kidneys? I currently have no kidney or liver issues but I do have a family history of genetic liver/kidney issues which is what made my Urologist say this was a last resort.

I don't know, it just has me scared, its like this is given as my last chance for UTI treatment. It's screwing with my mental health because I wanted a baby so bad but I can't see how when I get a UTI each time from sex and now It's embedded in my head that I'm going to have complications from Hiprex. Can anyone give me any advice? =(

Currently I take:

D-Mannose twice a day

NAC

Florastor 3 times a day

I drink 1 cup of fat free plain Kefir daily

*Currently on Macrobid for UTI strain E. faecalis  - which will probably never leave me

*I'm also allergic to quite a few antibiotics- I'm allergic to Penicillin's, Sulfas, & Clindamyacin so they're limited sometimes with what they can give me.

BV is ruining my life, I just can't keep it at bay, please help!

BV is new to me over the past few months. I have been getting recurring UTIs & my urologist is trying to help. I already follow the hygeine rules, I wipe from front to back, drink plenty of water, shower before and after sex, pee before & after, take D-mannose daily, I drink 1 cup of kefir daily PLUS florastor daily.

I have a cystoscopy at the end of the month and tested negative for mycoplasma & Ureaplasma along with negative for all STDs. My husband was also treated with metronidazole just in case

The problem is because she has me on macrobid everytime we have sex, as soon as I take one, boom I get BV the next day or so.

She recommended I take Boric Acid, I used it for 14 straight days, it did NOTHING to get rid of the BV. So now it's back to Metronidazoe...will ends up giving me a yeast infection. This is ruining my life and mental health. We REALLY wanted a baby but I can't get rid of the BV! The Macrobid is helping keep the UTIs at bay but nothing is keeping the BV at bay. I don't know what to do 😭😭😭

Does Berberine wreck your gut like other antibiotics?

Berberine was recommended by a Homeopathic Dr. I already take florastor daily along with kefir but she recommended Berberine as well.

However I know a lot of research calls it a natural antibiotic as well. I've looked through all kinds of clinical studies but I can find anything that talks about if it hurts your gut like a regular antibiotic does.

I've been on sooo many antibiotics for UTIs which caused havoc to my gut (and an unfortunate case of BV) Im hesitant to try this if I'm making it worse. Anyone have experience with berberine?

Was anyone ever given metronidazole gel to use twice daily for 3 days instead of 5?

I have BV after another course of antibiotics from a UTI & I was given metronidazole gel (the regular normal strength) but he gave it to me saying to use it twice a day for 3 days instead of the normal nightly course for 5 days.

I'm curious because when I google, it says the Gel should only be used nightly for 5 days, not twice a day for 3 days. Has anyone tried this route? I'm a little anxious because we go on vacation next week & I'm worried the twice daily for 3 days may not get rid of it & cause it to be prolonged or cause bad irritation?

Terrified of developing C-diff after continuous months of antibiotics

This has been an awful 2026. Since Marc I have had almost back to back UTI's. I now have a specialist who tested for everything possible that could be causing them & everything is coming back normal. She's setting up a cystoscopy for July to investigate further but OMG the antibiotics =(

Since March, I've had 6 UTI's! I'm allergic to quite a few antibiotics so they've had be alternating between Macrobid & Keflex. Well a few weeks ago I had an abscessed wisdom tooth that needed removal and they prescribed a Z-pak for that prior to getting it out to calm the infection. Well Ive been getting some bad pains in my jaw so now they prescribed a Z-pak again because they claim they're sure it's an infection. I tried asking if there was a way to tell so I didn't take them unnecessarily but they got snarky with me saying if I didnt treat it, it would spread & could cause sepsis.

The thing is I'm absolutely insanely terrified of getting C-Diff, I've been on an astronomical amount of antibiotics since March. I've been taking 4 Florastor each day along with a glass of Kefir each morning but it's sounding like that may or may not even help. I don't have diarrhea just yet but I tried talking to my primary care Dr & GI but they won't test anything without all the symptoms being there. I don't mean to panic rant to anyone but does anyone have any advice? I did read that you needed to be colonized in order to get c-diff but the Dr told me thats not really true & that anyone can get it from antibiotic use so I don't know what to believe anymore ='(

16 days ago I had a top right Molar extracted but now I think I have an infection, will antibiotics clear it?

I'm a little nervous & frustrated. I had an abscessed tooth (far back top right molar) taken out 16 days ago. I was seen at the 7 day post op & told everything looked good & was told the hole was already 50% (also had stitches)

I called the office today, day 16 because I feel like I have awful breath & a bad taste in my mouth. I also told them my right jaw was hurting a little & it was slightly radiating into my ear. I completely followed all the instructions including the salt water rinse multiple times a day.

They brushed it off claiming I'm probably fine but prescribed a Z-Pak just in case. They said I didn't need to be seen in the office because it looked good a "week" ago according to them & the X-ray was clear.

I'm nervous though, will the Z-Pak clear it? I'm surprised they don't want another follow up. I'm paranoid because I don't want anything to spread. I know I can't make them see me but should I be worried?

Has anyone successfully prevented BV with Boric Acid? I have another UTI & I'm hoping to prevent BV this time around with Boric Acid

I started seeing a Urologist who tested for everything to figure out whats going on & why I keep getting so many UTI's. She tested me for Ureaplasma & Mycoplasma (She & I were so positive that I had it that she even prescribed antibiotics until the test came back)

Well that test along with every other one was negative. She's having me schedule a scope next month (the soonest) but naturally the culture came back as me having a UTI caused by E-Coli. She put me on Keflex 250mg 3 times a day. She also tested my husband & even though his results came back as normal, she still treated him with antibiotics & Metronidazole. The thing is though I ALWAYS GET BV when I take antibiotics...ALWAYS. I'm really tired of Metronidazole so I'm wondering if anyone had any luck "preventing" BV from coming while on Antibiotics while using Boric Acid each night?

I'm trying it regardless to see what happens but I'm hoping I can get a head of it this time? She gave me her blessing to try the Boric Acid & Theraworx wipes to see if that can stop the BV from coming but has anyone had any success in this?

I'm taking Florastor probiotics & have a vaginal based one but I just really wanna prevent BV but again, they 100% come everytime I have a antibiotic in my system =(

Trying to figure out if my "Clot" came out after my tooth extraction?

I had to have an upper molar removed yesterday at 9:00AM due to an unsavable abscessed tooth. Everything went well. They did a bone graft and then gave me sutures. They sent me home with the instructions not to use a straw, soft foods, no smoking, dont rinse your mouth etc.

I don't smoke or anything like that so I followed the instructions 100% thinking everything should be ok. Well I got up at midnight to go to the bathroom but then noticed something soft in my mouth, it was a small white mushy thing that looked like a very large mushy grain of rice (this wasn't food, its just the only way to describe it) I went back to bed but woke my husband out of fear that maybe in my sleep my clot dislodged but he said if theres no pain I'm fine.

However I'm worried, I really don't want any complications & I did call the Dentist but I had to leave a message for them. I can't really figure out if what came out was a problem. I'm on day 2 and I don't really have any pain, just some "pressure" in my face. It's hard to see inside the tooth extraction site since it's so far back on top. I'm reading how pain can develop days later. Is there something I can do or is there a way to figure out if this was the clot that fell out?

Opinions or Advice? I have a UTI but am currently being treated with an antibiotic that won't help my UTI...

I feel so incredibly low right now. I tested positive for Ureaplasma but developed a tooth abscess at the same time so the Dr put me on a Z-Pak until the dentist takes care of it on this Tuesday. Well during my Friday visit with the Urologist she took my urine to double check everything. I apparently have a UTI! It says today it was caused by E Coli 10,000-50,000 growth.

I'm on day 3 of the Z-Pak until my Tuesday dental procedure but now I'm worried because I know Z-Pak does nothing for E-Coli and thanks to the Holiday weekend I can't reach anyone.

The paranoia in me is worried about the UTI spreading without proper treatment. I'm so depressed I want to cry 😭 😭 😭

Did anyone ever take fosfomycin powder? Did you get awful diarrhea from it? 😭

I'm sorry if this is TMI but I've been in UTI hell. After culturing it, they changed me from macrobid to fosfomycin to take as a one time thing. I took it yesterday and had the worst diarrhea of my life all night.

I called my Dr who blew me off saying it's because they gave me back to back antibiotics,& to just stay hydrated. It's scaring me though because we're not talking just a few times, it was literally all night long with stomach cramping. I understand all antibiotics can cause diarrhea but this is ridiculous. I'm already on Florastor but has anyone else delt with this too? 😭

For those who've had BV, were you ever given metronidazole gel to use twice a day for 3 days?

I have BV again (with yet another UTI). This time saw someone else since my concerns were being downplayed. I was given fosfomycin to take as a one time thing which is my first time doing the packet. However this time the Dr gave me metronidazole gel to take twice a day, once in the morning & once at night for 3 days.

The last time I had BV, they gave it to me to take once at night for 5 days. Was anyone else ever prescribed this regimen? I tried googling but it seems like a little out of the ordinary. I'll follow the directions but did anyone else try this? 🤔

Forgive me for posting so much but Im so upset, they gave me the wrong antibiotic for the UTI strain I have! Apparently I have Enterococcus faecalis & this antibiotic doesn't treat it.

Urgent Care called on Monday & said my UTI was caused by E-Coli and gave me Macrobid. It was then changed to Cefuroxime axetil. Well last night I noticed I wasn't feeling better but worse so I decided to peak again at my results from Quest Diagnostic. I then noticed it said my UTI bacteria strain in the culture was from Enterococcus faecalis NOT E-Coli. I then looked up Cefuroxime axetil & saw that it doesnt even treat Enterococcus faecalis!

I called my primary care doctor who told me to come in today & they said they would do another culture followed by an ultrasound to check my kidneys. I'm so frustrated & scared now. I've had a UTI that wasn't being treated for well over a week (probably 2 since it started days before Urgent Care) I also have BV but was not told to start treating it until the antibiotics were finished since they said BV would come right back while still on antibiotics.

I've never had Enterococcus faecalis before but it scares me. My mother passed away from kidney failure so I keep thinking, "What if this spreads to my kidneys?" I took matters into my own hands for now & this morning I took my Macrobid instead of the Cefuroxime (since everything keeps saying Cefuroxime won't treat this UTI) Again I know I've been posting a lot about UTI stuff so forgive me, I feel like most don't understand but at least the people in this group have been there before.

Has anyone else been dealing with Enterococcus faecalis? I know it's apparently hard to treat but I have a urologist in 2 weeks so I'm hoping they can help. I've been taking NAC for the past 2 weeks as well so I'm hoping this helps with Biofilms (if thats part of the problem)
