Moonrise Temple would, Mechanically and thematically, be PERFECT for the next Heist.

The mysterious, ancient temple no one's been inside for centuries?

Possibly filled with the remnants of an ancient Guthixian-Order-turned-Blood-Cult?

This absolutely SCREAMS an Indiana-style temple raid, and I can see a LOT of potential as making it our next Heist (depending on what's already been planned or not.)

With all of the modernization, updates, QoL changes recently... think we'll see an update to Managing Miscellania anytime soon?

Managing Miscellania is one of the few classic activities that people still regularly interact with, and its a decent passive mid-game income source.

That said, its also one of the areas that's REALLY starting to show its age. The last change we've seen for it was adding Starbloom seeds to farming, and the last real update was allowing you to hold Rating at Fort Forinthry.

What with the Mid-game rebalance happening, and the recent graphical update to Waterbirth island - a really random place, though one tied strongly to the Fremennik storyline - I can't help but feel that we might be getting some new Fremennik quests soon.

And IF we DO get those quests, I think it would be a perfect opportunity to bring Miscellania into the modern age.

Effectively a third upgrade compared to what we saw in Royal Trouble.

Some possible ideas we could see.

- +10 workers, for 25 total.

- + 5 Max Workers per plot, to 15 total (this would result in more overall resource from a single plot)

- During the quest, you would attracted more specialized and skilled workers, unlocking New Resources nodes! Some modern resources for a modern game. These are just examples of course. I'm sure others might have better ideas.

  • Wisp Meadow - Allows the collection of several mid-range divine energies, with the occasional memory.
  • Scrapyard - Generates various amounts of Salvage, with a rare "sack of components" that can contain rare components.
  • Archaeology Survey Camp - Various soils with a low chance for direct materials or artifacts.
  • Mineral Survey Office - Rather that ores, this node provides a variety of stone spirits, including a rare chance at Primal spirits.

____

Again, these are just suggestions for a basic upgrade, there's a TON of stuff that COULD be done with the idea, from a total overhaul, to including more "management" systems like Events, contracts, or foremen in the flavor of the archeology teams. But I thought it bet to start the conversation with something more simple at first.

With all the new stuff the DLC introduces, we need a Fantasy one now. Call it "Diving into a New World!"

Isekai Dave!

In all seriousness, loving the new systems in the DLC, even if some of them could be polished more, or have certain, more annoying features adjusted.

All that said, with the story's lore, and the introduction of some of the new mechanics, I think the most obvious direction for the next DLC (or even game) is a fantasy setting.

Dave and crew get sucked into an alternate, magical world connected to a third Divine Tree, (maybe the world where the Trees even come from in the first place) and now have to run an Adventuring Guild (complete with Tavern to feed all the hungry adventurers) while looking for a new way home.

10/10 would play again.

I'm not the best PvEer, but isn't the new Relic a big deal?

The new relic power, Hungry Like the Wolf, removes the adren cost from food.

I'll not pretend I'm a top tier Bosser, but isn't that kind of a big deal?

The primary reason Sara Brews and jellies are so expensive/popular, is that they don't use adren, right?

For those bossers out there, is this as strong as I suspect it is? Or am I missing something?

My favorite part about God of War: Laufey.

Is the community learning its setting is Laufey stuck in an afterlife with all the god Kratos killed. And instead of thinking its just going to be them all trying to get revenge, our first thought is;

A lot of people like to say we're headed in the direction the movie warned about. But lets be real for a moment - President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho was STILL a better President.

While President Camacho is meant to be a caricature of celebrity worship and turning government into a production, and for all his faults and showmenship, lets be real for a moment.

President Camacho... wasn't actually a terrible President.

Not only was he willing to accept that there was a problem he needed help solving, but when someone smarter than him, with answers and solutions showed up, he listened and was willing to try, despite being skeptical.

They COULD have turned him into a corrupt politician type, but I honestly think that in context of his environment, President Camacho was doing the best he could for his country because that's what he honestly wanted.

After getting some advice from this subreddit about how to write an Aussie character, I finally finished the chapter, and wanted to ask for some feedback.

I originally posted the thread below asking about how to write an Aussie(flavored) character for my web novel. I got a lot of good advice on different aspects, and I think I struck a nice balance. Now that I'm finally finished the character's intro chaper and it goes public, I wanted to pop back in and see if anyone would be willing to give the chapter a quick beta read and provide feedback on how I did.

Does he work? Is he to much and and need to pull back some? That kind of thing.

I appreciate anything willing to take the time to do so, just post below and I'll send you a Google Docs link.

Author looking to depict an "Australian" character - What are some tropes of stereotypes to avoid?

So in my novel, the MC is about to meet the tavernkeeper of a liminal space used by mages and wizards on a galactic scale as a meeting and gathering place.

The tavernkeeper themselves, happens to be a powerful mage himself, who specializes in familiars and often takes in familiars who have lost their mages for one reason or another until they can find a new home.

Conceptually, its meant to be based around Steve Irwin, a childhood hero of mine, but in practice I've never written an Australian character before.

I want to do the character justice to both the story, and the inspiration, what are some things I should take note of, or outright avoid, to stop them from just becoming a caricature?

EDIT: I should have specified. When I said "based on Steve Irwin" I' not talking about the TV personality, but rather the man himself, and what he was trying to do.

The story itself is effectively a "magical animal pet shop/rescue" story, and the mage the MC meets is in a position to take in "orphaned" familiars and other such things, with the intention of the meeting for them to partner and use MC's shop to act as a kind of rehab.

When I say "Australian", he's not ACTUALLY Australian in the setting (though that could be a funny Isekai twist), but rather is related more to the connection with Steve himself.

Any recommendations for good teas to brew with Coffee?

So I've been doing a thing recently, where if I find a good bagged tea, or have leftover loose leaf I forgot about, I'll cut the bag open and dump it into my daily coffee grounds to experiment.

I've found some really good combos like this;

Celestial's Apple spice and Bangle spice for one.

I've also found that lavender is really good with a low acid coffee.

While on the flip side, lighter greens or white teas haven't worked as well, I suspect because, in part, that the keurig temp is to high for them.

I've found a few oolongs that do well though.

Has anyone else done this before? What are some good combos you've found?

So I'm always up to try new teas. With that in mind, I picked this Barley tea up at an asian market near me, as Ive heard of it before, but have never had a chance to try it. This particular brand seems to mix whole, fire-roasted barleycorns and some sort of oolong.

As a tea, its not terrible, but I couldn't really make it work for me. I tried mixing it with maple, honey, some fruit syrups and other things you use for typical teas.

That was, until someone recommended seasoning it with... chicken bouillon?

That seemed really strange to me, since you don't typically think of adding chicken bullion to teas. But I figured, why not.

Boy, I can't begin to explain how this changed thing.

A bit of ginger and garlic, a slash of lemon, and just a touch black pepper.

It was a amazing.

In retrospect, I guess I should have expected this. Barley and Chicken SOUP is a rather popular dish. There was just something about it in a tea that seemed strange until I tried it myself.

Now I'm excited to try other types of 'savory' teas.

Though If you want to give this one a try for yourself, I recommend not using very much bouillon at all. Otherwise you just end up with a broth instead.

But who still wrecked everyone they fought?

I distinctly remember this character being just some random, plain looking dude. Might have been wearing a suit or a tract suit.

Yet still absolutely wiped the floor with everyone he fought.

I THINK It was the qualifier round he might have lost because he got a call from his wife or something and had to quit the fight mid way.

He basically shows' up, wrecks everyone while on the phone, then quits. Can't remember if we see him again or he was just a once off gag

I've been trying to find information for a project I'm working on, but I can't see to find anything on them, to the point I'm starting to think it might have been some other, similar show.

Anyone else remember this guy or when he showed up?
