Part of LunaticFringe75's challenge I wanted to try a vanilla build for the first time in a while, and I'll be honest it took some getting used to after using mods. Spent 10 minutes saying "Where the hell is this damn shield supposed to go!?"
Backstory
Neo Galactic 12 - Hummingbird
At the end of the Colony War, Deimos saw their orders for military ships slow to a crawl, and they had been unable to break into the civilian market in a significant way. Manufacturers like Taiyo, Hopetech, and Stroud had the ships that people wanted, but many UC natives were not keen on buying a ship from a Freestar company so soon after the war.
With the creation of the UC Vanguard at the end of the war, Deimos saw an opportunity to branch out. They purchased the long abandoned Nova Galactic shipyard and created a sub brand they named "Neo Galactic" and their first ship was a fighter aimed to attract civilian captains looking to join the Vanguard.
Unfortunately the cost of updating Nova components to modern standards was far greater than Deimos anticipated, plus the old staryard required constant upkeep. They faced numerous delays and cost overruns. A few months after production began spacers attacked and severely damaged the staryard and Deimos abandoned the project as a tax write off.
Just over two dozen Hummingbirds were produced and they have gained a reputation among captains as a powerful and reliable ship.
Reposting because this was removed for rule 10 even though that mod was just mentioned and had nothing to do with the post.
I had been running into issues with my game and downloaded the engine tweaks mod to check the pointer handles, and the highest number in the sequence is 2097150, which is 2 away from the limit lmao.
when I ran it in New Atlantis, it said "Reference Handle Count: 2000125/2097152"
If my game is doomed I might need to console command myself into the unity and disable a large mod that will remain unnamed
EDIT: Thanks everyone for the info, I removed all parts from the ships from the unnamed mod and then deleted the mod, no errors in my save so far, and it dropped my pointer handles from 2 million to 1.7, so I've got some headroom now.
Wanted to take my UFO design from the other day and put a more Star Trek spin on it. Still mostly Falkland parts but the bracers for the engines are from ASC Deimos.
Saw someone lamenting how your ship can't land in this player hideout the other day, then others mentioned that ships could fit inside but only if it's under 40m. Someone else then mentioned that the Orchid is larger than that, so I decided to test it.
Put in my current favorite ship (Made with the ASC Deimos mod) and it fits perfectly. When I tried to increase the length to over 60 it landed outside. Not sure the exact cutoff but 64m wouldn't fit.
