Fuck this homeless ass divorced ass POS mashing low jinrai on me and cornerswapping out of any fucking button he chooses hes still broken and ken players have a mental disorder where they have to convince everyone their character is a hard working Real American Patriot or they die instantaneously.

three simple blocklist rules and ranked is still bad enough that my blocklist has filled up several times over and I feel like LowTierGod

  1. Dogshit connection (ACTUALLY bad as in wifi indicator with latency spikes)
  2. Intentional one and doners (i give them the benefit of the doubt if the timer runs)
  3. Modern (bleh)

like 10-20% of my opponents get blocked. Ranked is full of true animals.

Yasmine is the best designed character they've put in the game so far and I wish every character was designed like her.

A character designed with intentional weaknesses? In MY SF6?

Obvious strengths. Great high/low mix, great anti air game, fantastic off drive rush, good oki, really good demon flip special.

BUT

Short buttons limiting her defense and neutral options and without Bayani mode her damage is poor and she needs to maintain it as much as possible. Her bread and butter using H Alon in Bayani mode makes her damage match the rest of the rushdown characters + replenishes Bayani in the same combo. It also lets her end in either a damaging finisher or have +1 oki with a boomerang out for a great vortex game, BUT this bread n butter requires her to spend a drive bar. This means she's uniquely punished for not managing drive gauge well and especially for being in burnout since her oki and damage becomes much weaker without Bayani H Alon.

Theres another interesting aspect to this where her Level 2 can somewhat workaround this by giving her unlimited Bayani while shes burned out, however OD Alon is the only way to use it in combos as far as I'm aware, plus one of the best buffs it gives her is that it makes OD Alon do even more damage which you now cant take advantage of. So theres an interesting resource/reward interaction there too.

Its amazing to me they put a character with this much thought and caution in the game in the same patch they gave Ryu 50/50 strike/throw mix to remove one of his only weaknesses for absolutely no reason.

I hope she stays like this and instead they tone down the top tiers to be more like her, but from the reactions im seeing online I dont have faith and I think instead theyre going to do something stupid to force her to top tier like give her 3 Bayani charges off of Alon and double her damage.

SF6 sucks and is too casualized and easy! I know what to play instead. Marvel Tokon, a game known for its appeal to hardcore players and ground based footsies!

I know this is Salt Fighter but lets be so fr right now lol.

Vibepollo + Xbox Moonlight stream freezing

Before I try to get logs and raise an issue on the github has anyone else experienced this? At random the stream video completely freeze and I have to fully close the Moonlight UWP app and reopen to fix it. I can hear the audio playing and if I mess with my controller it still works. I cant really get logs for the issue since its so sporadic and also freezes the video output that would show me the logs.

For as much context as I can give: Host has an RTX5070TI Client is a Series S I have the Xbox controller turned off and am using a controller with VirtualHere from a Raspberry Pi Streaming at 4k120fps with 200 bitrate. HEVC encoding

Maybe the bitrate is too high?

This is barely even a salt post this is my unironic opinion Modern should be removed from the game

This is my unironic opinion at this point, when the game came out people thought of Modern as an "easy" noob option to ease people into the game so people were lenient on it as it was seen as not as good as playing "the real way".

As time has gone on that is clearly not the case anymore with this recent EVO not one but TWO modern players getting 9th showing its viable even at the absolute highest level of play.

I float between 1500-1600MR, so I'm not the best but I'd like to think I kind of know what I'm doing. Modern players are absolutely everywhere at this rank, and they are always significantly worse at the game than Classic players. They have a very "play to win not to learn" playstyle and will one and done and go for cheesy reversals far more often. I'm at the point where I just one and done and block Modern players in interest of having fun, they are never fun to play against.

The noob opinion is to think "oh if you're good enough then Modern inputs don't matter!" and I laugh at that opinion. Even the best players in the world will struggle at getting out a reversal super within a 5-frame gap blockstring and you usually have to go for the same blockstring several times against a really good player for them to even attempt something like that, Modern players will mash it out at pure random requiring you to just not even attempt offense and block against these players (EDIT: not to mention with charge chatacters they get to mash reversals without losing charge which is just game breaking). For classic players who don't play charge characters there is a different anti-air input for if you cross them up with a jump vs if you don't, so there is another reaction mixup there that just straight up doesn't exist against Modern players. Again at my rank when someone's mental stack is high enough they'll often fail to anti-air DP in time, Modern that's never the case.

Oh and did I mention certain characters have AUTO HIT-CONFIRMING BLOCKSTRINGS with their Modern autocombo? I've played against several Modern Guiles and Chuns who just walk up and mash autocombo as their main form of pressure. This should NEVER, EVER be the case. The autocombo is a perfectly servicable blockstring and the only limiting factor here is the player themselves not knowing other blockstrings, not the Modern control scheme itself.

Fuck Modern, it sucks to play against and rewards players who don't want to learn. Just rip the band-aid off, remove it from the game and retroactively fix dumb shit that was done to accommodate Modern's limited inputs like Sagat losing kick fireballs and Bison Scissor Kick being a motion input.

JustUnsubbed from ActualPublicFreakouts

I unsubbed from the original PublicFreakouts subreddit because it just became a political sub where people were posting literal public speeches from right-wing politicians that had no public freakout in them.

This sub for a while was good but recently its just become the same as the original PublicFreakouts but with a right-wing spin, its not quite as politicized yet but its gotten bad enough that I'm just unsubbing.

Its got me sad is there anywhere on the internet modern politics won't poison?

Trying to find a way to automatically start HDR on my monitor when launching a game through Steam

I guess this wouldn't be exclusive to OLED monitors but this sub seems like the best place to post this -

So here is the goal - I want to use Steam, pick a game, launch the game, and have it automatically turn on Windows HDR on only my OLED. Then when I close the game I want it to disable HDR on the same monitor. The reason for this is Windows HDR in desktop applications looks absolutely horrible, but HDR is still good enough with certain games that I want it on. I can do this manually through Windows settings but its annoying.

Things I have tried -

Autoactions - https://github.com/Codectory/AutoActions - this was great for a few days but it suddenly stopped working for me entirely, as in I launch the application where I have the action profile set up and it does nothing. I tried troubleshooting it and I think it's just not identifying my monitors correctly, it hasn't been updated in well over a year so I think it's a lost cause with troubleshooting it since the logging hasn't been helpful.

Playnite - this has a feature that lets you do this which works fine but I really only play games through Steam and I don't want to have to get used to a new launcher when I don't need to use it for anything else and there's only a few games I want HDR on for.

HDRtray - https://github.com/res2k/HDRTray - this is useful and while still technically manual it would have been nicer than having to have windows display settings open, however its only able to toggle HDR for all monitors at once instead of one. Unfortunately I have a cheap vertical monitor that has a very fake HDR implementation where I do not want it toggled on.

Is there anything else I can use? I was seeing if maybe there's a way to do this through Steam launch options but couldn't find anything.

Best client devices for Moonlight streaming to TV?

I've been using a NVIDIA Shield forever but recently upgraded my TV to 144Hz, and the Shield can only handle 60Hz. I tried just using the TV's built in hardware to stream and it was pretty unplayable as expected.

Is there any reasonably priced upgrade to a NVIDIA Shield out there? I've heard Apple TV maybe?

Zexion is extremely underrated and not nearly as difficult as other posts I've seen make it out to be

Looking up opinions of Zexion on reddit it seems like the general consensus on it is that its some sort of rage game and I think that's a shame because I really didn't feel that way at all. In fact I played Zexion right after Silksong and I personally am someone who found Silksong to often be far too punishing, and Zexion in comparison felt like a breath of fresh air with its generous checkpoints and in-depth Assist system.

Don't get me wrong, Zexion IS hard. However it's one of those difficult games that really wants the player to succeed and it gives you all of the tools you need. It introduces upgrade mechanics slowly with its game design, it wants you to learn. It puts checkpoints right before and often during bosses. Anytime the player wants a checkpoint it will probably be there, if anything some players who prefer punishing games might find it oversaturated with checkpoints. I think almost anyone can beat Zexion even with no assists enabled.

One caveat I should mention that I think is maybe one reason people have found it so hard is playing the game with bumper-jumper and stick aiming so that you can move while shooting is MANDATORY, not optional. Mandatory enough that I think it should either be the only option or there should be some warning in-game telling you "you will not have fun if you dont learn this control scheme".

In a genre oversaturated by "Soulslike" Metroidvanias and SOTN-esque action RPG Metroidvanias it was also refreshing to play a game so clearly inspired by Metroid, yet still so different. While Metroid will railroad the player into small map segments, slowly guiding them upgrade by upgrade - Zexion takes a different approach by starting out like this for the first couple of hours, and then completely opens up, allowing the player to explore in nearly any direction they choose. The upgrades here are also COOL, they're unique and fun. I won't spoil anything but one particular late-game upgrade is my single favorite upgrade in any Metroidvania, it is so versatile and fun to move around with. If you've played the game you probably know which one I'm talking about.

These boss fights are also, man. I can't spoil it. The dev went crazy with them, that's all I'll say. They're a ton of fun, super flashy and over the top. Almost SHMUP-esque.

I think if I have two complaints with this game that I think are holding it back from being a more popular indie Metroidvania (because I think this game deserves to be UP there, way more than it is), the first is the music isn't that great. It's not horrible, but it's not really listenable outside of the context of playing the game, which I think is a big deal for sales when there's such stiff competition out there. It sounds like a lot of 90s game soundtracks but it can't really compete with anything like Kenji Yamamoto's old compositions or games like Hollow Knight and Nine Sols which had dedicated composers working on them. This isn't really a fair criticism towards a solo dev, but this is one of those cases where I think the game could have gotten even more popular if the music was commissioned out to someone else.

The second is for a game with such wonderful and detailed pixel art the main character sprite themselves looks really bad in comparison. It didn't really bother me as I found its janky appearance endearing, but I think it makes the game look cheap on the steam store page even though Zexion is anything but. They almost seem like a prototype sprite that the dev got attached to.

Either way I would highly recommend this game, I think it's one of my favorite Metroidvanias and is for sure my favorite "Metroid-like" Metroidvania out there.

▲ 1 r/sleep

This repeatedly happens to me where when I try to sleep at night I will wake up very quickly after falling asleep racked with anxiety, usually existential anxiety so its generally about people/pets I know who have died, relationships with past friends that have fallen out, and my own mortality. Not sure if the subject matter matters for this kind of thing but figured to unclude it anyways.

When this happens I have to go do something else to calm down, or take nyquil or benadryl to force sleep if that fails.

Does anyone else experience this? Ive always been an inconsistent sleeper but in the past I've been able to make up for it by sleeping for long periods of time. Now I cant even do that because my body doesnt allow me to go to bed early.
