As someone who loves munch and music and loves to imbibe at said event, would be a lot nicer if it was on a day most don’t have to work the next morning. Alcohol aside, the event can end as late as 10. We all know that an evening event is automatically better if you know you aren’t having to get up early for work the next day….
They also need to add more. Why are there only 6? They should go through a Labor Day.

Getting ready to book soon, have heard good things overall but wondering if anyone here can speak for it. My only two holdups seem to be that I don’t like that there’s no air conditioning in the rooms and that the rooms have no locks on them for some reason.

I’ve recently moved into a new place. It has been good overall until today and I’m feeling kind of unsettled. I am renting from a property management company that contracts with owners for pre furnished properties catered toward travel nurses, digital nomads, etc
. Well, anyways, I get home from a 12 hour day today and when I pull up to the house I first notice that the front blinds are open when I had specifically closed them the day prior. I go inside, and all of the interior blinds are open and it’s obvious someone has been in there. One of my toilet seats were even left up. Now I’m not 100% on this but the other night as well a door was unlocked in the morning that I swear I had locked the night before.
Now I’ve rented from this management company before and have never had issues and you typically don’t even interact with the actual home owners at all during your stay, but as I walked further into the house, there was a note left on the dining room table. It was essentially welcoming me and telling me to call or email the landlord and their partner because there are some niche things about the property they want to inform me about and talk about how things work. Now it’s obvious by the neighborhood I am in, the handwriting in the letter, and the fact they told me to reach out to an aol email that the owners are likely elderly and so I don’t think this was malicious or anything, but this has definitely made me quite unsettled to say the least. I had underwear and stuff out in my room and things around the house. Nothing bad or illegal but obviously things you just don’t want your landlord to see.
I know that generally unless there’s an emergency landlords need to give 24 hours notice before entering. Does this still apply in month to month leases? There’s nothing about it in the lease.

It has been a long term dream of mine to go on a luxury all inclusive African Safari, so much so in fact that I have set aside a special savings account for the past ten years as it is quite expensive (16K USD). My girl and I (26M and F) have been together for 6 years and she has known about this. Well, I’ve gotten to the point where I have enough and I am ready to book it, however, my GF has gotten quite mad at me and states if I go, I have to take her too.
Now I’m totally fine with her coming, in fact it would be awesome, but the safari is all inclusive and the price increases per person, bringing the total cost closer to 30k if she were to come. I cannot afford to pay for us both comfortably. I’ve told her that if she pays for half of her cost, I will pay for the other half, but she is not able to cover that amount. She has been shaming me and stating that it would be a betrayal if I go without her. Would I be the asshole for going?
Went to the box factory for the first time today despite being here for years, parked in the first spot I saw and went in without a second thought. Was gone probably 20 mins max, come back out and there’s a guy issuing fines to probably about 50% or more of the cars there, including my own. $50. Didn’t see the signs for paid parking until I came out. It looks like it’s from a private company not the city, so their authority is limited, right? Thinking of just not paying.
