Looking to get my education in embalming/funeral directing (BC, Canada)

I'm looking to study embalming/funeral directing in BC Canada. I've already tried my hardest to reach out to funeral homes asking if they have entry level positions but everyone pretty much dismissed me and had no interest.

I've reached out to BC Trades and they gave me some info as well as the person who runs the school. I am going to apply for a scholarship if I can and then intake would be spring 2027.

I just feel a bit overwhelmed? I am also really concerned that I won't be considered because of my tattoos. I have them mostly on my arms but my fingers and hands are also tattooed so I can't cover it. Nothing is offensive but I understand this industry is conservative due to the clientele and long standing folks that are still in the industry.

After the passing of my Dad due to stage 4 cancer and then almost losing my son due to a mental health crisis (one after the other) I've seen first hand how important it is to have someone be there at the worst points in your life to guide you and help you. I want to be that for other people but I don't know how to do it.

In so much pain, emergency meds don't work.

I'm Canadian and 32F for reference

When should I be going to the hospital for this? I'm on day 3 or 4, my emergency meds aren't working. I've been in bed for 3 days in agony along with cold symptoms (congestion, sneezing) I've had a fever on and off. My skin hurts to the point I have to have multiple baths in a day because I'm cold and in pain. My eyes also burn.

I can't sleep. The migraine meds made the migraine move on top of my head which I've never experienced before and at the nape of my neck on my left side. I haven't eaten much due to loss of appetite and nausea, today is the first day I managed to eat actual food. I've been drinking water and ginger ale.

I'm in so much pain and sensitive to the light.

(32 F) My periods are so bad the older I get. Should I be concerned?

I'm 32, soon to be 33 and mom to a 15 year old. In my younger years my periods weren't that bad, I never really got cramps.

Now that I'm older I'm constantly bloated, my periods are painful with constant cramping to the point I have to cancel plans. I'm on birth control and have been (progesterone because I have migraines so I can't take the regular estrogen kind) for a number of years.

I had an abortion 2 years ago and after that my periods have been awful. I don't know if I should assume I have PCOS (I am a hairy woman, Italian heritage) or it's my diet or something.

My doctor is a male and I've asked him repeatedly for an obgyn referral with no luck. (They won't contact me for whatever reason). He is also only in office 2 days a week and mostly does virtual appointments. I can't just switch doctors because there is a doctor's shortage and a long wait.

Signed, cramping like crazy and bloated and in pain :(

Created a cute little guest room in my shelter

It took me a bit to figure out but I created a guest room with working privacy curtains and a little change room.

I'm still a noob but I'm pretty proud of this one

Pretty sure I fucked up my own relationship and I'm spiraling

Edit because this is actually ridiculous that people are judging me because I'm a single parent: I've been a single parent for 15 fucking years. I've supported my kid on my own financially, mentally, physically. I live independently, I pay my own bills, I have a full time job. I do not need someone to be the father of my kid. I am mom and Dad. However, my boyfriend ASKED to co parent. Nobody forced him into anything. He's a good dude. Hence me saying I fucked up. Nobody is disputing that, now fuck off with this bullshit please. Love you.

I [33 F] hastily broke up with my [33 M] boyfriend after we've been arguing non stop lately. The last straw was when he said we weren't going to move in together after a year.

I've had the worst year of my life last year. I lost my Dad and my kid (not my boyfriend's biological child) had a mental health crisis. So I was grieving and also surviving trying to keep my kid safe.

I lost my independence entirely as I can't leave my kid home alone. So all I do is work and come home. It's been this way for a year. I was extremely independent and was able to come and go as I please. My boyfriend travels for a living and he's gone for long periods of time. Like a month and then home a week and gone again.

I try my best to support him and his career because he's doing what he loves. But, it's a source of a lot of fights for us as I barely see him and I'm dealing with things alone. I get lonely, which turns into frustration and anger because I have no help with my kid. So I feel like a prisoner in my own house and it's been eating at me.

It's been 2 days. I've been miserable, I talked with my therapist today who said if we love each other we can work it out but that's not realistic. Even though I have valid reasons for being upset he also has valid reasons for not wanting to live together as planned.

He says we've been fighting a lot lately and that's not smart to move in, I say I've been really cool and supportive of your career and living together would help bridge the gap with your schedule at least you would come home to me. So, I exploded. Packed up all his shit and told him to pick it up, was super cold. We gave each other keys back. I cried for hours and drank and went to bed.

Changed my bedroom from a 2 person configuration to 1 and it killed me. We talked on the phone and he said he wants to make sure this is what we both want and it's a mistake we are prepared to make. I think I made a mistake but I was a cold asshole and I don't know how we are both going to rebuild our trust for one another.

I feel like I threw out a year of our life that we built together because I felt left behind and everything else compounded. I'm such a stubborn asshole sometimes I should have just heard him out.

We are supposed to meet tomorrow and talk in person but I think he's going to just say cya and the damage is done. My therapist says I'm too hard on myself but how can I not be when I do stupid shit like this?

My family says it was the right call because he knew from day 1 what my intentions were and what I wanted and he sounded like he wasn't going to commit to me and lead me on. Which is why I ended it to begin with because that was the impression he gave me.

After speaking with him it doesn't seem to be the case or I misunderstood. How do I fix this?

I am loyal to him and I've never/would never cheat on him. I don't think he's that type of person either but if he was this post wouldn't be a thing.

I'm a mess and anxious and miserable to the point I've given myself a migraine.

Is Lasalle College a good college for film production?

I work full time and have a kid so I can't quit my job. As most people during our current climate, I can't quit my job and go to school.

However, my dream is to work in film. I know the industry is pretty bad right now and slowly picking up and I don't NEED to go to film school to work in film but I don't do well in a self-paced learn yourself environment.

I like the structure offered by school. It's like working out at home, I'm less likely to do it if there's distractions and it's self paced but if someone holds me accountable like a trainer then I'm more likely to do it.

I've seen mixed reviews about the school and the program. But it's the only program I've found with flexibility where I can do evening and weekend classes and continue to work.

Before you say it I've already tried to volunteer for indie projects but nobody who I've reached out to is interested in training a noob with no experience.
