How to stay in character?

Whenever i play a D&D game, sooner or later i always start getting out of character and acting like i would in real life. The biggest example is when i was in a villain themed campaign where we were supposed to play a bunch of backstabbing mercenaries. While i talked like a villain i couldn't fully commit to the part and acted like a 100% team player the way i usually do. End result is that i got easily backstabbed at the end. How to get better at commiting to the role i play?

Soon to be 28 year old failure

My 28th birthday is coming up and i am feeling really down on how little i have achieved in my life. I was an ugly loser in my youth so i was excluded out of all the fun in high school and college. Best i could be was the "supportive friend" people come to when they need something. I worked hard to improve my looks but i was doing it trial and error so it only produced results very recently. The few relationships i had were abusive and i'm still a virgin. On top of that i graduated a very weak field, can't land a decent job and have been working for 3 years as a low wage security guard and live with my mother. Recently i tried volounteering at an NGO, get experience and rebrand into marketing but so far this is going nowhere. I only got to do some sample facebook posts that i sent to the boss and that's it. I'm just so fucking miserable and hopeless. I don't know what to do with myself. I don't know if i even want to do anything with myself. I can't cope with missing out on the carefree youth and that at this age it's just career building and serious relationships. And i'm not even very successful at that. Whenever i was bullied or humiliated i fantasised about "showing them all one day" when i'm rich and famous. But at this point the only thing i can hope for is maybe a steady job and that's a big maybe

Too late to enjoy life

I was a loser for most of my life. Ugly and stupid. Nobody respected me, everyone ignored me. Got bullied or abused many times. I was grinding for years to make myself likable and desireable. And i finally did it, people treat me much better now. Except it doesn't matter anymore because i'm an overworked and tired adult and can't find time to just hang out and have fun with people. Here's to everybody who told me those "you're still young bro. You have plenty of time bro" platitudes

Looks do in fact matter

Part vent part bragg. I was really ugly for most of my life and was treated like a loser most of the time. Most people ignored and avoided me. Got bullied fairly often. Wasted my entire youth that way. Eventually i did mobilise myself to self-improve. Lost weight and built muscle. Went through a few plastic surgeries. Got a lot of tattoos and changed my wardrobe. It's like night and day, people treat me much better now. In fact i was at a festival recently and people were openly hitting on me or telling me how hot i am. The night ended with me passing out while making out with two people at once. It was the first time in my life i actually felt happy and valuable.

The vent part is that nobody ever treated me seriously when i complained about being an ugly loser. My family always treated me like an insecure basement dweller who either drives people away with his negative attitude or doesn't talk to people at all. I had to listen to their condescending lines about "just putting myself out there" or "just trying tinder" or sending me to therapy for my obvious delusions, complete with frustrated eye rolling, sighing and an annoyed tone. I was putting myself out there, all it did result in was me getting humiliated but they didn't care. Even when i was bullied they put the blame on me for "hanging out with morons" instead of getting myself "normal friends". And even now when i have actual physical proof that i was right, they still treat me like an insecure idiot and act annoyed at me thinking my looks made any difference

Edit: Speaking of negative attitude, due to how awful the last decade was for me, i'm an absolutely miserable person and look the part. The people i was drinking with at the festival told me this much. And they still kept hitting on me and they still invited me to drink with them and they still were making out with me.

Can you get into marketing with no degree?

I'm in a really bad spot career wise. Got a degree in a weak field that i'm not even very good at. Long story short, i wanted to try and get into digital marketing. My plan was to do an online course to learn the basics and do volountary work at an org to get experience and maybe some achievements. Can i get a job that way or am i just wasting my time? Anything else i could also try?

Had a gay experience, now i'm confused

I had a new experience a few weeks ago which left me really confused. I'm 27 years old and has always considered myself fully heterosexual. However recently i was at a festival where i got drunk and had a lot of fun. There was this one gay guy who was constantly flirtinf with me. And even though i turned him down at first, eventually i told him i want to make out with him. And i did make out with him again when i sobered up in the morning. We're still texting, he's still flirting with me, i can't bring myself to say no and i'm frequently fantasising about making out with him again. It's the first time in years i actually feel happy for more than a moment. This resulted me in questioning myself if i'm bisexual in some way. Some other things that make me think that is that i did start enjoying gay romances in manga a few years ago and one of them did end up as my fictional crush. But i told myself that it's only because the writing is good and guys in manga look like women anyway. I also did start noticing some men for being attractive but i thought it's because i got into working hard on my looks and i simply see them as an inspiration on how i want to look. And the thing is i'm an absolutely miserable person, had some very bad experiences with women and in my former relationships felt tolerated at best. So maybe i'm just so affection straved that i stopped caring where it comes from. Anyone can offer me some advice? I don't like being confused like this
