Hello, I have joined.

I have a question, you say this will have better moderation than r/teenagers, but surely you can't moderate 24/7, at least until you get more mods

biological sex is almost never relevant to anything

No one needs to know that you are MtF, or what your AGAB is, just say your gender. The only people that need to know your sex are your partner and your doctor.

To all the trans people on this sub: you are awesome and cool and valid, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise

To all the transphobes on this sub: stop taking your own insecurities out on other people

Hot take: TERFs are not Feminists.

Feminism is about women having equal rights to men, you can't just pick and choose which type of woman has equal rights, that is ridiculous. It seems like TERFs want trans people to have rights below that of both men and women, which is going completely against gender equality

Manta Ray's resting time reccomendations seem misleading

They roast nordic light for their filter coffees, not ultralight, but nordic beans still need at least 2 weeks usually to be at their best. More interesting than that though is their claim that "Well-roasted coffee should not require an excessively long wait to be enjoyed at its best" as that is provably false with ultralight coffees. They source great coffee and roast it well, but this just seems very misleading to me.

LGBTQIA+ exclusionists are missing the point

Trying to exclude trans people or asexual people from the LGBTQIA+ community makes no sense, and the people trying to do that are actively harming their own community. The point of the movement, and of pride month, is to be accepting of people regardless of their gender or sexuality.

What is your opinion on whether a lot of TV Girl songs are satire?

I know that this has been brought up a lot before, and there are mixed opinions on it. Brad has publicly said that it isn't satire, but when I listen to certain songs (pretty girls cry is a good example) I just think that they have to be satire

Just got a flair pro 2 and pulled my first few shots, here is my experience so far

Just recived my flair pro 2 earlier today and have already pulled 5 shots (all of different coffees), and I have to say I am very impressed. I just guessed at a grind setting for all of them, and they all turned out pretty good.
Shot 1: Zimbabwe medium-dark roast: Just used this coffee to test out the machine pretty much, the coffee is like 4 months off roast I think, so pretty stale. The shot was actually surprisingly good, great texture, a bit lacking in flavour but thats to be expected.
Shot 2: Vietnam fine robusta light roast: Grind was too coarse so pulled an unintentional soup shot. Good flavour, tasted fruits and spices, similar tasting notes with it as I did when I brewed the same coffee as a pour over, but unsurprisingly it had low body.
Shot 3: Ethiopian medium roast: Very balanced, some acidity and some bitterness but neither overpowering with a good body. Notes of dried fruit.
Shot 4: Colombian pink bourbon light roast: pulled this as a turbo shot and it was very nice, syrupy mouthfeel, but I felt that it was lacking clarity.
Shot 5: Indian monsooned malabar medium-dark roast: Lots of crema, very thick. I haven't liked this coffee with any other brew method, but it was actually quite nice as espresso. Tasted earthy and nutty.

first time trying the hoffman v60 recipe

I had never actually tried the hoffman method, despite it being the most popular v60 recipe, so I decided to try it today. I guessed at a grind setting (4.0 on the zp6) and the final draw down was 3:05, and hoffman said to aim for 3 minutes, so I got it pretty bang on. Anyways, the coffee ended up tasting kinda generic. I used a nice nordic light washed pink bourbon, and it ended up tasting like a medium roast blend. It was sweet and had body, I guess, but there was not much acidity or fruityness. Overall 4/10 for me, but people who like more traditional styles of coffee might like it.

Brilliant Silence

Genuinely I think Brilliant Silence is the only example of a mostly positive relationship in a TV Girl song. I could be misunderstanding the song, but it actually seems like an alright realtionship??

Is the zp6 a good grinder for turbo shots?

Would the zp6 be better than something like a K-Ultra for turbo shots and soup? I would assume so, but there really isnt much information available about using the zp6 for espresso. Does anyone here use a zp6 for espresso?

Just bought a Flair Pro 2, is there anything I should know?

Just bought a Flair Pro 2, as it was on sale for $399 AUD, and I am really excited to try it out when it arrives. Is there anything I should know about it?
