You can like Canon and Fanon

I love canon, I love canon a lot. I love Jily, I love Remadora, I love Sirius' faults. But loving a character/finding them interesting is NOT the same thing as condoning their actions.

At the same time, I also really like wolfstar as a pairing, whatever rendition of it we end up it. I don't personally love the way it is commonly depicted/fanon version of their relationship where the core of it is changed, but I do love the ship.

Ik that it's not canon, I have never once proclaimed it to be canon, never will. Ik that they are like brothers in canon and I like that too. I just think that there are elements that can make their relationship really interesting and that me wanting to tweak the story slightly while keeping their canon personalities isn't wrong.

The problem arises when people on purpose deny canon and proclaim fanon to be canon. But if people aren't delusional, then let them believe what they want.

Where and how did Obikin originate?

Like, I'm new to the fanfiction side of THIS fandom and while I have definitely seen ships between 2 people where they knew each other while 1 was a child and the 2nd was an adult, I feel like Obikin is kinda unique?

I can also adopt the live and let live when there's either time travel/aging backward/alternatime timeline/etc. adopted. But this is my first time seeing this type of a ship being so popular and most fics just...keeping to the canon timeline?

Like, yes, ship what you want, but I didn't think this would be THIS popular a ship so if anyone has any explanations? YES PLEASE

Anakin centred, prequel era fics

I'm just getting into star wars and would love some fic recs! I really love Anidala so don't want that ship changed. That being said, I'm willing to read canon compliant plots or AUs.

I would also really love a teenage/younge Anakin fics (between Ep1 and Ep2). I also love Anakin and Ahsoka's bond so anything focusing on that will also be welcome!

I'm mainly interested in Anakin's relationships with Obi-wan, Ahsoka and ofc, Padme, so I'd love fics on that! The only condition that I really have is that the characters should at least be similar to their canon selfs!

Young Dumbledore & Young Snape aren't all that comparable

I have seen this point be made multiple times about how Dumbledore and Snape were both tempted by dark magic, power and then punished themselves for it for years, and yet Dumbledore is forgiven for it and Snape isn't.

Like, no???

Dumbledore WAS tempted, he discussed, he plotted, he didn't actually follow through. Snape followed through. We KNOW that you can't just get cold feet/refuse to do something once you are in Voldemort's service.

That means that Snape must have taken part in at least some atrocities. He must have committed at least some degree of a war crime!

Yes, they both changed, but Dumbledore didn't commit war crimes, Snape did. Yes, Snape redeems himself, but so does Dumbledore.

JILY

Like, seriously. I'd never been into Jily much. I liked it as a ship and thought that it was important, didn't like it being changed, but like many marauders fans I was mainly into remus and sirius (both as a couple/ship and otherwise).

However, this year I got into jily and I swear to freaking MERLIN, I love jily now. I love jily one shots, jily smut, jily everything. And it's so central to the story, even if we never got to see it in action in the books, from the little that we do know SO MUCH can be inferred about the characters.

Also, if you are into jily you must checkout yallthemwitches on ao3. Their writings are amazing. Pls share whatever recs you have, I mostly like canon compliant characterisations with everything else being changed being ok.

Indian schools claim to support Indian traditions and then enforce colonial school rules

If you couldn't get it from the title, I'm talking about hair rules. I get uniform, shoes, etc. etc. but hair?

And all these schools enforce a colonial practice in a country with a history of men with long hair. Like what's the point? It's just a complete waste of time and money. The pointless homework of copying things down that they give us isn't going to affect our studies but hair is. AMAZING LOGIC.

Same goes for girls, how on earth will tying my hair into 2 braids going to do anything other than waste my time and energy?

Blush & Bronzer for Oval Face

Personally, I have an oval face and most of the advice online hasn't really worked for me. I finally figured it out and wanted to share.

I have an oval face, a square jaw line, a fair amount of cheek space (?), no visible cheekbones at all. With foundation/skin tint (removing natural dimension) my features look crowded in the centre. I have a relatively smaller forehead (Low hairline), so my face below the eyes is more than twice the length of my face above the eyes.

One of the most common advice you see online is to put blush horizontally on the centre of the face instead of dragging it upward towards the temple but tbh that doesn't really make my face look wider and more balance, it just emphasizes my square jaw line.

What works for me is basically putting blush not under the eyes/apples of the cheeks at all or just a very slight dusting. Concentrating blush on the temples and the very high of the cheekbones suits my face best and draws attention outward to the sides, thus making my face look wider and more balanced.

I usually blend it downward and put a smaller amount on the lower part of my cheekbone but I don't put it under the eye. I might put a little on the bridge of the nose to add some colour back but I don't blend it to sides of the nose.

As for bronzer, the perimeter of my face (mainly my cheeks) is slightly darker than the centre of my face, as is my forehead. I try to mimic the brownness there with bronzer. The trick is to use a bronzer only slightly warmer/same undertone as you and one that's not too dark for you.

I put it on the sides of my cheeks below the blush and a decent amount on the forehead (but not on the temples). I use slightly more than my natural state on the sides of the cheeks. I like putting a singular dot on my chin and blending it sideways.

Online advice will often tell you to bronze under the cheekbones but if you are someone that doesn't have visible cheekbones then that line of bronzer can just look weird on you instead of natural, as it does on me.

My nose is straight with a slightly bulbous end so I bronze my nose to add dimension back, I bronze the sides of my nose right up to where my eyebrow starts.

I also put bronzer on my eyelids, I feel like that just adds dimension back. Also, because it adds attention back upward, it make my face look less long.

So, that's it!

Why is porn viewed as exclusive to men?

I'm a woman and while I have never been addicted to porn and don't watch it on a regular basis I have watched it and I was turned on by it.

When I was younger I think that porn helped me explore what I enjoyed and didn't enjoy, it also helped me explore my sexuality. Especially, coming from a culture where many mother don't even tell their daughters about periods. (I learned about them from the internet before I got mine though)

I sometimes look it up if I want some new ideas or scenarios.

For me personally, reading smut doesn't have the same effect and the kind of books I read usually don't have smut (even if they have sex scenes it's not smut). Even then smut just doesn't appeal to me, it seems even less realistic than porn.

Most smut is also just really bad writing so I have to stick to the few authors that ik and enjoy (all online on tumblr or ao3), their writings do turn me on.

I'm bi and have never even dated but like if my partner uses smut and porn the way I do and isn't a porn-addict, I won't mind tbh.

I have only ever watched porn after making sure that it was a verified website and that the models had rights and were treated well.

I think that there's a difference between thinking of someone as sexually attractive/appealing and actually wanting to have sex with someone. Like sometimes I will look at a woman in the street and be like DAMN but that doesn't mean I wanna leave my partner(my future hypothetical one) or do anything with her.

Like, do people stop having eyes once they enter a relationship?

Also, why do people so often confuse standards and expectations? Like expectation is something that you don't want/want other people to do.

Standard is something that you set for yourself. Like if you don't want your bf to watch porn, why did you date him in the first place? Break up and date someone else. Don't have low standards and high expectations.

Going back to my original question, why is porn viewed as something exclusive to men when there are women, like me and I'm sure others, who probably view it too. Also, why don't women like watch porn together with their partners? At least a few times? Like, finding good porn ain't much harder than finding good smut.

LA girl green colour corrector or Elf green colour corrector

I have warm olive skin and have been wondering whether i should buy the elf green corrector or the la girl one. Because I have pretty warm but olive skin adding blue to a too orange foundation can sometimes make too neutral, even if I add just a little. I really don't want to have to keep buying both yellow and blue colour correctors, especially because I don't need the yellow corrector for any other part of my face.

I wouldn't have minded a corrector palette but they tend to have greens that are really minty and turn the shade too grey/cool.

Out of LA girl and Elf which one will be more of a warm toned green? I will purchase that one. Please help!
