Chestnut Hill as an early 30s couple - Good or bad idea?
We're relocating to Philadelphia in the coming months, my partner has a job that will require commuting to north-ish Philly. Due to this we were either considering Fishtown or Chestnut Hill. We love the vibes of Chestnut Hill, super quaint and would kill to have an apartment on Germantown.
On the other hand, when we went to check it out, we noticed mostly older people there. While we aren't exactly looking to party, we would love to be involved in communities, meet new people, and make friends when we move. I'm assuming that a place like Fishtown would cater more to that, versus Chesnut Hill. (We also considered Society Hill but with the commute would be too long with traffic).
Does anyone live in Chestnut Hill area and have a thriving social life that doesn't involve commuting into the city to see friends?
Stabbing / Gunshot at Sono mall yesterday 7/27
Saw the cop cars around 8:30 yesterday, apparently incident happened at around 7pm
People interrupting public filming
Came across this video on Instagram of this person recording a TV show (Impractical Jokers) being filmed. Almost all the comments are people saying, who I assume is a PA, is rude and doesn’t have the right to tell someone to leave. As someone who’s done my fair share of lock-ups, the amount of people who disregard my request to not walk somewhere is ridiculous. While I’ve never gotten to the point of trying to physically push them away or anything close to that extent, who knows how this particular confrontation started. This guy could’ve been standing there for ten minutes in the way before he decided to clip his video once the crew member became more stern. People in the comments saying “just buy a studio space or get a permit to block off the street” is hilariously obtuse not only for productions that can’t afford entire studios but we’re talking about Impractical Jokers, a show literally meant to involve strangers who pass by.
Maybe I’m like Principal Skinner and the one actually out of touch on this. What are your thoughts? Could she have handled this better? Have you been in similar shoes as her? I know Instagram and internet comments in general don’t reflect real life, but it still makes me annoyed to see how people react to this sort of thing.
Wave Hill Breads opened TAC Burger next to the Westport Ave shop - Anyone try it yet?
After we lost Taproot and their amazing burgers I thought I'd never see the day. These smashers look so incredible, mouth watering just lookin at em
Both [Lumix 20-60mm + Ttartisan 35mm] VS Just [Lumix 35mm] (Lumix S9)
I'm in a conundrum. I have just around 500 to spend on a lens and was getting the Lumix 20-60mm zoom ($249) & Ttartisan 35mm full frame MF ($189). I figured the zoom lens would give me some flexibility while shooting and the 35mm would be a nice portable lens with vintage styling.
I'm wondering if it makes sense investing in two cheaper lenses. Should I just get the Lumix 35mm fixed lens ($480)? I'm worried about the lack of flexibility of not having a zoom lens, but maybe I can just plan to buy a better, non kit, zoom lens as my next purchase down the road?
Can I really get by with just a 35mm prime? This is probably 70% video and 30% photography. The Lumix 35mm isn't as small too, so I'd be losing a portability when traveling. I just can't help but feel like the Lumix 35mm is the lens worth investing in here.
Two cheaper lenses or one pricer one? (First time S9)

Is your personal gear worse than what you shoot on professionally?
I shoot video professionally but haven't owned a video camera since 2010. Worked for a fashion brand that owned all the gear and now I use Lensrentals at my current company to rent Sony FX6s anytime I need to shoot.
I want a personal camera again but don't have $7k to drop on a camera body, let alone lenses. Considering snagging a Canon R50V and Sigma 18-50 lens (1200 all in). Always preferred color tones on Canon and appreciate that, at that price, it has 4k 24fps with Slog equivalent, 422 10bit color at 150mbps. More than enough for my personal needs I'd think.
I just can't help but shake everywhere online calling this an "entry level" camera, or one that's good for beginner content creators. Should I be upgrading the body here?
Do any other video professionals own gear way below what they're using on shoots? Any insights would be helpful here, even if it's people who also own the camera who have feedback / regrets.

Can I call my Google Home device with a cell phone? No apps, just a normal phone call
I have an eink mudita kompakt phone that is degoogled and therefore cannot get any google apps (no play protect).
Basically, is there some special phone number I can use to dial in to my google home?
Is the Rowayton Farmers Market back yet?
I can't seem to find any information online to confirm they are running it on Fridays yet this year, any insight would be helpful.
