23F here , What part of my posts made them think I was looking for this

Honestly, I’m a little disturbed and confused by this.

What part of my posts wasn't understandable to these people? 😭

I've received quite a few random DMs like this before and usually just ignore them. But these two felt a little too much especially the one inviting me to join them for a foursome. Seeing something like that in my inbox was genuinely uncomfortable.

I've always been very clear about what I'm looking for here. My posts have been about finding a serious relationship, getting to know someone genuinely, and eventually seeing where things go. I've intentionally kept the intimacy/sexual aspect aside because that's simply not what I'm looking for with random people online.

I've never posted saying I'm interested in hookups, sexual encounters, threesomes, or anything of that sort. So receiving these messages honestly made me wonder what exactly did I say that made someone think this was an appropriate thing to approach me with?

And I know people have different preferences. I have absolutely nothing against people who are into casual encounters if that's mutually wanted and consensual. But there is a huge difference between someone expressing their preference in the right space and randomly approaching someone who has never shown interest in it.

Maybe what bothers me most is how easily some people seem to assume that because you're a woman posting about relationships on Reddit, you're automatically open to sexual attention from strangers.

I'm here because I'd like to meet someone, build an emotional connection, feel safe and respected, and hopefully find something meaningful. Not because I'm looking for random sexual experiences.

It can genuinely make you feel uncomfortable even opening your DMs when you don't know what kind of message is waiting there.

I've ignored plenty of these messages, but these felt like they crossed a line for me.

Do other women here experience this too? How do you deal with unsolicited messages like these?

Thanks for reading :)

Looking for advice to land my first marketing job as an MBA fresher

Location - Mumbai

Hi everyone! I’m 22F and currently pursuing an MBA in Marketing. I’m a fresher and looking to land my first full-time marketing role after my MBA.

I’d really appreciate advice from people already working in marketing or recruiters on:

\* What changes should I make to my resume to make it stronger and ATS-friendly?

\* Which skills/tools should I learn as a marketing fresher?

\* Which marketing roles should I target as a fresher?

\* What kind of projects/certifications would actually add value to my profile?

\* How can I make my LinkedIn profile stronger?

\* When should I start applying seriously, and where should I apply?

\*Any tips for getting shortlisted/interviewing as an MBA marketing fresher?

I’m willing to put in the work and build my profile, but I’m a little confused about what exactly I should prioritize right now.

If anyone is willing to look at my resume and give me honest feedback on what I should change/add/remove, I’d really appreciate it.

Any advice, resources, or personal experiences would be super helpful. Thank you! 🙌

Rant

So, I’ve talked to 3–4 guys recently, and honestly, all I’ve encountered are commitment issues, people who can’t look beyond physical intimacy when I’ve clearly said I’m not comfortable with it before marriage, and someone who made a comment about my looks — which, honestly, I can accept because I understand I might simply not be his type.

But what I don’t understand is this: if I’ve clearly mentioned in every post that intimacy is something sacred to me and that I don’t want to go down that path before marriage, why approach me in the first place if that’s something you can’t respect?

It’s not about judging anyone’s preferences. Everyone is entitled to their own boundaries and expectations. But when they clearly don’t align, why waste each other’s time and emotional effort when both people are looking for something completely different?

I’m genuinely tired of having to explain a boundary that I’ve already made very clear.

And then there’s the guy who initially complained that I wasn’t giving him enough time, only to turn around and say,I can’t give time.” Like… what? 😭

How are some of you so inconsistent? If you wanted more time and attention, I was willing to make an effort. But when the same effort is expected from you, suddenly you “can’t give time.”

I genuinely don’t understand this behaviour. How are you guys so fake?

I’m not asking for anything unreasonable — just honesty, consistency, mutual effort, and respect for boundaries. If you know you can’t offer that, why approach someone who has clearly said what she’s looking for?

At this point, I just hope I meet someone who actually means what he says. 😭

I just hope I don’t have to meet someone like this again. Maybe it’s just bad luck.

To the man I’ll choose

Hey , I'm looking for a genuine connection and someone who's in Mumbai or nearby and wants to settle here.

I’ve tried writing posts like this before, and every time they somehow start sounding like a list of requirements.

So this time, I don’t want to write about the “perfect man.”

I’d rather write about the kind of relationship I hope to find.

I’m 22, from Uttar Pradesh, currently in Mumbai pursuing MBA. I’m somewhere between being very ambitious about my future and still getting ridiculously excited over the smallest things. I love meaningful conversations, random plans, good food, music, travelling, and those conversations that somehow begin with something completely stupid and end with us talking about life at 2 a.m.

I can be quiet when I’m meeting someone for the first time. I observe a lot. I take some time to become comfortable.

But once I do?

You’ll probably wonder why you ever wished I would talk more.

I think I’m someone who feels things quite deeply. I remember little details. The way someone said something months ago. Their favourite snack. Something they were nervous about. A random story they told me once and probably forgot about.

And I think that's how I naturally show that I care.

Not through grand gestures all the time, but through the little things.

“Did you reach home?”

“Have you eaten?”

“I remembered you said you had that meeting today. How did it go?”

Sending you something random because it reminded me of you.

Saving a stupid meme because I know exactly how you'll react to it.

Sitting beside you on a bad day without trying to magically fix everything.

That's the kind of love I understand.

I don't need a relationship that looks perfect from the outside.

I want one that feels safe on the inside.

Someone I can laugh with until my stomach hurts, but also sit quietly beside when neither of us feels like talking.

Someone I can tell my fears to without feeling embarrassed.

Someone who can disagree with me without disrespecting me.

Someone who communicates instead of disappearing.

Someone who can apologise without turning it into a competition about who was more wrong.

And someone who understands that being loved doesn't mean being controlled.

I want us to have our own lives too.

Our own friends. Our own ambitions. Our own interests.

But at the end of the day, I want us to still choose each other.

I don't expect you to be perfect.

Honestly, I don't think I am either.

You might have habits that annoy me.

I'll definitely have habits that annoy you.

I'll steal your food and then say I wasn't hungry.

I'll probably send you something at an absolutely unreasonable hour because I suddenly remembered something I needed to tell you.

I'll want random drives, spontaneous plans, long conversations, and sometimes absolutely nothing except sitting together and doing our own things.

And I hope you'll be the kind of person who finds that comforting rather than exhausting.

I want the ordinary kind of love.

The kind where grocery shopping becomes a date.

Where we argue about what to order for dinner.

Where one of us says “five minutes” and actually means twenty.

Where we have inside jokes nobody else understands.

Where birthdays and anniversaries matter, but so does the random Tuesday when you brought me my favourite thing because you happened to think of me.

And speaking of birthdays...

Mine is coming up soon, and maybe that's one of the reasons I'm writing this now.

It would be really nice to meet someone special before then.

Someone who could maybe become *my person*.

And honestly, there's something ridiculously cute about the thought of spending my birthday with someone I've just met, but somehow already feel comfortable with.

Maybe it'll just be coffee and a long conversation.

Maybe dinner.

Maybe a random Mumbai drive with no proper plan.

Maybe we'll laugh about how we met on Reddit.

I don't know.

But if I happen to meet *my man* before my birthday, I wouldn't complain about having a new favourite birthday memory. :)

I'm not looking for something casual.

I'd like to meet someone where the relationship can naturally grow into something permanent and eventually marriage, if we're right for each other.

Not because we have to rush there.

But because I want to date someone who is looking in the same direction.

I don't care if we have completely different personalities.

In fact, I think I'd prefer that.

Have your own world.

Tell me about it.

Teach me things I don't know.

Challenge my opinions.

Make me see something differently.

And let me do the same for you.

I think the best relationships aren't two people becoming one person.

They're two people becoming better versions of themselves while still having a place where they feel completely at home.

So, if you're somewhere in Mumbai or nearby, around my age, emotionally mature, respectful, genuinely looking for something serious, and you believe communication matters more than ego...

Maybe we should talk.

Maybe it'll go nowhere.

Maybe we'll become friends.

Maybe we'll become one of those stories we tell our friends about later.

Or maybe, somehow, years from now, we'll look back at this post and laugh about how strange it was that two people who didn't know each other at all ended up finding each other here.

And if that happens...

I hope you know that before I knew your name, I was already hoping you existed.

So, wherever you are

I hope you're taking care of yourself.

I hope you're building a life you're proud of.

And I hope, when we eventually meet, we both recognise that this is something worth choosing.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Need Career Guidance: MBA (Marketing) Fresher Confused About Where to Start

Hi everyone,

I'm currently pursuing my MBA in Marketing in Navi Mumbai and will soon be looking for full-time opportunities. As a fresher, I'm feeling a bit confused about where to begin.

I enjoy marketing, but I'm not sure what roles I should be targeting. Should I focus on core marketing, digital marketing, brand marketing, performance marketing, social media marketing, CRM, market research, or something else? Which of these fields has good growth, decent work-life balance, and better opportunities for freshers?

I'm also wondering if I should consider switching to another field altogether. If yes, what fields would you recommend that are easier to break into and have good career prospects?

I'd really appreciate advice on:

Which companies in Mumbai hire MBA Marketing freshers?

Which companies have good learning opportunities and growth?

What skills and certifications should I focus on before placements?

What salary range should I realistically expect as a fresher?

Any tips on how to stand out during placements or off-campus applications?

A little about me:

MBA in Marketing (currently pursuing)

Fresher

Interested in marketing and digital marketing

Learning tools like Excel, Google Analytics, Canva, and planning to upskill further.

I'd love to hear from people working in marketing or anyone who has recently started their career. Any advice, company recommendations, or personal experiences would be really helpful.

Thank you!

23F | Looking for a Genuine Connection

Hi!

I'm currently pursuing my master's in Mumbai and hoping to meet someone with the intention of building a serious, long-term relationship that could eventually lead to marriage.

A few things that matter to me:

- Mutual respect is the foundation of any relationship.

- I'd love to be with someone who's open to relocating based on career opportunities rather than wanting to stay in one place forever. I enjoy exploring new cities and believe it's important to grow together wherever life takes us, at least until we feel settled.

- Since I'm currently in Mumbai, I'd prefer connecting with people from Mumbai or nearby. I don't think long-distance works well in the initial stages of getting to know someone, but I'm open-minded enough to give the right connection a chance.

- Ideally, I'm looking for someone between (23 and 28) years old, though I'm happy to be a little flexible if the connection feels right.

If you're kind, emotionally mature, career-oriented, and looking for something genuine, feel free to reach out. Please introduce yourself with your age, profession, location, and a little about yourself.

Looking forward to meeting someone with similar values. 😊

Looking to Make Some Genuine Friends in Kharghar 🌻

Hey everyone!

I'm looking to meet some new people in and around Kharghar. Whether you're male or female, it doesn't really matter to me , I'm just hoping to connect with kind, genuine people.

Would love to hang out, grab a coffee, take a walk around Central Park, explore new places, have random conversations, or simply chill and get to know each other. Life gets busy, and making real friendships as an adult isn't always easy, so I thought I'd give this a shot.

If you're also looking for meaningful connections and good company, feel free to comment or DM me.

Looking forward to meeting some amazing people! ✨

P.S. Please be respectful. Just looking for friends and good vibes.😊

I know leaving him was right, so why does the thought of him marrying someone else hurt this much?

Sorry for the long post, but I really need to get this off my chest because I haven’t been okay emotionally for a long time now.

Ever since I came back from home, and honestly even before that after meeting my ex again this time, I’ve been feeling extremely low. Seeing him affected me much more deeply than I expected. When we met, he hugged moe and I just broke down emotionally. I was crying while holding him, and he didn’t let go until I calmed down. That moment brought back emotions I genuinely thought I had moved on from.

We sat and talked for a while, and then he suddenly told me he’ll probably get married this year or by early next year. Before saying that, he asked me something I was completely unprepared for — he asked if I wanted him to wait for me, and then directly asked if I wanted to marry him.

I said no.

And honestly, I don’t regret saying no because deep down I know I cannot make him my life partner anymore. We aren’t lovers anymore, we aren’t even properly friends, and whatever connection we still have is something I can’t even define. But despite knowing all of that, hearing about his marriage hurt me much more than I expected.

There’s another part of this relationship that still affects me deeply.

When we were together, he wanted to have sex, and he already knew why I was hesitant. I had told him multiple times that I wasn’t emotionally ready and needed time. But the topic kept coming back repeatedly. Eventually, after a lot of convincing, emotional pressure, arguments, and guilt, I gave in because I couldn’t handle the fights anymore.

But when it happened, I wasn’t mentally or emotionally ready at all. I felt disconnected, insecure, scared, and uncomfortable. It physically hurt me, and emotionally I completely dissociated. My body just couldn’t respond with comfort or love because my mind wasn’t fully there.

What hurt even more was what happened after. Instead of comforting me or understanding what I was feeling, he became angry and disappointed. He said things that affected me very deeply, especially because he already knew how insecure I already was about myself and my body.

I’ve never really told anyone this properly, but I’m extremely insecure about my appearance and body. To the extent that I don’t even look at myself properly in the mirror while bathing. That entire experience made those insecurities so much worse.

Even after all this, I never created drama or treated him badly. Eventually the relationship ended because his anger started reminding me too much of the environment I already grew up in. I told him clearly that I couldn’t handle another person in my life who behaved with constant anger and aggression. During one argument he said, “Leave me, you’re of no use anyway.” That sentence broke something in me.

Almost a year later, he apologised and admitted his mistakes. Since then we somehow stayed emotionally connected in this undefined way. I don’t think I love him anymore, but he still holds a place in my heart that I can’t explain.

The hardest part now is accepting that someone else will permanently take that place in his life. Even though I know we cannot be together, the thought of him marrying someone else feels unbearably heavy.

And somewhere along the way, all of this damaged the way I see relationships and myself. I haven’t been able to let anyone close to me since then. I’m scared of vulnerability now. Sometimes I even feel scared about marriage itself because I feel like I’ll never be enough for someone emotionally or physically.

Logically, I know leaving him was the right decision for my peace and self-respect. But emotionally, I still feel hurt, drained, confused, and stuck between missing someone and knowing they were not good for me.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? How do you truly move on from someone you know wasn’t right for you, but still meant so much to you emotionally?

I trusted him for years and now I’m scared of him

I feel sick even typing this.

I trusted this person more than almost anyone. He was my best friend since childhood. I had feelings for him years ago, but life moved on, he dated many girls, I dated someone I truly loved, and I never imagined he would ever hurt me.

Recently my relationship ended and I’ve been emotionally destroyed ever since. I’m still not over it. I was vulnerable, lonely, depressed, and I went to my best friend because I thought he was safe.

He was drunk. I was completely sober.

At first he kissed me. I froze. He’s much physically stronger than me and I felt trapped. Then he pulled me on top of him while lying down and I remember feeling so uncomfortable and confused. I kept hoping he would stop.

Instead he unzipped his pants and told me to give him a blowjob.

I said no. Repeatedly.

He grabbed my hands and forced me to touch him anyway. Then he physically pushed my face down and made me do it. I still cannot believe this happened to me. Someone I trusted for years ignored me saying no over and over again like my feelings meant nothing.

The worst part is that he knew about my past trauma. He knew how broken I already was after my breakup. And still, in that moment, all he cared about was using my body for his pleasure.

When he finished on me I felt disgusted with myself. I wanted to disappear. I felt dirty, numb, scared, ashamed, violated everything at once.

And now my brain keeps torturing me with thoughts like:

“Maybe it’s my fault because I went there.”

“Maybe I should’ve fought harder.”

“Maybe I led him on somehow.”

But deep down I know I said no. So many times.

I went there needing emotional support from my best friend, not to be forced into sexual acts I didn’t want.

I don’t even know how to process the betrayal. Someone I trusted since childhood became someone I’m now scared of in a single night.
