I love my wife, but her communication skills are exhausting

I love my wife, but her communication skills are exhausting. I don't say any of this to hate on her, because she genuinely is the love of my life and she's one of the sweetest people I know. But she's really bad at talking, for lack of a better way to put it. She. Talks. So. Slow. That. Asking. Me. To. Take. The. Trash. Out. Can. Take. Five. Minutes. Not even exaggerating. She'll also just space out in the middle of a conversation and forget everything we've been saying, even in important conversations that require a lot of energy already even without repeating everything. She'll also just say one thing but mean something else entirely, and I don't mean in the stereotypical way that husbands accuse their wives of all the time. I mean she'll ask something like, "Can you drive the minivan to work tomorrow because I'll need the car" and then I'll take the minivan and she'll text me where's the minivan, because she got the minivan and car mixed up in her brain when she asked me. Again, I'm not trying to hate on her because I do love her, but it's just exhausting. And she already knows how exhausting this is for me, and I know she's doing her best, but she's really insecure about all this and has gotten hurt each time I've brought this up. I don't know what to do about this; I can't talk to her about it without making her feel like she's a problem, but I can't keep going like this. It's starting to put a strain on our relationship and we kinda need help before it becomes a bigger problem.

Tl;dr I love my wife, but her communication skills are exhausting, and I'm not sure what to do about it

If Genesis 1-11 isn't meant meant to be literal, what is its purpose and correct interpretation?

To recap, Genesis 1-11 covers creation, sin, Cain and Abel, genealogies, Noah's arc and the Flood, and the Tower of Babel. As a kid, I was taught that this was all meant to be a 100% accurate and literal account of historical events. Now as an adult, I've been shown a lot of convincing arguments within the text that this isn't meant to be literal or historical, but more metaphorical. But if that's the case, what is the purpose of these metaphors?

I'm not asking for evidence that Genesis 1-11 is meant to be literal or metaphorical. I'm asking anyone and everyone who already believes it's metaphorical, what's the purpose of these chapters?

I'm not sure if this question makes sense or not, maybe there's a better way of wording it, but would still appreciate some answers. God bless y'all

Yo Mama jokes (Christian edition

Yo Mama jokes (Christian edition)

This is meant to be fun and lighthearted, I'm not trying to be disrespectful to anyone or anything. As a Christian and a bit of a Bible nerd, I just thought some of these were fun and wanted to share them somewhere. Please enjoy haha

Yo mama so ugly, Joseph didn't even need to run from her

Yo mama so ugly, she put the "men" in sacraments

Yo mama so ugly, Balaam talks back to her

Yo mama so stupid, she thought John the Baptist founded the SBC

Yo mama so stupid, she tried moving a mountain by burying a mustard packet

Yo mama so indescribably stupid, she made Zachariah mute for 40 weeks

Yo mama so fat, she swallowed Jonah

Yo mama so fat, Ehud gave her a message from the Lord

Yo mama so fat, Aaron used her as a model for the golden calf

Yo mama so old, she got Methuselah saying "yes ma'am"

Yo mama so old, she laughed when she found out she was pregnant

Yo mama so biblically illiterate, she doesn’t even get most of these jokes

Am I in the wrong for telling my wife she couldn't make her sister cover up?

My wife and I were visiting her family during the weekend. They live about four hours away from us, and we got there a lot earlier than we were expecting (which everyone was fine with, they're very go-with-the-flow). So my wife's sister (who's an adult but still lives with her parents) was still hanging out with her friends when we got there. When she got home a few hours after us, she was wearing a bikini.

My wife and I are conservative Christians ("conservative" in the religious sense, not political) so we both have the opinion that modesty is important. So we normally avoid going to places where women are likely to be wearing bikinis. When my wife's sister arrived, we paused the boardgame we were playing to say hello to her, then she sat down and joined us.

My wife asked her to put a shirt on as respectfully as she knew how to, but her sister was apparently offended by this a little and said she'd rather not. My wife let it go at first, but after several more minutes she said she'd feel more comfortable if she was wearing a bit more. Again, her sister said no. It turned into a bit of an argument, which is very unlike them. Again, their entire family is very go-with-the-flow so I've never seen any of them argue with each other.

I quietly told my wife it was fine and wasn't worth arguing over. For context, the fight was not yelling and screaming or anything like that; they were both being as respectful as you can be while having a fight. But when I said that, my wife gave me that look that meant I'd better stay out of it, so I stayed out of it for the rest of the argument.

When we were alone in our room several hours later, my wife said she was furious at me for siding with her sister. I'd get it if my wife was mad at me for siding against her in front of her family, but she was much angrier that I was okay with her sister wearing a bikini in front of us. I personally would definitely have preferred that she put on a shirt, but since she doesn't share our beliefs I didn't think it was worth arguing over.

So am I wrong for telling my wife she couldn't make her sister cover up?

Edit: not sure if this is relevant, by my wife's parents are also conservative Christians, and my wife and her sister were not allowed to wear bikinis growing up, but now they're adults so their parents are handsoff with what they wear

Is there a map with two superpowers and a lot of smaller nations?

This was just an idea I had, not sure if it would actually be fun or not, but I am curious if it exists yet. The idea is to have two major superpowers with like six or seven Supply Centers, and a bunch of other players with one or two, or maybe three at the most. Kinda like the Cold War where you got the USA and the USSR vying for dominance over the middle powers and smaller powers, while said weaker powers try to play the big guys off each other to maintain a level of independence. Idk, I thought it would have some interesting gameplay and was curious if this existed or not.

Edit: the Cold War may not have been the best example but hopefully y'all get what I mean

I visited 11 countries during COVID, and my mom passed away while I was gone. AMA

I made a post about this a while ago, but deleted it because I guess it got too emotional for me at the time, so if this sounds familiar that's why. I'm not sure if repeats are allowed, but I didn't see anything in the subreddit's rules saying so, and the previous post was only up for a few hours, so I assume this is fine.

I started a year-long mission trip to Southeast Asia and southern Africa in 2020 (I was 21 years old at the time), but then COVID happened so I had to go home just a few months into the trip. I relaunched in January 2021 with the same organization but a different team, starting in Central America since that were the only available location at the time, but eventually returned to Asia where I had wanted to go from the start. When I left, my mom was in perfect health as far as any of us knew. But in March she was diagnosed with brain cancer, and a few months after that she had passed away.

Ask me anything.

A very random gripe: why did the sets keep getting bigger?

This is something that really annoyed me as a kid, but I've never seen anyone else mention it so I'm just curious if this bothered anyone else: The sets got bigger each year. Like, have you tried playing with Toa Jaller and Toa Nuva Lewa at the same time? Jaller is so much bigger that he's basically a titan set. I tried assembling a Toa team over the years cuz I couldn't afford to get an entire wave at once, so I got two Toa Nuva, two Toa Metru, a Toa Inika and a Toa Mahri. I eventually did get one of each element/color, but it was hard to use that as a single team since their sizes were so obnoxiously different. Did this annoy anyone else, or is this a me problem? Haha

Got my first sets as an adult!

I was introduced to Bionicle at the age of 6 with the Toa Nuva and Bohrok Kal, so to me as a kid the Toa Mata and original Bohrok were inferior prequels with less armor and weaker powers. As an adult, I can definitely appreciate their simpler and more organic design, and always regretted that I never got any of the OGs. But my wife and I found Nuhvok and Gali for $10 each today, and of course I snagged them!

Also, all my childhood sets are in my parents' attic, so this was the first time I got to show Bionicle to my daughter and she thought they were lots of fun!

If you didn't follow the story as a kid, what did you do with your Bionicles?

When I was a kid, the story was infinitely more important than the sets. In my mind, without the story, the sets were just nameless nobodies without personalities, goals, or abilities. The story gave me a framework with which to play with them.

So it absolutely blew my mind when I learned there are people who love Bionicle as much as I do, but didn't follow or even care about the story. So if that was you, what did you do with the sets and toys? Did you make your own story with them, or something else?

How do you get to know God?

How do you get to know God? I've been reading the Bible since I could read and been going to church for even longer than that. So I definitely feel like I know ABOUT God, like I can tell you His characteristics and much of His nature and stuff like that, but I could do the same thing about historical figures I've never met. How do I transition from knowing about God to actually knowing God?

Can you go from Black Sea to Aegean Sea?

I'm kinda new to the game, still figuring things out. An ally of mine is asking me to order a fleet from the Black Sea to the Aegean Sea, but I'm pretty sure fleets have to stop in Constantinople first. Am I right on that, or can you go directly from Black Sea to Aegean Sea?
