Bosch Dishwasher Owners — Is This Actually True?

I recently bought a Bosch Series 6, 14-place dishwasher, and the technician told me something that I’m not completely convinced about.

According to him, I must only use:

  • Bosch / Finish / Häfele detergent
  • Bosch / Finish / Häfele dishwasher salt
  • Bosch / Finish / Häfele rinse aid
  • Bosch descaler

He also said that pods/tablets cannot be used at all, regardless of the brand due to hard water. Apparently, if I use pods or use detergent, salt, rinse aid, or descaler from any other brand, any resulting issue will not be covered under warranty.

This sounds a bit strange to me, especially the part about not being allowed to use pods at all.

For those who own a Bosch Series 6 dishwasher in India:

  1. Is what the technician told me actually correct?
  2. What detergent/pods, salt, rinse aid and descaler do you use?
  3. Have you ever had a warranty issue because you used a different brand?
  4. Does Bosch officially prohibit dishwasher tablets/pods, or is this just the technician's recommendation?

Would really appreciate hearing from actual Bosch dishwasher owners before I spend a lot more on the recommended products.

CRA gave me a $8.2k CCB overpayment notice because they got my departure date wrong (thought Jan 2025 instead of July 2025). Has anyone dealt with this?

Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice or shared experiences regarding a CCB (Canada Child Benefit) clawback notice I just received.

We left Canada on July 6, 2025. However, I just got a Notice of Determination from the CRA stating that I am no longer eligible for CCB as of January 2025 because they marked us as non-residents starting in Jan instead of July.

Because of this wrong date, they are trying to claw back $8,213.02 in total:

$2,876.93 for Dec 2024–Jun 2025 (which we were actually entitled to since we were still living in New Brunswick).

$4,911.55 for Jul 2025–Jun 2026 (which we agree we shouldn't have received since we left in July).

Plus the July 2026 adjustment.

So essentially, we know we owe back the money sent after our actual departure date in July 2025, but they are incorrectly asking for $2.8k back for the 6 months we were still living in Canada.

Does submitting a document/calling pause the payment deadline, or should I file a formal Notice of Objection right away to protect the 90-day window?

What should I do??

I haven’t touched a single penny of it since we left Canada.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Zomato ruined a birthday surprise, and even though I got a refund, I still feel terrible about it

I feel really bad about what happened with my Zomato order today.

I ordered a cake for someone’s birthday. The first delivery partner accepted the order, went to the restaurant, and picked up the cake. Then, for some reason, the order was reassigned to another delivery partner. When the second delivery partner went to the restaurant, they were told that the order had already been handed over to the first delivery partner.

Eventually, the order couldn’t be delivered, and Zomato refunded me. I appreciate that they gave me a refund, but honestly, I still don’t feel good about the whole situation.

I’m not upset about the money. I’m just sad because I ordered the cake for someone’s birthday, and the whole moment was ruined. A refund can replace the money, but it can’t really replace the occasion you were trying to celebrate.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Overwhelmed I need support and suggestions

I really need an outside perspective because I can’t tell if I was completely in the wrong.

For context, I have a 1.5-year-old toddler who is teething and extremely clingy. My in-laws were toxic and harassed me a lot in the past, so my husband and I now live separately. We don’t have any family help, and today my dishwashing maid was also on leave. I also do freelance work that requires at least 3–4 hours of focused time every day.

Today we were expecting guests, so I made chhole puri. I was already rushing because I had to cook, clean, manage my toddler, and get everything ready before the guests arrived. My son was crying continuously, clinging to me, was sleepy but couldn’t fall asleep. I hadn’t even managed to take a shower and was literally stinking. I finally went to bathe, hoping my son would sleep soon so I could finish the remaining work.

While I was in the shower, a young Jain monk came to our house and my husband gave him 15 pooris.

I want to be very clear—I have absolutely no problem giving food or anything else to a Jain monk. I genuinely respect that tradition. But in that moment, I felt overwhelmed because I knew I would now have to make another batch of pooris while juggling a crying toddler, dirty dishes, guests arriving, and everything else. My frustration was never about the monk; it was about suddenly having even more work added when I was already physically and mentally exhausted.

When my husband saw that I was frustrated, he got angry. He yelled at me and said he wouldn’t eat if I continued behaving like this. He also said I was taking my frustration out on our child, which I don’t believe I was.

Then he said something that hurt me even more. He said that from now on we won’t say yes to any guests, no one should come to our house, we won’t give anything to any monk anymore, and we’ll simply say no to them at the door.

That isn’t what I wanted at all. I never asked him to stop helping monks or stop inviting guests. I was just overwhelmed by everything that was happening at once.

My husband has never looked after our toddler alone for more than an hour or two, so I honestly don’t think he understands how mentally and physically draining it is to spend the entire day caring for a clingy, teething toddler while trying to cook, clean, host guests, and fit everything into the small windows when your child is either playing or sleeping. I feel like I’m always rushing because I never know when those few free minutes will disappear.

Now I feel guilty and keep wondering if I’m a bad person, a bad wife, or just bad at managing a household. I keep thinking maybe I shouldn’t have reacted the way I did, but at the same time I wish people understood how difficult it can be to manage everything without help.

Update: I have called him and told him I won’t be cooking tonight

😎

Avoid Jini Photography (science city - Ahmedabad) – Sharing this so others don’t get scammed

We paid ₹7,000 in advance for my baby’s first birthday photoshoot, trusting them with such a special memory. Months later, we still have not received the prints.

We have called many times and sent multiple messages, but there has been absolutely no response. Calls are ignored, messages are unanswered, and there is zero accountability.

What’s most disappointing is not just the delay, but the complete lack of communication after taking payment. Basic professionalism would be to at least respond or provide an update.

Please don’t fall for polished Instagram pictures and curated social media posts. Good photos online can be misleading if the service behind them is unreliable.

Sharing this to warn other Ahmedabad families and parents—be very careful before booking, and think twice before paying any advance. Your money and your memories deserve better.
