Lamps or candlesticks on either side of the Frame TV?

Living room is still very much a work in progress, so ignore the unfinished styling/cords/etc. 😂 I’m mainly trying to decide what should live on either side of the Frame TV. Option 1: tall brass lamps Option 2: clear candlesticks I love the warmth and height of the lamps, but I’m wondering if they’re too much and the candlesticks look cleaner. Which would you choose?

Coffee Station Feedback!

We just added this sideboard for a little coffee station, as we have a smaller kitchen, and I’d love some ideas on how to style it and what to add! I added a few of our plant propagations, mugs, etc. so far. I know the art isn’t right, it’s a placeholder until we find something else that’s larger and more fitting.

What would you rate it out of 10? Anything you would add, remove, or change? Going for a cozy, timeless, collected look (think Nancy Meyers/English cottage rather than modern farmhouse).
Open to constructive criticism!

New Curriculum HMH

Hi everyone, our district is implementing a new ELA curriculum this year, HMH. We have used benchmark for a long time and I’m nervous about this huge transition.

I know some people feel very strongly that they do NOT like HMH, but I was hoping to hear some positives. Apparently they own MAP? I was hoping to utilize AI and technology options through HMH, as I have a lot of students. 5th grade by the way.

By the way, our district is saying we have to use every HMH resource and “use with fidelity” and discourage supplementing with other resources.

I’ve heard lots of negative, now I’m hoping to hear some positives to make the most of it and prepare mentally. What did you like? How did you make the most of it? Any unexpected positives?

TIA!

🐾 Darling Kittens Looking for Their Forever Homes 🐾

We have three DARLING 16 week-old kittens who are ready for their forever homes! These kittens been home raised in a loving home since birth and have received LOTS of socialization, attention, love, and care.

These kittens are litter trained, up to date on all vaccines, and have been raised indoors since birth. They are playful, affectionate, and love being around people.

Our biggest priority is finding families who will love them as lifelong members of the family. If you’re interested, please send me a message and tell me a little about yourself, your home, and any experience you have with cats. Each kitten will go to their new forever home with a handful of their favorite toys!

Please share if you know someone looking for a wonderful new companion! 🩵🐱

🐾 Boots (Female) 👢
Boots is playful, curious, gentle, and thoughtful. She is wary when meeting new pets, but with slow introductions she has done well with our small family dog. Once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality shines through. Boots would be especially happy to be adopted alongside her sister, Bugs, but they do not have to be adopted together.

🐾 Bugs (Female) 🐛
Bugs is the fearless social butterfly of the group! With her big, beautiful bug eyes and adorable little white “milk mustache” marking, she’s impossible not to love. She’s always the first to investigate something new and lead the charge. She is playful, silly, relaxed, and incredibly affectionate. Bugs loves being held, enjoys snuggling, and is perfectly content being cradled like a baby. She gets along wonderfully with well-behaved dogs, big and small. She truly seems to make friends wherever she goes.

🐾 Scooter (Male) 🛴
Scooter is the only boy of the bunch and comes equipped with a nonstop purr engine! He loves to play and is great at entertaining himself, making him a little more independent than his sisters. That said, he’s still very affectionate and enjoys pets, cuddles, and spending time with his people. He also has a beautiful coat that makes him especially handsome.

A small adoption fee helps us place them in committed homes, but our main goal is simply finding the very best match for each kitten. Each kitten will also go home with their current food and a handful of their favorite toys.

Located in East Texas. Willing to meet or transport for the right indoor home.

Please share if you know someone looking for a wonderful new companion! These kittens are beyond precious!

If You Could Choose Your Due Month, What Would You Pick? (Teachers)

Elementary teachers who didn’t return to teaching the following school year after having a baby, I’d love your perspective!
My husband and I are starting to think about timing our first baby. My plan is to not return to teaching the next school year if we get pregnant, so I’m curious whether the timing of your baby’s birth made that transition easier or harder. For reference, I’ve taught 5th grade in a large Texas school district for 5 years, I love my job and school community, but financially we are in a position where I could stay home to raise our baby, and that is what I think I’d love to do, so I’m going into this upcoming school year knowing it could be my last (of course if we do get pregnant).

I kind of like the idea of delivery at the end of the school year, but am curious about logistics if I plan on not returning in the fall and transitioning into a different career eventually.
If you could choose your due month, what would you pick and why? (And yes, I do realize that no matter how much we plan, we cannot control when we will ultimately get pregnant).

I’m especially curious about:
\- managing work demands while preparing for a baby (mentally and physically)
\- mindsets that helped you maintain balance and enjoy pregnancy during the chaos of a school year?
\- Recovery and maternity leave
\- Anything you wish you’d considered beforehand
\- admin support during the year regarding flexibility with appointments and timing (my admin are mostly very supportive, I know I’m lucky).

I’m also wondering about the logistics.
For those who had a baby during the school year and then didn’t return the following year:
\- Was creating long-term sub plans a major hassle?
\- Was it stressful handing over your classroom, technology, and other responsibilities before leave?
\- Did you have to come back after the school year ended to clean out your classroom, or was there another process?
\- Looking back, do you wish you’d timed things so you finished the school year yourself before having your baby, or are you happy with how everything worked out?
- did you feel like you got closure? I love my school community.

I’d love to hear the pros and cons from people who’ve been through it!

Thank you in advance!

ADHD moms: how did you cope with stopping meds after a positive test?

Hi everyone! I’d love to hear from people who have actually been through this. Not pregnant yet, but it’s my teacher summer and we are planning to begin trying. What did you do about Adderall when trying to conceive or after finding out you were pregnant?
I have ADHD and have been taking Vyvanse in the morning and Adderall IR in the afternoon for years (over a decade) and the thought of getting off of it feels extremely daunting, especially as a busy teacher. My OB told me that she’s comfortable with me staying on my medication while we’re trying to conceive, but to stop once I get a positive pregnancy test.
I’m curious what others actually did in real life. Yes, I am aware that some choose to continue taking their meds during pregnancy, but for me personally I feel most comfortable not continuing medication.
For reference, when I have run out of my meds I just feel extremely tired, unmotivated, and emotionally a bit out of control. I’m not the kind of ADHD who will get into a car accident without my meds, I just feel extremely tired and stuck. I teach 5th grade, so my job requires a lot of organization, planning, energy and focus, so I’m honestly a little nervous about how I’ll manage without medication if I become pregnant.
To those with experience:
Did you stop cold turkey or taper?
How did you function at work afterward?
Did your ADHD symptoms get significantly worse?
Did you find any strategies that genuinely helped (routines, exercise, therapy, caffeine, supplements, etc.)?
If you stayed on medication during pregnancy, what led to that decision? Was it recommended by your OB, psychiatrist, or maternal-fetal medicine specialist?
If you stopped, how long did it take before you felt “normal” again?
I’m not looking for medical advice or judgment—just hoping to hear real experiences, what worked, what didn’t, and anything you wish you’d known beforehand.
I’d really appreciate keeping things realistic but also positive.

Thanks so much! 🤍
