Is there overlap from Seasonal Range Tech positions to Forestry, or Should I commit to trying to find forestry positions immediately?

Completed my first 1039 Season this summer in Montana as a rangeland technician after graduating. Really liked the office, employees & the work. I have rehire status for this position, and so I functionally have this position next year, if I choose to do so.

My question is if returning back & getting GS-7 potential as a rangeland technician sort of, compartmentalizes me into range work. I got my degree in forestry, and would like to return to it eventually. It sounds like the government really likes narrow application of skills to define your expertise, and so I'm wondering if It'd be "okay" to return as a rangeland technician next year if it could still keep me moving and allow me to pivot to forestry as a GS-7 & above full time, eventually.

Or if I should just immediately start looking for forestry positions to get into that lane/industry earlier.

What the hell were they going for with the early builds of Portal 2? This footage is freaky as hell.

What are some good human "Actions" to learn animation?

Long-time 2D Artist, interested in getting into 3D Animation. I Know blender fluently, but character animation is a different discipline entirely. I can do the ball stuff, but when I try to translate it to characters there's a-lot more finesse, and a part of it is due to me choosing ambitious actions to animate, things that have a-lot of fine movements I don't have the finesse for. What would y'all recommend to use to learn, simple hand waves, bat swings?

Is this a good 2018 KTM-500 for $6000?

3700 miles, 175 hours.

Upgrades:

Newer seat and foam

All emissions deleted

Aftermarket fuel pump

Radiator guards

Bark Busters handguards

Added kickstarter

Owner says he piddled around forest service trails with it, bike seems cosmetically clean, and the mileage to hours checks out, averaging only 20 mph. Oil changed every twenty hours, valves checked at 1800 and 2800 miles.

Ive heard people getting 400+ hours out of their 500's before a top end is necessary.

Motorcycles / Scooters are always an option for transportation

I see alot of car trouble posts here, and I just want to input that motorcycles, ESPECIALLY scooters, can always remain a viable form of transport, even for Americans.

My family, in rainy East Texas, have given their children motorcycles, or scooters, for their first form of transport for several generations.

3000 dollars will not buy you a good car, but it will buy you a superb motorcycle, and even a scooter brand new. If you live in an urban core it’s even more of a choice!

there are of course trade offs, but poverty finance is all about balancing those trade offs with benefits. Some of these can be mitigated, like adding side and top racks for more storage space.

if you are constantly having car troubles, and can balance on a bicycle, you could be really well served on a Honda Metropolitan, Rebel 300, or Genuine Buddy 125i.

YZ125X Also suitable for the MX Track? Or Vice-versa, is the YZ125 also suitable for enduro racing?

Hello,

Been riding for 13+ years, rode raced on an XR100 in MiniGP for two-years and tracked an SV650 for 2. Interested in getting into dirt, participating in TCCRA on a YZ125. Cross-county racing would be the primary use of the 125, but I'd also be interested in taking it to a track to learn motocross some, would the 125x be fine for that? I know its got a more tame powerband and suspension setup. Or if I were to go with the normal 125, would it be fine for cross country racing? There are alot more normal 125's available than the x on Marketplace.

2014 KTM EXC-500F With 3800 Miles for 6000$, Good buy?

Was interested in either a Husky 701 or CRF450RL for high-end dualie, but this seems to be a wildcard recommendation that a LOT of people are loving. Is this a good model year? is 3800 "high mileage" on this machine?

Thanks a ton.

Is an FZ09 and Husq701 too similar to justify buying an SM?

Hello,

I am interested in a Husqvarna 701 SM, but I am unsure if it really is unique enough of a riding experience to justify shelling out the money for it.

The FZ09 is a hypernaked, has a really upright seating position and gobs of torque. Is there a wide amount of difference between the two to justify spending the money to have both?
