The machine was vibrating a lot, got it checked by the IFB technician. He gave an estimate of 6k to replace the suspension springs and some "SENSOR". Charged 700 for a 30 sec inspection! Felt fishy and got it checked by a local technician. Fixed it under 2k with genuine IFB parts. There was no sensor problem in the first place.
My country seems like a survival game for end consumers. Are we so corrupt!!!
As a techie myself, I see the advancement in the AI world arey mind-blowing. The models are so advanced to a point where only one developer can handle the tasks of 5-7 developers.
No doubt the IT crowd will drink and the economics equations will change in coming years. Society will adapt to the new ways but the millennials will be hit the most in this transition.
Boomers are living their retirement life, gen Z have started new and yet to carry the social responsibilities but we millennials are currently in the transition phase. We have home loans, kids are in school, retirement corpus is still not there, a family to feed and bills to be paid.
Looking into the real-estate price in Bengaluru, I don't think builders are aware of the ground realities or they have some silver bullet, we aren't aware of! Not sure if the government has a clue to tackle this turbulence.
I've already started preparing for the rough days ahead. Moved the investments from IT stocks to gold, cancelled car upgrade, making use of every penny to pre close my home loan, cancelled abroad holiday, limiting lifestyle spending already, slowly making family realise the current situation and kind of making them ready to move to native if required.
It would be interesting to know the thoughts of fellow redditors on the current economic situation.
Hopefully the future won't be ruled by the western AI lords and we can create a better world for the upcoming generation.
As flats bought for end use are more of a convenient & lifestyle choice rather than pure investment, how to calculate the affordability?
It would be very helpful for new and young buyers to decide, if experienced buyers can share the amount they've invested vis-a-vis to their household annual income and net corpus.

First thing first, I'm truly humbled by such a wonderful response to the post. It became my no#1 post & blew out in a good way! I felt the warmth shown by the kind hearted souls, thanks for such kind words.
Now come to the "assumptions" made by few. They had issues with my father & fil chilling, branded us with patriarchy, cheap labour, poor ladies of family and what not. A few actually messaged me as mods were deleting the hate comments 🙂. With so much positivity, few toxic assumptions were making the whole pond dirty. In today's cruel world, the sole purpose of sharing a light hearted moment and the bond of love between saas-bahu was drifting from its purpose. So I had to delete the post.
How few people could be so naive even in this mature sub! It shows the lack of second order thinking and making assumptions of the worst possible scenarios? What they couldn't assume was, fathers are nearing their 70s. Fil is a brain stroke survivor, having neuro issues. He needs assistance himself for his everyday activities. Father is weak with decades of diabetics, recently facing issues with his back leads to back and knee pain. We force both of them to stop doing chores, but still fail sometimes.
People had issues with my mom feeding wife while she was feeding the baby, branding me as a man child, cheap labour and what not. Seriously!!! I came from the office, saw them and felt like clicking. You want me to expect to stop mom feeding her or taking the baby from her on my dirty clothes soiled by hour of bike riding in the dust jungle or should I hire labour who can feed my wife? C'mon, grow up a spine and try to unlearn the obvious. Breathe, pause and don't assume the worst. There's a world beyond the obvious hatred and its built upon trust, love and respect. Now I truly know how fortunate I am to be a part of such a loving family. Again, my heartfelt thanks to everyone for your kind words may be it was my lack of writing skills which could not convey the feelings.
I return from work to this. That's my mom feeding my wife, feeding our daughter and guess what, my mother in law prepared the food. Father and father in law are chilling in the living room over godi media 😉
Later in the evening moms would go for a walk around the apartment chit chatting, God knows on what topics. Everyone is vibing with no drama.

Took this opportunity to switch to purple and got it delivered today. First impressions are great. Let's see how it performs.

My current read, Uncle Tom's Cabin seems a bit engaging for its 80s english, so looking for something simple which could be read during the chores of nourishing my child & wife.
Exactly a week back, we welcomed our little princess and l am on cloud nine since then. There were many happy life moments but this overpowered every damn thing and words fell short to describe this. I was anticipating the happiness of parenthood but I am happily surprised by the zillion of emotions she got with her. It's like meeting a whole new persona in me. While writing this, I just can't stop admiring my little Mihu napping on my chest and making cute noises. Time flies when she is around.
A year back when we bought this flat, it could not kindle that ghar wala feeling. For me, my home was always in my native where I was raised. After her arrival, magically this flat turned a home and I feel the warmth already with everyone busy attending the new member. I'm just loving this chaos. And guess what I never thought of me of this emotional of a person but boy oh boy, being a girl dad is the best thing that happened to me.
