Healthy Additions told me elective C-sections may not be covered anymore, anyone dealt with this?

I was referred by my insurance to Healthy Additions, who assigned me a rep to help throughout my pregnancy. When I mentioned to her about having an elective C-section, she told me that insurance companies may not cover elective C-sections anymore.

Is this true? Would love to hear if you had any push back and what you did or said to be able to have an elective one. Or Dr submissions.

I’m mid-mid 40’s, pregnant through IVF, Crohn’s and a few other things like serious anxiety, etc and really want to chose an elective. I see my new OB next week (currently moving long distance) and she does perform elective C-sections, so I’m planning to discuss it with her, but wanted to hear any real life current situations.

Nuna vs Chicco or Baby Jogger

I bought the Chicco Corso LE ClearTex Travel System on sale for $500 total but thinking to return and get the Nuna TRVL LX stroller and** **PIPA Aire RX + RELX Base at the Nordstrom sale. What is the better option? Is Nuna worth the larger cost? Or keep the Chicco and then get a Baby Jogger in year or so? We live in Florida, close drive to the beach, do not use public transportation, but I do want to take walks in the neighborhood daily and running errands, etc. (also open to other suggestions)

C-section outfit for hospital - boy mom

Trying to figure out the outfits for the few days while in the hospital. I bought a delivery gown that buttons on each side at the top, but I’m also wanting a cute outfit to take photos in. There seems to only be 2 or 3 brands out there that are geared toward this. And most mommy and me are girl colors and ruffles, (which are super cute) but not many boy options. Also should it be solely gowns for comfort for csection or will a cute matching pajama button up top and pants work?
Any other thoughts I may need to know, I’m all ears :)

Best Pump to start: Pumping/Formula only and Breast Aug

What is the best pump to get to start? I get one covered by insurance. I will be pumping and formula combo feeding (not breast feeding). I also have Breast Implants (old) and not sure if that will make a difference.

I read so many mixed reviews of starting with the S1 and others saying they had to go straight to wearables instead.

Would love any thoughts and opinions!

Pump+Formula combo & C-section

I’d love to hear from those who exclusively pumped while combo feeding w/ formula and also if you had a C-section.

Did you try to pump the day of delivery? Did you start combo feeding right away, or did you wait?

My goal is to pump and formula feed for 3–4 months so baby gets the benefits of breast milk, while also supplementing with formula from the beginning. Then I’d like to transition to 100% formula after that.

I’d love to hear what worked for you and any tips you have, especially for recovering from a C-section.

Halo DreamWeave vs Regular Replacement Pad

I bought a used halo swivel 3.0 (not electric version). I need to replace the pad. Is the DreamWeave version necessary or best? If I put both a pad cover and fitted sheet does that negate the purpose of the breathability of the DW? I even see suggestions of putting multiple sheets/covers on to be able to strip one layer off at night to make it easier. Would love thoughts what to actually purchase.

Looking for recommendations for newborn to 12m

I would love some thoughts on good options for a carrier for newborn to 12 months if that is possible?? Safe for csections. I would like something that is a little more convenient and easier to secure than a sling or wrap. I’m 5’7 and longer torso and a little larger chest (34DD before pregnancy but have no idea size now 😅). I was looking at Ergobaby embrace for prime day but I see a lot of people say that is only good for a few months??

Room Sharing + WFH: 3 or 4 bedroom

We’re expecting our first baby this fall and are about to move. We’re trying to decide if a 3-bedroom house is realistic with room-share. Hubs has to have an office and we have a lot of family visits for weeks at a time. We’re only renting for about 1–1.5 years before moving back to our home state, so this isn’t a long-term house.

My husband works from home as a CPA and during busy seasons can work 14+ hour days for weeks at a time, so having a dedicated office is important. My biggest concern is making sure he can sleep and focus on work.

How did room sharing affect the working parents sleep and work schedule? If the working parent worked from home, how hard was room-sharing and sleep when they had busy work periods?

Was a 3-bedroom enough, or did you wish you had a separate nursery/extra room to take the baby when needed? Are we overthinking this and can just make it work for a year, or did having that extra space save your sanity?

I’d love to hear what worked (or didn’t work) for your family!

Did Anyone Combo Feed From Birth Without Direct Breastfeeding?

Hi! I Would love some insight if you did a combo of pumping and bottle feeding without direct breastfeeding. I would like to exclusively pump and bottle feed from the beginning rather than breastfeed directly.

- What were the biggest pros and cons?
- Did you start pumping immediately after birth, and how long did you pump before fully switching to formula?
- How often did you pump in the beginning?

Any tips, mistakes to avoid, or things you would do differently?

I originally planned to go straight to formula feeding, but I’m considering pumping and bottle feeding for a little while if body allows and not put pressure on myself about it. I’m not sure whether that means a few weeks, a few months, or longer, so I’d love to hear from others who started out with a similar mindset and how it worked out for you.

Severe urinary incontinence during pregnancy

I’m currently 20 wks pregnant and dealing with really severe bladder leakage/incontinence. Wondering if anyone else experienced this or found anything that helped during pregnancy.

This is way more than just “a dribble” or normal leaking. If I sneeze, cough, or even move certain ways, I fully pee myself to the point it runs down my legs and literally to my feet. (Happened this morning). It’s to the point i bring extra pants and undies with me everywhere.

I brought it up to my dr and basically got told to wait until after birth, but I feel like there HAS to be something to do during pregnancy too. I know pelvic floor therapy exists, but I’m curious what actually helped you?

Did anyone else have severe bladder issues while pregnant? Did it get better before or after birth? Did anything help reduce it?

Announcing No Baby Shower

Did anyone announce they were not having a baby shower? How did you go about it? Or did you create a list even though you don’t have one? I’ve had a few friends invite me to baby showers lately and I don’t want them, nor family and friends, thinking they didn’t get an invite. I have a lot of friends all over the US because I’ve moved so many times, but only a few very very close friends. I think it would be too hard to figure out where to have one since everyone is so spread out state wide.
