Galaxy rasbora normal behavior???

I have 5 galaxy rasboras (CPD) in my 20 gallon along with 12 chilis, 8 Pygmy’s and shrimp. I’m planning on getting a few more galaxies but I was wondering if this is normal behavior?

I think I have two males and one female but I can’t tell on the other two. It seems like it’s the same one that does the chasing for the most part. Is this an issue? Should I try and get more female than male? It’s kind of hard as I get them from my lfs and they are all mixed. I just want to make sure that if I do get more and they happen to be male will it cause a blood bath in my tank? 😅

Stocking ideas??? Honey gourami?

This is my 20 gallon planted tank it’s about two months old. I currently have about 12 chilis (I think) 😅 they are hard to see sometimes, 5 galaxy rasboras (CPD) 8 Pygmy’s, 4 amano shrimp and 5 cherry shrimp. Is this considered fully stocked?? If not what else can I add? I was thinking of doing a honey gourami but not sure if that’s a good fit for the fish I do have.

Plant suggestions??

So I decided to keep this little guy, I just couldn’t part with this majestic fish. 😅 they don’t lie when they say tanks multiply.. I wasn’t even trying. 😂 he’s in the 6 gallon cube, any other plant suggestions? I want this to be low tech, low to medium light plants. I want an under water plant oasis if possible but I don’t have an eye for what goes well together. I got the ‘Fluval betta premium kit’ and the light seems to be ‘soft glow LED light’ I really don’t want to purchase another light but if I need to, to achieve the look I want I’ll get one down the line as the heater is a little wonky and need to replace that first.

Currently have Val Americana, fern, anubias and tiger lotus in there.

[GA] Irvine CA/OC Area- Giving away betta

I’ve had this boy for about a month and he’s very interactive and always wants to eat 😂

I unfortunately noticed some of my chilis missing and found him actively hunting them. ☹️ I also have pygmys in his tank and he doesn’t bother them at all. I’m in Irvine CA but am willing to meet anywhere in OC or meet half way.

I wish I could keep this guy but am only equipped to have one tank. When I first got him he was all white, he keeps changing his color which is awesome.

Advice on rehoming betta

Any advice on rehoming a betta? I noticed he’s hunting down my chilis :( seems to not care about the pygmy’s. I tried facebook, just seeing if I can try other ideas too. I’m located in Irvine CA.

Help on red lotus, banana plant, and tiger lotus placement!!

I ordered a banana plant and a red tiger lotus and I got an extra plant in my order which was nice.. I think it’s a regular tiger lotus. I’m not sure where I should place them and need help lol. I have the red tiger lotus to the right and same with the banana plant, I am moving the plant pot somewhere else. I have the regular lotus in front of the the drift wood, I know they get pretty tall so I’m not sure where it would look best. My tank is fairly new about a month and a half old and yes my tank is cycled. I included pictures of all three plants and my whole set up. Please help 😁

*also I did see some responses before I delete original post, I was told stills might be better to figure out species, thank you for the responses. 😊

Worms in planted tank!!

Im about two and half weeks into cycling, using fluval stratum capped with sand. A few days ago I noticed a bunch of white moving specs on the glass, I looked it up and it’s normal (I hope 😅) now I see these little guys in there, again I looked it up and it says it’s normal but I just want to be sure. I had my hands in the tank before this video too so any help I would appreciate! I washed my hands after as always.

New planted tank…. need help!

I just started this 20 gallon long tank, started the cycling June 1st. I’m using fluval stratum which are in mesh bags to try and avoid the later mess (which now I’m concerned that might be an issue). I have the chihiro b series light, I started with 30% for the first week and now currently at 60% 6 hours a day. Most of my plants have died which sucks and I’m considering liquid fertilizer but research says I probably shouldn’t. I don’t want to do the whole CO2 setup either.

Plants:

Anubias (doing okay could be better)
Java fern (doing okay)
Val (doing okay)
Mermaid (doing decent which I’m very surprised)
Bacopa (some stems doing great others not so much)
Lemon bacopa (died)
Red ludwigia (died)
Lobelia (almost dead)
Tiger lotus (don’t really know what she’s doing)
Crypt (doing okay)

These are roughly the types of plants I want in the tank but I don’t want them to keep dying. 😭
