leaving acorns for fidelity advice

TLDR the fees and auto invest isn’t worth the subscription, wanted to know if this is how others withdraw.

here is my strategy.

i am opening a fidelity rollover IRA account and going to tell acorns to close my later account and transfer it to this rollover IRA and begin doing my monthly investment with them fee/subscription free. or same thing open the fidelity rollover account and initiate it from fidelity and tell acorns to transfer over. i do not want to trigger a taxable event

second. debating closing out my invest account and transfer funds to my fidelity invest account OR downgrade to the $1 a month acorns subscription. tax implications aren’t crazy i’ve only had this account about a year.

i want to be done with acorns and consolidate it all in fidelity

Help deciding on a budget

From my research i am torn between a QM6k and the qm5k.

the only difference i can really find is the refresh rate (60hz vs 120hz)

I DO NOT PLAY VIDEO GAMES

99% of the time i am streaming movies and live sports (basketball and football)

6k is $699

5k is $549

if i do not see an advantage of the 6k for my needs i dont think its worth the 150 bucks.

i am on a tight budget of 700 dollars and if i can be under budget id rather do that.

anything i’m missing/need to look at more before i pull the trigger on the 5k?

is this a good deal update

UPDATE

ended up taking the deal!

https://www.reddit.com/r/HyundaiTucson/s/ywRXHLTPbp

loving my new amazon gray sel convenience hybrid

OTD 37,470

got a cargo cover, cargo net, front window tint, full tank, first aid kit fix a flat kit and weather mats included.

i’m happy with my purchase and drives like a dream!

so far favorite feature is the custom color lights on the inside and the haptic feedback on blind spot monitoring

only hiccup or issues is my siri doesn’t work but i need to update my phone. and i don’t like the arrow down button in the steering wheel goes to the next song instead of the previous song. also don’t like the audio is on the right and cruise control is on the left. my elantra was opposite. i don’t love the scroll on the steering wheel instead of buttons but that’s me being picky. also my doors won’t lock if door is open but i think that’s a setting i need to mess with

other cars i looked at were rav4 crv and crosstrek. closest decision was a cross trek but the interior on the tucson was the deciding factor.

I don’t need comments in why/why not to get gap insurance. i want the peace of mind with putting a low down payment on a tucson hybrid. i’m getting 2500 off MSRP and .99% interest. i’ve called my auto insurance and they don’t offer gap insurance AND in texas you can’t find stand alone gap insurance.

what’s the lowest i can go for gap insurance through the dealership? 500? can i get a discount if i pay it up front? i refuse to pay more than 750 or i’m walking away.

SEL CONVENIENCE HYBRID 2026

gray interior (been harder to find and non negotiable for me) and choice of silver or gray exterior that’s in stock

including weather mats and window tint

MSRP: 37,690

offer: 35,350

.99% interest at 60 mo

fees 547 (DOC, title, registration, other BS)

taxes (TX 6.25%) 2,209

no down payment needed but i may put 2000 down

i’ve been negotiating with three dealers in my area. this is the only one sending me numbers on paper from the finance guy and has sent me pics of the cars. the others are “looking for the gray/silver” or “only want to talk in person”

should i ask for anything else

i had a price range of 34-40k. the following cars and trims hit all my must haves of gray interior, 450+ miles on a tank, 35 mpg+.

I drive 80 miles round trip per day to work minimum. I go on mid length road trips often. For the past 8 years i’ve averaged 24k miles a year (199k miles on hyundai elantra) because i drive this much im debating if resale value factor is worth it. i’m not in a rush to buy a car but im getting tired of getting calls and texts from salesman everyday that im starting to feel rushed.

from most expensive to least expensive

honda crv sport touring 40,000

pro: smoothest ride by far and felt almost luxury

con: most expensive and top end of my budget, worst on gas at 36mpg (tho some say can get 39) honda longevity has dwindled

toyota rav 4 XLE premium 38,700

pro: reliability and holds value, best on gas at 40 mpg

con: don’t love the interior, doors feel cheep, less smooth ride, don’t love all the safety features that make so much noise, was a miracle i found color and trim i even like that’s in stock

hyundai tucson sel convenience 36,930

pro: least expensive, good on gas 38 mpg, 10 year 100k warranty, previously owned a hyundai so like the brand

con: hate the gear shifter, driving experience is average, lose their value quicker

[US-TX] I am renting a townhome and my landlord won’t let us lock the gate/fence from the inside because we have to allow the lawn maintenance guy to come and cut the grass. and won’t allow us to put a lock on the outside as the crew that comes to cut the grass “changes occasionally” so we can’t share a code or a key.

honestly it is a safety concern as the back gate will sometimes come unlatched with the wind (it’s a cheap handle that’s already broken once) and we have a dog that we let out in the yard we don’t want to run away.

anyone have experience or advice?
