How do I fix a spring loaded car launcher

Image 1, mechanism at rest. Image 2, what’s happening when I try to make it work. Image 3, what it looks like when it does work.

We press it, it doesn’t shoot. The second image shows as far as it goes.

This is a spring thingie for my son’s Spiderman car track that shoots the cars out. Been futzing with it for days and can’t figure it out 😅

Mr. Zion, Pottstown PA. (45 mins from Philly)

Couldn’t manage an aesthetically pleasing photo that would show the detail of this Lego stack stone.

“Spooky” names you like?

My husband and I had a long list of “spooky” names when we found out we were expecting our son. We basically always had his first name picked out, so it was for middle names. I’m just wondering what other “spooky” names are out there/liked!

Ex: our son’s name is October, we call him Otto.
His middle name is Ash, for a character from a horror franchise we love.

Other “spooky” names:
Corbin (baby raven/crow)
Azrael (angel of death)
Carmilla (classic vampire)
Damien (child of Satan)

Edit to add:
Ripley (I know her first name is Ellen but…)
Rosemary

Has generative AI affected your job? If so, how?

I’m just curious! I design headstones for work and recently we have been brought so many generative AI images that families ask us to recreate. Some, absolutely doable. Others, absolutely not. They sure don’t like to hear that though.

7 weeks in, sudden diarrhea?

Hi all!

I am 7 weeks in, first 4 was on 1.5mg and I'm on 4mg now. The only symptom I was really dealing with was constipation but focusing on fiber and water intake helped a lot.

But two days ago, suddenly had very painful cramps that disappeared the second I had the diarrhea. Nothing yesterday, so I figured maybe it was something I ate. Then the same painful cramps today.

I'm still trending down, weight wise. I'm 16lbs down total. I messaged my doctor and am awaiting a response but was wondering if anyone had anything similar?

Thanks!

Rainy day activities for family in Wildwood?

We’re finally having a night away for the summer and looks like it may rain the two days we’re there 🥲

What are your favorite indoor spots to hit in Wildwood or near by? Our son is 3.

Thanks!

West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd PA (very close to Philly)

I wish I had more information on this one. Modern and yet so romantic.

I tried to image search it but couldn’t find anything.

Riverside Cemetery, Norristown PA

There is no other monument that compares to this one, in this cemetery. It’s incredible, and also has electric running to it for light.

Coquito Cheesecake

First three pictures are from the first time I made this recipe over the holidays last year. Last photo is the one I made this week, had a lot less time and I think it shows 🥲

Coquito cheesecake with brown butter and gingersnap crust, for my dads birthday today 🥥

Coquito is basically a Puerto Rican eggnog. It’s usually just around the holidays, with its warm flavors. My dad just loves coconut and thought this would be fun. Bought the recipe on etsy and this is my second time making it!

Armchair Headstone, Eglington Cemetery in South Jersey

One of my all time favorites. There was also a stone with this shaped like a humidor but I somehow didn’t take a picture of it as well. Will try to next time I’m out there.

I work with headstones so just have lots of pictures of interesting ones from my time in cemeteries. I have posted these on my works IG as well, if they come up elsewhere.

Fireplace headstone, Arlington Drexel Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA (right outside of Philly)

Everytime I see this stone while working, I have to stop and appreciate it. It’s a soft marble so it’s slowly losing its detail over the year’s.

Where can I donate school supplies?

I’m in Camden County, wondering if anyone knows where I can directly donate school supplies for the upcoming school year? I usually find this info on social medias but currently taking a small break.

My book club wants to do a drive and donate.

Thanks!

Large down tree at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon PA

It looks almost like a toy on the side the bark hasn’t split

I work with headstones and have a LOT of interesting cemetery photos but don’t want to flood the page, you might see me do a daily post instead lmao

Favorite 1 day/night book?

Not that you can read in a day/night, but that takes place in one day/night.

My book club read was another fluffy smut book and I need some fast paced horror/thriller that moves quickly to rewire my brain.

I just finished Ward D by Frieda McFadden and loved the idea of it, but wooh boy I did not like the book.

Thanks!

Hi!

My son will be 3 in June. I think it may be time to drop his nap because his bed time has been getting later and later. If we wake him up from a nap, he is so upset for over an hour. Kicking, crying, screaming, throwing himself on the floor. It's hard on him and us.

The issue in hand; he falls asleep in the 25 minute car ride home. I hoped that would be a short enough nap where he wouldn't do the same thing, but he does. So I either wake him up and we're juggling an incredibly upset toddler for over an hour, or I let him sleep and it turns into a 2 hour nap. Then, it pushes his bedtime to after 9pm.

Mostly venting, but would LOVE some advice, please!

He's our first so I'm sure I'm doing something incorrectly, or looking at it the wrong way. I am trying to remember that he is HAVING a hard time, not giving us a hard time.

Hello! I included the beautiful cake someone posted in this group! I immediately thought my bestie who's birthday was coming up would love it.

I did flavors on her request; pistachio cake, mango curd, coconut buttercream. Interesting combination flavor profile but I liked it! I cut a dip into the cake. Coated that part with white chocolate. Let the jello cool down and let it set in the fridge. I did add jello to the little fountain toy as well.

This was my first time trying grass and flowers and uh... I need practice hahah

Thanks for looking!
