I have a 2 year old cat named Yuki, and he adores his Purina Pro plan dry cat food. I tried giving him Fancy Feast pate, which is what was recommended for a student on a budget, and he just licks all the liquid off, tries to bury it, and leaves it to rot. He does this with basically all wet cat food brands I've ever tried, though admittedly I've only tried pate because it seems healthiest for them. Any advice? Would love any suggestions for a healthy, affordable flake food or whatever other textures there are, lol :) Thank you!

I couldn't believe it when I saw him! I'm hoping that his lovely foster liked me after we met, and she said she did, so fingers crossed. In the lucky chance that I get to be his mama, is there anything that I should know? So far I know:
Brush coat every week - they shed a lot
Wipe eyes every day - they water often
Prepare for vet bills, and test for PKD
He's likely going to be sneezy and snotty

He's about a year old, and a rather picky eater apparently. He's getting his nares widened in a week or two, and I'll be able to take him home then, provided that I'm chosen. Any other advice that I might not be aware of? Thank you!

What a weird feeling! I heard UCs are back so I logged in to check everything out, lol. Sooo many games are broken, and what happened to Habitarium? I can't find it anywhere - used to be obsessed with it. Also, it's kind of crazy seeing people have like billions of NP on here now...how are y'all doing it!? Any tips to start back up and get the ball rolling?

Hi there! I just got into grad school, so I'm moving into a small studio apartment near campus. It's basically the size of a bedroom and a bathroom, since it's mostly meant for studying and sleeping in like a dorm. I suspect that between grad school and work, I'll be gone 8-10 hours per day, and I worry about my cat being lonely. His name is Yuki and he's 1.5 years old, and since I got him at 5 weeks old he's basically attached at the hip to me, which I love. Follows me everywhere, sleeps on me, scratches the door when I'm gone, stuff like that. With me being gone more often now than I ever was before, I was wondering if I should get him a friend?

He hasn't really been around other cats before, but when my roommate had a cat she kept in her room, he would murr at her under the door over and over and stick his paws under it. However, when she did escape once, he puffed up and froze in place until my roommate grabbed her, but this was when he was a pretty young kitten and she was much bigger than him.

Any advice? Will he be okay on his own, or should I get him a pal? I want to be responsible and ensure that he's happy.

House: Eliot area right by Dawson Park. Single female, would need to take public transit to PSU every day, which I suspect is ~40 min each way. Living with 4 very cool people. Already accepted their offer to move in, and I wouldn't want to renege and make them scramble to have to find someone else. Rent is $100 less than the apartment.

Apartment: Just got an email that my apartment application was accepted. It's The Amy, so a few mins walk from PSU. $100 more, but I'd have my own little studio and wouldn't need to share a bathroom with 4 other people. I would, however, be sharing a kitchen with the whole building. Probably a safer place to live overall.

Which would you pick, if you were a poor college student? Having a studio to myself does seem nice, and I worry about taking 30 min public transit up and back, especially at night near Dawson. But also...I really like these people I'd be living with, and I think it would be kinda healing to live with people versus by myself. I also hear, though, that you eventually start hating people that you live with, and I would never want that to happen. What do you all think? Which would you choose?

Title. Feels bad asking this, since they'd basically been my prime source of (parasocial) entertainment since 2015. Consumed everything I could of theirs: MBMBaM, TAZ, Sawbones, Monster Factory, any individual series by Justin or Griffin, the TV show, etc. Fell asleep to their podcasts every night, since I was super depressed and anxious at the time and listening to them helped me sleep. Used to be a MaxFun member, even, and saw them LIVE in DC! I tried to watch the new Final Pam episodes, and they just...sucked. Anything actually good that I've missed in that time span? I wonder why it is that they fell off so hard.

I'm an individual who will be moving to Portland in the next few weeks to attend grad school at PSU. I am from a smaller town on the East Coast where there really isn't any visible homelessness, and so I'm somewhat naive and inexperienced as far as how to navigate large cities and have "street smarts". I rely on public transit because I cannot drive due to disabilities, and I do not know anyone here, so I'm a bit intimidated coming here. Would you happen to have any advice for me? Where not to go, what hours not to be out, how to be more vigilant, how to avoid fights or drawing undue attention? Any transit tips or places to make friends? My sister is from DC and has some experience with houselessness, and she told me to wear headphones, a mask, and avoid eye contact. I do think wearing headphones would limit my awareness of my surroundings, though, so I'm not sure about that, and I feel like avoiding eye contact with people talking to me would just incite them. What is common sense to you may not be common sense to me, so feel free to share tips.

I do not plan on staying in Portland after I graduate! I'd like to stay in Oregon or Washington State, but the city seems to be going downhill. :( My bestie used to live here ~15 years ago, and it's sad how different it was then. Thank you for your advice!
