Texas Surfing

Desperately need a break from work and thinking about trying out the Texas Coast. I’m originally from CA (loved surfing at San Clemente) and I know the Texas Coast will not be the same. I’m prepared for that. I know surf may be super small too in August.

Is it stole or the the trip to at least hang out in the water? I’m thinking somewhere near SPI? Any recommendations for an air b n b for one person? SPI seems to be the place to try.

Starting Issues

Hey guys,

My ‘99 jeep began not starting last week. It cranks but won’t turn over. When I think it turns over, it’s just accessories on. All the cables are good and grounded, has gas, new starter and ignition switch, etc.

I was messing around with it and found that with the throttle open and pedal pressed, it started up right away. Felt like it wasn’t getting air or gas. I diagnosed it to likely be the idle air controller and had a plan to clean that to see if that fixes it.

However, I went in yesterday to use it and the trick didn’t work. Didn’t want to turn over even with the extra air. Do y’all think my original diagnosis is wrong and I should look elsewhere?

LG Washing Machine “AI”

I’m looking into upgrading my current washing machine and dryer. The top rated ones on consumer reports are LG machines that have an “AI “mode.

I personally am not a big fan of generative AI because of the ethical conundrum of data centers and water consumption and people stopping using their brains.

But from reading the description of these machines, they seem to be more “load sensing” than AI and it seems to be just a buzz word for people to buy it. I feel like this technology has been around for a while in many different machines and now we’re just labeling AI. The machines look great other than that weird option. But my question is do y’all really consider AI in the same way ChatGPT and all these other generative or conversational AI things are hurting our planet?

Women’s Field Watch with Date

Hoping this is acceptable to post here. I’m looking for a field watch under 35mm with the date on it. The majority of field watches I find are for men, and are great, but just too big for my small wrists. The only one I’ve found slightly close to what I want is a Bertucci watch, but I really didn’t like how the style of the watch changed from the Men’s AS-1 to the Women’s MS-1. It seemed to be more “feminine” in a way. I’ve done a lot of google searches for this and am now getting bogged down by sponsored choices, ads, and cookies for the same watches I’ve already looked at.

The best I’ve got so far is a Vayer watch that sits at 36mm. Not end of the world but it would be big for my smaller wrists. I work outside in a tactical field and would like something that fits my wrist. I’d also like to keep it under 200 which may be an impossible ask also. I’m not opposed to vintage or used at all, and have a lot of searches on eBay and Etsy.

Big 7 Bus Bar Question

Hey everyone,

Almost done upgrading to Big 7 Cable Upgrade and see that some folks are mounting the 150 Mega Fuse directly to the bus bar. Can I just use a carriage bolt and a nut to do this or do I need to add a metal piece on top like the other side has?

Also if I’m planning on upgrading the speakers and amplifier, the 150 amp fuse should be plenty still I’m assuming.

Pics for explanation.
