Marc’s Rambling Anger

I know Marc (Netherlands) has been a discussion point here more than other cast members, but I just cannot get over how huge of a red flag he is. Namely, I can see it when he starts screaming at or even calmly rambling at inanimate objects… like screaming/cursing at the church bells or the snide comment when the door stuck on his way to the patio to see her. He is arrogant and condescending in every single scene in my opinion. It’s wild she tolerated it for so long to me!

2020 Kia Niro

2020 Kia Niro LXS Wagon 4D

49,907 miles, under $18k

Current car is a 2019 Subaru Ascent Touring with 92k and trade in with Carvana is $16000. Current issues is that it’s just too big for us, I’m never really hauling anything or even using much of the trunk, and gas feels excessive as I’m driving almost entirely within 10miles of our house on county roads.

So, this car checks a lot of boxes.

Anyone with this car can offer what they love or hate? Maybe you considered it and passed for a specific reason or concern?

It’s our first hybrid, but to be clear I don’t think pick up speed or sport likeness of the vehicle matters much to me.

Hazel or grey?

I’m confused… always called them hazel based on what I’d been told. Then someone tried to tell me they’re grey. Opinions?

Apicoectomy Stitch, 7-Day PO

Had an apicoectomy last Thursday (AM 7 days ago) and I have had a perfectly normal/expected healing without complications. Procedure was to the root of 8 and stitching across the gums of 6, 7, and 8.

The stitch over 7 that sits low has been incredibly irritating because it was long and wrapped around the backside of the tooth. I was looking at the stitch tonight and lifted the tail to see about possibly trimming it. It straight up came out in my hand.

Question: While I am pleased the irritation will likely subside with it gone… was that too soon for the stitch to go??

To clarify why I touched it: I had zero intention of removing it at all or even cutting all the way down. Just trying to help reduce irritation.

Sorry for the weird face I had to make to take a pic and make the gum visible haha!

Perio Cleaning Q

I’ve been debating asking this here for a while but wanted to make sure I had gotten to a new dentist to know for sure what was going on.

Last spring 2025, our dentist of 4-5yrs stopped taking our insurance. My bi-annual cleaning was supposed to be like July/August, so I didn’t have one with them.

Late last November 2025, I finally had an appointment after trying to get into a new one.

* this first appointment was almost 4hrs
* blood pressure check, medication and EXHAUSTIVE medical history review, gum check, and some X-rays
* did NOT get my teeth cleaned. I was told I have periodontal disease and needed a special cleaning. Paid a deposit for that despite feeling unsure… literally never had a dentist be even remotely concerned about my gums.

Additionally, I had trauma to 8 and 9 about 22yrs ago. They were capped like 20yrs ago and have had two root canals on 8. I knew and they agreed that I’d need an apicoectomy at some point soon as well as new caps to do them having been placed a little too far below my gum line. Also, I know I have some older filling being watched for replacements as they approach 20-25+ yrs. I also clenched a lot during and right after pregnancy so we were watching my bottom back molar for a possible cap.

The Nov 2025 appointment was them exhaustively going tooth by tooth telling me why my previous work was so terrible (new information as I’ve had like 3 dentists since much of that was done), they’d most all need redone, and my gums were really bad (maybe 3s and several 4s which I’ve maybe had like one or two 3s ever before).

When the hygienist was going to be 45min late for my scheduled special cleaning, I chose to cancel and shop other dentists. My gut was saying even if they’re right, I didn’t like the approach and felt super stressed about the dentist which historically has.

Last week I had my first appt with a new dentist who did all the regular stuff including a cleaning in about an hour. X-rays showed confirmation of what I’d already known and was being monitored. She rated my gums as 2s with a few 3s (around my caps on 8 and 9) and told me she’s glad I didn’t proceed with the special cleaning because she saw no indication it was needed.

My questions: Is it possible to have gum disease requiring this cleaning in November 2025 and not treat it, but it resolves itself 6-7mo later? Could having the cleaning caused more damage if I didn’t really need it? Was this place maybe just more thorough or maybe scammy?

Painful to Watch

I know these people are cast because they have struggled dating and are somewhat awkward or reserved. That being said, at times I’m finding myself reallllllly struggling to watch and connect. They’re incredibly clueless about interpersonal dynamics to the point of just being so intensely off putting.

Specifically,
* Hyun-kyu being so obsessive about Ji-su and even to the point of waiting around her room hovering over her a lot
* Jae-yun not saying a single word even when asked a question and then the awkward conversations with Yeo-myung
* Min-hong thinking everyone liked her at once in the beginning and then continuing to go for Jeong-mok despite missing the signals
* Sang-ho being told by Ji-su she was not interested and then he decided to keep going for her thinking she was into him sort of maybe

The judges are sooooo graceful and empathetic about it all. I’m not sure I could be that patient and understanding!

Preparing for a Uniform

We’re starting a PreK 3 this fall that has a uniform - albeit very flexible with many options, but a uniform nonetheless. My friends daughter FLIPPPPPPED out getting dressed for the first month and now I’m wondering if I need to sort of do some things beyond my plan for my LO to help with the change.

I’ll preface by saying that my daughter is very easy to dress currently and we usually have to just pick her clothes for her because she just doesn’t care.

Except jeans… Which is why I’m here haha!

The uniform pants are largely khaki and navy shorts/pants with like 5-6 options for tops. She also could wear a true plaid jumper or a polo dress with biker shorts. The khaki/navy shorts are probably the most ideal and the most cost effective.

I’d love ways to prepare her for or get her excited about the uniform. Here’s what I have so far.

* we’ve of course been talking about there being a uniform and why they have them
* we took her to the uniform store to try on and pick out a polo dress and a skort - she seemed excited it fit hahah
* I have a stack of hand me downs that we’re gonna package as a “gift” and make it sort of a big girl celebration
* I had some cute (cheap) bracelets made for her to wear with her uniform with the colors and her name as part of that

Y’all… should we be having her start wearing the shorts now to help her get used to them? What else? I don’t usually overthink sh*t like this but uniforms are just out of my wheelhouse and my friend’s kid reaction has me paused a bit.

Meatloaf

My 3yr old “hates” meat, but begs me regularly for meatloaf (which makes no sense but I’ll take the W). Tonight - after a few nights of asking - I had time to make it for her. She asked no less than 12 times if it was ready and then gobbled up 3 servings worth.

“Thanks for making us meatloaf, mommy!”

“This is the best family”

Setup a fort with my 3yr old yesterday on our bed and the dog was laying with us. My daughter was petting her and whispered “this is the best family.” Needless to say, I cried happy tears and snuggled her up.

Just refinanced for the first time with closing at the end of March. We knew there was a chance we’d get money back from the old mortgage escrow and maybe for overpayment from title company. If we got any back, we planned to stash it in savings or add it to our current mortgage escrow (in event they underestimate taxes and we owe at end of year).

But, we got this letter last week from the mortgage company.

Since then, we’ve gotten $400 back between old loan escrow and title company.

The letter has a lot of words but makes no sense to me. I am going to call customer service to have them explain it to me, but curious if anyone here can help me - what the heck is it actually saying/suggesting?

My hesitation stashing this refund in our current escrow is that it offers us nothing since it’s locked up if for some reason we get a tax bill at some point for the old loan.

I am in serious need of help with jeans… I hate wearing them BUT recent trends are actually more comfortable for me and I’d like to get some help with keep, alter, or donate/return. Some are new and some are older additions.

Each pair is photographed with the exact same pair of under garments and shoes, plus with and without the same top. Just trying to be consistent with what I’d actually put underneath plus give an idea of how it would look with a top from my closet.

Please please be kind. I like my body, but it is larger and people can be cruel for no great reasons. And if you know me, you don’t know me 😘

Recently turned 3F has perfectly fine teeth and we try very hard to follow all recommendations for her health/care, especially teeth. No binky since like 8mo, no bottles since 1, brushing every AM and PM. No other medical conditions that are relevant.

We don’t do much screen time at all and she rarely gets to look at our phones, but I prioritize health more… so she gets to watch clips of Sesame Street or Disney while we brush her hair and teeth before and after bed. It’s helped GREATLY in compliance and made it fun even. Love it.

Butttttttt she has been an absolute lock jaw the last two weeks when it comes to brushing teeth. It’s been brutal and she’s refusing to let us brush… sometimes she’s clamping down so hard that the brush has slid on her gums even despite efforts to be gentle. Of course, this hurts and there are tears.

Open to suggestions of course for other things to help (we’ve tried rawr likes lion, etc but open to anything) but I’m curious if it would be appropriate for something like a bite block to help her keep her mouth open. At least the I can gently brush. It seems wild to consider but I have no idea how else to proceed. I don’t want it to be torturous but I’m at a loss!

Genuinely didn’t remember him episode to episode until the last maybe 2-3. While other performances have felt like decent karaoke as of late rather than feeling like star quality, his performances are more and more memorable. He hits the notes, makes it interesting, has the vibe, etc. Genuinely thought he did the best with Taylor songs this week!!

Irony of my typo! “Braden - My Surprise Fave”
