Make these subtitles make sense

The subtitles seem contradictory. They say that if the enemy understands warfare, terrain, timing, and weather, victory is certain(for the enemy obv), but then warn Ryumon that if their commander isn't wise, he could suffer an even worse defeat. If “their commander” refers to the enemy commander, the logic falls apart, since an incompetent enemy leader should make Ryumon safer, not more vulnerable.
