Hotels in milton?

Hi all,

I have a friend who's going to visit me in Milton for a few days and would like to stay at a hotel nearby. Unfortunately living at my place is not an option.

What are the best hotels in the area that's nice and safe for females? And preferably close to the highway.

Thanks!

Choppy Bluetooth audio on used motherboard

Hi all,

I recently bought a used motherboard, and everything seems to be working ok except the Bluetooth.

When I enable Bluetooth, it takes a while to find devices. And when I connect my headphones to it, the sound is choppy and stuttering. The audio seems to work fine when I plug in my headphones instead.

How can I fix this? Or is this a faulty motherboard?

PC shuts down very quick

I installed a new motherboard (MSI MAGB460 Mortar), and whenever I shut down or restart my pc, it shuts down very quick rather than gradually. The shutdown logo pops up for a sec and then my pc shuts down instantaneously. The PSU also makes a click sound after shutting down.

Is that normal? Or is there something wrong?

Buying a GPU from Walmart in-store?

My local Walmart has a rtx 5070 in store. Is it reliable to buy that GPU in-store? And do they allow 30 day returns for GPUs with no questions asked?

Is a rtx 5070 compatible with my specs?

I'm deciding between getting a 5060ti 16gb and a 5070 12gb, and wondering if they're compatible with my specs and which of the two I should get?

Specs: i7-10700kf, 16gb ram, 1TB SSD, 850W PSU

9060xt random spikes in utilization causing stutters

Specs: i7-10700kf, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd, 850W PSU

I recently got a 9060xt 16gb and I am having stutters watching YouTube videos or scrolling through chrome or just low load desktop stuff. I've even tried Cyberpunk on the lowest settings, and it still has stutters.

I noticed the stutters happen when the GPU utilization randomly spikes to 70%-100% before coming back down again. The CPU utilization typically stays around 25-40% and doesn't seem to spike with the GPU. The temperatures and voltages seem normal too. What could be causing this issue?

I've turned off HAGS and MPO, did DDU and clean windows install. Also the only driver that works for me is the 29.5.2 driver. All other drivers give me driver timeouts or black screens/freezes like crazy.

Returned my 9060xt 16gb. Should I get 5060ti or 9060xt from another brand?

Hi all,

I recently got a Sapphire Pulse 9060xt 16gb which I could not get to work at all. I've tried every possible solution on the internet/reddit, and would still get constant driver timeouts, stutters and black screens under normal loads. After spending a week trying to fix it, I've given up and decided to return it.

Specs: i7-0700kf, 16gb ram, 1TB SSD, 850W PSU

Now, I'm thinking whether I should get a 5060ti 16gb or give the 9060xt another go with the ASRock brand. Thr 5060ti is like $100+ more expensive which is why I'm hesitant on it. My budget is $500-$600 max.

Any thoughts?

Is Monotech Century II Gold 850W a good PSU to buy?

Seems like this PSU has a A- rating on the PSU tier list which is surprising given it's under $100. There seem to be some reviews of it failing on startup or within a few months. Does anyone own this?

Would this be a good PSU to buy? I've also been looking at the MSI MAG A-850GLS for $130 which is stretching my budget. Is it worth paying an extra $40 over the Monotech PSU?

Constant GPU driver timeout?

I got a rx 9060xt 16gb, and i am having constant driver timeouts, stuttering and freezes since I've installed it. I've tried a lot of things including DDU, older driver versions, updating bios and clean install of windows.

Specs: i7-10700KF, 16gb ram, 512ssd and 500W PSU

Is there something wrong with the GPU? My specs? Could it be my PSU?

What GPU should I get?

I have a 2060 Super currently, and looking to replace it.

Specs: i7-10700KF, 16GB ram, 1TB SSD, 500W PSU

Budget: $400

I am also having trouble with a 9060xt 16gb, and thinking it's not compatible with my specs. So any other recommendations are appreciated.

Should I return my 9060xt due to driver issues?

I replaced my 2060 Super with a rx9060 16gb recently and I cannot get it to install the drivers properly. So far, I've gotten the following errors:

"AMD Crash defender has detected an issue with your display driver"

"AMD software detected that the display driver has failed to load on your system"

"The drivers installed are not compatible with the device"

The screen also turns black and stutters after I install AMD drivers.

I've ran DDU in safe mode multiple times (including without internet connection) to uninstall Nvidia and AMD drivers, reinstalled AMD drivers multiple times including trying older version, even tried AMD utility clean up, paused windows updates, took off the GPU and plugged it back in etc. I feel like I've exhausted all options and I cannot get it to work.

I'm very disappointed and want to just get a 5060ti instead.

My pc specs are i7-10700kf, 16gb ram PSU, 500w 80+ gold, 512SSD

Any recommendations?

Burning smell from GPU power connector?

I have a burning smell coming from my GPU power connector area. Since the PCI-E cable from the PSU is connected to it, it also gives off a slight burning smell. But the GPU smell is stronger and consistently there.

I plan on replacing my GPU, but how do I confirm if the issue is on the GPU side or the cable from the PSU?

There is no visible burning/melting that i can see.

Chemical smell from pc?

There were some clicking noises from my pc followed by a strong chemical smell around my whole room. I could not identify which part of the pc the sound or the smell was coming from.

I turned off the pc and cleaned it with compressed air. Now I no longer have any clicking noises but there is still some smell that occurs whenever I have it on, but it is not as strong.

I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff. What could be the cause for this? Should I take it to a repair shop?
