Anyone have a good ortho recommendation in the Heights or Pearland area?

Got a quote from a place in the Heights for braces $6,000 total, and my insurance (Delta Dental) covered $0 of it. Even with their in-house courtesy discounts knocked off, I’m still looking at $5500 out of pocket. Before I commit, wanted to see if anyone’s had a better experience with an orthodontist in Heights or Pearland? if you found somewhere with better pricing? Any recs (or places to avoid) appreciated!.. they quoted me as if my insurance was going to cover $1250 but my insurance doesn’t cover ortho for myself

Looking to buy 2-4 tickets to today’s NPB All-Star Game at Tokyo Dome

Hey all in Tokyo with my son and hoping to catch tonight’s Mynavi All-Star Game at Tokyo Dome. Missed the lottery window and the overseas ticket link is sold out. If anyone has spare tickets (or knows a legit way to grab some last minute), I’d really appreciate it!

Happy to pay face value or close to it. Can meet near the Dome today. Thanks in advance 🙏⚾

Moisture chamber goggles recommendations

Left orbital blowout fracture, lid doesn’t close at night (lagophthalmos). Currently taping shut + Refresh PM ointment — works but leaves morning residue. Doc recommended moisture chamber goggles. Anyone with lagophthalmos have good/bad experiences with these? Tips appreciated

Looking for a comfortable 7-passenger rental for a Houston → Orlando road trip. Kia Carnival, luxury van, or SUV?

Post:
Hey everyone,
I’m planning a road trip from Houston to Orlando with 7 people, including a 4-year-old, for about 5 days.
I was originally looking at a 2026 Kia Carnival on Turo because the rental price looked great, but I realized it only includes 800 miles and the trip will be around 2,000+ miles round trip. With the $0.41/mile overage, the total cost gets much higher.
For those who have done long family road trips:
Would you rent a Kia Carnival, Toyota Sienna, or Chrysler Pacifica?
Has anyone rented a luxury Sprinter van around Houston?
Any rental companies that offer unlimited mileage on vans?

My main priorities are comfort, luggage space, and keeping the total transportation cost reasonable.
Thanks!

AMEX worked on USJ Japanese website when nothing else would .here’s what finally worked

So I’ve been trying to buy the Kids Adventure VIP Tour from the Japanese USJ website (usj.co.jp) for the past few days and could NOT get it to go through. Tried multiple US cards — Visa, Mastercard — kept getting rejected.

Finally got access to an American Express card and it worked on the first try.

Here’s exactly what I did:

Card: American Express

Billing address: I used my hotel address in Japan
Phone number - hotel phone number

Website: usj.co.jp — the Japanese site,

The Kids Adventure VIP Tour is ONLY available on the Japanese site and it’s significantly cheaper than the English VIP tour. We’re talking ¥35,000 vs ¥58,000 on the English site. That’s about $150 savings for the same park experience — actually a BETTER experience since it’s designed specifically for families with young kids.

Flying with a 4 year old

Hey everyone flying ZIPAIR soon with my young son and we booked Row 18 on the left side (aisle + middle seat) with the extra legroom/bulkhead area. I was wondering if anyone has successfully used a small inflatable footrest or travel cushion for their child to sleep on during the flight?

Not talking about a huge mattress setup just one of the compact inflatable supports that fills some of the floor space so my son can lay down more comfortably on the long flight to Japan.

Did ZIPAIR allow it after takeoff? Any issues with the crew or safety rules in the bulkhead rows specifically?

Appreciate any recent experiences/tips.

4 year old at USJ July 2026 Express Pass questions

Hey everyone, heading to USJ July 22-23 with my 4-year-old son. First time visiting. Have a few questions
( I am buying him a studio pass for entry) this is question is concerning an express pass for him. )

  1. Does my 4-year-old need his own Express Pass if I’m the only adult with him? Or can he enter the Express lane with me on my pass as my supervised child?
    1. Height at USJ — my son is approximately 106-107 cm. Does anyone have experience with the height check at Mario Kart and Mine Cart Madness? Is it strictly enforced or is there some flexibility?
    2. Nintendo World timed entry — I have Express Pass 7 which includes guaranteed timed entry. Does my son need his own guaranteed entry or does he enter with me?
    3. Best Express Pass for a 4-year-old — if he does need his own pass, is the Express Pass 4 Race & Theater the right one for his age/height or is there a better option?
    4. July crowds — any tips for visiting with a toddler during peak summer? Best strategy for the day?
