Yaxel Lendeborg is proof that everyone's path is different
[Young] Khaman Maluach says he feels no pressure entering his second season: “Outside noise doesn’t affect me. I just have to focus on staying with the process of really being where my feet are. Don’t overthink everything, and don’t think too far in the future.”
clutchpoints.comTeen buys Wilt Chamberlain’s Lakers jacket at Goodwill for $3, sells for $89.6K
19 year old Quinn Brown found it in a bargain bin at a Portland Goodwill back in January, paid $3.07, and thought it might just be a cool vintage piece to resell.
Turns out Sotheby’s confirmed it’s an actual game worn warmup Chamberlain wore during the 1972 Finals, the series where the Lakers beat the Knicks for their first title in LA. Estimate going in was $150K to $250K but it closed at $89,600 after 48 bids.
Insane profit regardless. Kid said his biggest resell before this was a $250 Sub Pop shirt.

Who would be the better player: Giannis with elite 3PT shooting or Jokic with elite defense?
[Hawkins] Jalen Brunson says the Knicks haven’t decided on a White House visit yet: “That’s something that we actually haven’t discussed as a team… people are making assumptions and saying everything, but together we haven’t discussed it yet. We’ll cross our bridge when we get to it.”
clutchpoints.comThere are only 14 #1 overall picks currently in the NBA and the Wizards and Mavericks have 6 of them
It's kinda bizarre that the Pacers have never had a #1 pick on their roster
[Pereira] Kylian Mbappe reacts after finishing as World Cup’s all-time leading scorer following bronze medal loss to England: “I would have preferred not to be the all-time leading scorer in World Cup history and instead be able to play in the World Cup final tomorrow.”
clutchpoints.com[Pavon] Giannis Antetokounmpo says a call with Pat Riley gave him goosebumps: “I’m so excited. After the call with Pat Riley I got goosebumps. I’m motivated, excited to put on the jersey, and excited to go through tough moments, good moments, all the kind of moments here in Miami.”
clutchpoints.com[Flojo] Khaman Maluach on his top offseason focus: “Being a young kid, when the season gets here, a lot of people are going to pressure up and try to make me turn over the ball. Just got to be able to take care of the ball so my coach can trust me with the ball.”
clutchpoints.comWembanyama’s new deal explained, and why leaving money on the table matters
He signed a 5 year, $252M extension but could have gotten around $303M if he waited and hit certain benchmarks like MVP or All NBA next season. Instead he locked in the 25% max now with zero escalators.
The real upside for the Spurs is 65 game rule related. Without escalators tied to games played, Wemby has zero incentive to rush back from injury for bonus money, which matters a ton given his size and injury history. It also helps San Antonio duck the luxury tax longer and softens the future overlap with Fox’s max deal.
Not quite Brunson level sacrifice but the same spirit. Interesting to see if this pressures other stars around the league to do the same.
