Which coding agent should I buy as a student ?

I am a student from India who is building a voice agent whatsapp based that searches and books train tickets in Hindi. I was building the project for my portfolio and potential side income.

I used anti gravity in vs code. I made nearly half of the project and the free tier got exhausted.

Now, I am confused about what to do ?

Anti gravity pro is for 2k rupees ($20), cursor is 699/month which is around ($6.5),

Other option is to use roo code extension in vs code and use free groq APIs but I doubt free groq 120b param api can do this complex project .

What should I do ?

Jise motivation banakar life set kar raha tha, usne ek line me poora tod diya

Pata hai aaj kya hua? Hey guys, bas vent karne aaya hu yahan kyunki pichle 48 hours me mera poora mental aur physical system crash ho gaya hai.

Long story short: Ek competitive exam fail hone ke baad se main severe depression se jhuhz raha hu. Pichle 2-3 mahino se main khud ko force karke life track pe laane ki koshish kar raha tha—daily 10k steps chalna, padhai karna, self-improvement etc. Par mera subconscious motivation ek ladki thi. Dimaag me chal raha tha ki "agar main thik ho gaya aur life me aage badha, toh shayad humaara kuch ho sakta hai."

2 din pehle main bohot gande emotional breakdown state me tha. Suicidal thoughts aa rahe the aur dimaag bilkul sunn pad gaya tha. Maine usse text kiya—sab kuch bhool kar, just expecting a comforting, warm human voice. Koi drama nahi chahiye tha, bas thodi si gentleness.

Aur usne kya reply kiya? Extremely cold tone me:

"Everyone has problems, tum hamesha rant nahi kar sakte."

Bc, itna harsh reaction? Aur sabse bada irony pata hai kya hai? Uske Instagram bio me likha hai ki she's someone with "High EQ" (Emotional Intelligence). Par jab real me kisi hurting insaan ko thodi empathy dikhani thi, toh direct munh pe darwaza band kar diya. Na koi polite boundary, na koi sorry for her words.

Is reaction ne mujhe biological level pe tod diya:

Kal se bas soye ja raha hu (freeze mode), physical energy 0 ho chuki hai.

Har 2-3 ghante me sudden panic ke saath aankh khulti hai, heart rate fast ho jata hai aur heart compulsively bolta hai uski profile check karu.

Lip ke paas micro-twitching ho rahi hai stress ki wajah se.

Logically mujhe samajh aa raha hai ki maine uski ek perfect image apne dimaag me bana li thi jo reality me exist hi nahi karti. Wo bas mera dimaag ka illusion tha. Wo spark ho sakti thi, par jo mehnat maine ki wo mera khud ka effort tha.

Kal parents ke saath doctor ke paas ja raha hu to fix my sleep and mental state. Par seekh yehi mili ki kisi bhi teesre insaan ko apni life ki driving seat pe mat bithao.

Bas vent karna tha. Tum logon ke saath kabhi aisa hua hai kya ki jisse sabse zyaada empathy expect ki, usne hi sabse rukhha behave kiya?

Note : used ai to articulate my emotions

How do you rebuild when your internal drive collapsed after exam failure, and your external motivation just walked away?

Hey HG community,

I’m posting this because I’m currently recovering from a complete emotional and physical system crash over the last 48 hours, and I realize a lot of Dr. K’s concepts—gifted kid burnout, limerence, emotional avoidance, and dopamine dependence—are all hitting me at once.

The Root Issue: Identity Collapse

My clinical depression started after I failed a major competitive exam. My entire identity and self-worth were tied to academic performance. When I failed, my self-image completely shattered. Ever since, I’ve been carrying deep grief, acute jealousy toward peers who are securing internships, and a constant fear that I won't reach my career goals.

To cope with the internal noise, I developed a need for constant stimulation. I literally cannot study, walk, or sleep without YouTube or music playing. The moment it gets quiet, the feelings of inadequacy and anxiety rush in, so I keep my brain constantly distracted.

The Secondary Anchor & Recent Crash

Over the last few months, I subconsciously transferred my missing motivation onto a girl. I used the idea of her as my anchor—"if I improve, study, and hit 10k steps a day, maybe I can be with her."

Two days ago, during a dark emotional moment, I reached out to her just needing a safe, comforting voice. She responded with cold, dismissive words ("everyone has problems, you can't be ranting all the time").

That sudden rejection sent my nervous system into a complete tailspin:

Freeze Response & Hypersomnia: My body shut down. I've been sleeping almost non-stop out of sheer emotional exhaustion.

Panic Awakenings: Waking up every 2–3 hours in a full fight-or-flight panic, compulsively checking her profile to try to regain control.

Physical Symptoms: Involuntary micro-twitching around my lip and severe fatigue.

Where I'm At Now

Logically, I realize she was just a spark, but the work I put in came from me. I also see that using another human as a sole source of motivation is fragile, and using constant audio is just a shield against processing my past failure.

I’m seeing my doctor tomorrow with my parents to get immediate medical help for the physical crash and sleep disruption. But psychologically, I feel stuck in a loop.

My Questions for the Community:

Dealing with Silence: How do you start stepping away from constant audio/stimulation when sitting in silence brings up intense anxiety and past grief?

Decoupling Worth from Outcomes: If you experienced an identity crash after failing a major exam or career goal, how did you stop viewing yourself as permanently behind?

Shifting Motivation: How do you move away from seeking external validation/approval and build a sustainable internal reason to keep going?

Thanks for reading. Any perspectives or Dr. K frameworks for processing this kind of core identity crash would mean a lot.

20M struggling with family expectations, financial dependence, and fear of losing control over my future

I’m a 20-year-old Computer Science student from a very orthodox family where arranged marriage within the community is strongly expected. I’ve developed feelings for a (girl from other community ) former schoolmate and would like the possibility of knowing her better and dating her someday, but I don’t know if she feels the same.

I’m not planning to propose right now. My immediate concern is that I’m financially dependent on my parents and fear that, in a few years, I may be pressured into an arranged marriage and made to feel guilty for choosing differently.

Because of this, I’ve become very focused on building a career and achieving financial independence so that I can eventually make major decisions about my own life.

I also struggle with depression and anxiety and have had difficult experiences with finances, education, and feeling a lack of control over my circumstances. I think these experiences may be contributing to how intensely I fear losing control of my future.

I don’t want to blindly rebel against my family, but I also don’t want to suppress my own wishes just to avoid disappointing them.

How can I gradually build the emotional and practical independence needed to make my own decisions about relationships and marriage without being consumed by guilt over disappointing my family?

Getting Dharmendra Pradhan to resign won't change anything in the system

I know we all want pradhan to resign and i don't understand why bjp is saving him but the core of education system is flawed.

We need a proper set of parliamentary changes in our education system. We need to bring global experts in education to study our education system for a year and then suggest changes and we need to strictly implement it.

What changes should be done according to you ?

  1. Politicians or families should not own any education institutions or hospital

  2. We need to check the quality of colleges...

  3. We need to promote entrepreneurship and research funding .

  4. Change the mindset of oldies in the system.

M20: Balding since 16. Currently 20. Feeling extremely discouraged.

I, 20M, started facing hair loss around 16. I am 20 now and my hairline is 4-3-4 fingers back and my head all over has diffuse thinning. The crown is in bad condition and I am unable to hide my thinned scalp anymore.

Also, my hair loss is physically painful. It's like someone is physically poking pins on the scalp. This poking pin's pain is constant all over the body.

I have anxiety and depression (clinical) for the last 4 years (taking meds for the last 2 years).

My current medicine is related to bipolar disorder (got to know when I googled it).

Being a student, i don't have money to spend on a dermatologist. I spend a lot of my parents money on my psychiatrist.

I am obese (35 kg overweight).

Thyroid results came normal today.

The problem is people mock me a lot. They pass a lot of comments on my looks , balding and my weird behaviour (due to my anxiety).

What to do ? .

Not getting FastApi suggestions even after everything is right

I'm learning Python backend development with FastAPI and Pydantic.

VS Code, Python extension, and Pylance are installed and enabled. My virtual environment is selected correctly, and FastAPI/Pydantic code runs without any issues.

Autocomplete works for built-in Python objects:

my_string = "hello"

my_string.

I get suggestions like upper(), strip(), etc.

But autocomplete does not work for installed packages:

import fastapi

fastapi.

No suggestions.

from fastapi import F

Pressing Ctrl + Space shows no suggestions.

Similarly, inside:

Field(

I don't get parameter suggestions like min_length, max_length, etc.

There are no import errors, and the code runs correctly. Has anyone seen Pylance work for built-in types but not provide autocomplete for third-party packages?

(Used chatgpt to summarise this, don't blame me)

Suggest a laptop around Rs.80k

Use case: Programming and exploring opportunities as well. I have been learning self programming for the last 2 years. Web dev, ai agents, backend engineering and might need docker in a few months.

I need something with a good battery, ram, and storage..

Also, my eyes are weak so I need recommendations for some good screens.

Laptops that I have found (around the budget are):-

  1. Lenovo IdeaPad slim 5 oled

  2. Lenovo yoga intel ultra core 5

  3. Asus vivobook s14

  4. Another option is refurbished macbook air m4 (16/512)

IdeaPad seems good but feels generic and not sure about its battery life?

Yoga seems expensive and I'm not sure about it. I need to know more about it.

Reddit complains about vivobook's battery issues..

So, do you have any recommendations and thoughts on these options.

My doctor says I give up very easily (20M). what to do ?

I, 20 M, have been visiting a psychiatrist for more than 18+ months and taking medicines. Multiple medicines. My psychiatrist says you have the habit of giving up way too early. The same thing my parents say to me. I don't try hard enough.

I don't know but I kind of agree. Maybe I am lazy or I don't know what's wrong with me. But i cannot try anything.

My doctor has given up on making me a social person again. Every time he asks about whether I met any friends, i say no and hence he has lost hope of me socialising. He says forget socialising you should first learn to be ok by yourself and have the ability to do your work without giving up.

Recently, I went to my native place and hated my experience with people. They troll me for my skin color, hair loss at 20, eyes (I am left eye blind and slowly that eye is becoming smaller), weight (i cannot reduce my weight, I changed my diet and it still doesn't work), etc. I hate everyone and myself. I got no hopes from myself.

And then my doctor says you give up too easily..

--------------------------------------------------

Extra rant:-

I want to continue my programming studying which is mostly done from YouTube and chatgpt. I don't put in efforts. I cannot physically put more hours in. I cannot work.
