I mean the modern version where families introduce two people, they get to know each other, and both have the freedom to say yes or no. I had a teacher who said we should respect women because they are the source of life and can give birth. He also spoke very highly of his mother and admired women's role in society.
While I agree that pregnancy and childbirth are remarkable, I felt that reducing respect for women mainly to their ability to give birth is incomplete. Shouldn't women be respected as individuals regardless of whether they become mothers or can have children? Similarly, shouldn't men also be respected for reasons beyond traditional gender roles? I'm curious how feminists here view this.

I have CRL 72k in JEE Main and belong to the EWS category. I am likely to get CSE at MMMUT Gorakhpur.
I am from Lucknow and would have to stay in the hostel. The low fees of MMMUT are a major factor for me, but I want to know the ground reality before taking admission.
I would be grateful if CSE seniors could answer a few questions:
How is the current placement scenario for CSE?
What percentage of students get decent placements?
How strong is the coding culture and competitive programming environment?
Are professors and academics supportive?
How are the hostels, mess, and campus life?
What should a fresher definitely know before joining?

How do you face teachers who had very high expectations from you after not performing as expected?
I used to be the “star student” in my class and one of my teachers’ favorites. Everyone expected me to crack JEE Advanced, including myself. I worked hard and even did well academically overall, but I didn’t qualify Adv in the end.
Now I feel like I shattered everyone’s confidence in me, especially my teachers’. Facing them feels awkward because I know they expected much more from me.
For people who went through something similar — how did you deal with that feeling? Did it get better with time?
Do quiet/serious guys usually come across as intimidating or emotionally unavailable at first?
I’m 19M, generally socially confident, but around girls I genuinely like I become quieter initially. Most people think I look serious/intense when I’m not smiling, and from a distance I probably look like I’m overthinking something even when I’m relaxed.
Once I know someone properly though, I become much more expressive and comfortable.
Curious how this personality type is usually perceived from a woman’s perspective.
