Bought a battery on AliExpress for 99¢ for laughs, and it actually showed up
What do now?
ETA: I was just randomly checking out the eco worthy stuff on AliExpress when I saw an inverter/battery combo listed for 99¢. I’ve seen all sorts of scammy looking stuff on there but this listing said 500+ sold, but only 1 available. I don’t even know what made me attempt it, but I told my wife about it after I recieved a valid fedex tracking number that showed it was a 100lb package that was actually moving thru their system, and we agreed that even if I got 100lb of bricks in a box it was fine because 100lb of basically anything is worth more than a dollar 😅
This is just die deterioration, right?
It caught my naked eye in a handful of change enough to look closer, but like the title says, I think it’s just deterioration, yeah?
I’ve made the first step
And it’s already going well!
I’ve been seeing crows around my work for a couple years, and last week saw one hanging around one of our big landscape rocks when I showed up in the morning. Left a pile of peanuts, but they just sat there all day.
Today he/she was there again, so I left peanuts again, and within about 15 minutes they were back, and they even brought a friend!
I’m so excited to make some friends 😁
Theatrical VS Extended
Here’s a topic I don’t ever seem to see discussed and I’m curious about people’s opinions
Let me preface by saying I am a huge fan of the extended editions, being a LOTR nerd, and it’s likely I’ll only ever watch the extended editions moving forward
BUT
having lived my life only ever watching the theatrical releases until a couple of years ago, I’m pretty familiar with them, and when I finally bought the extended set and watched them….
Am I the only person who ever thinks that they just aren’t the same finished product as the theatrical releases? Again, I love them, but IMO a good number of the added scenes stick out like a sore thumb. I can easily live with it, but if someone has never seen the movies, I always say they should watch the theatrical releases first. Just because they’re so well put together.
🤷🏻♂️
Is my unit toast?
Picked up this unit for cheap a few years ago to put in our singular added on upstairs office, central air doesn’t cool it almost at all due to sun soak and poorly engineered hvac ducting.
Cools great when it works, but sometimes the compressor wouldn’t kick on. After letting it sit it would always come back on, but recently instead of just not doing anything, it would make a humming noise and dim the lights on that electrical circuit, obviously something’s not right.
I tested the run capacitor, and it seems to test ok. Should I assume the compressor is toast?
Just opened the cover and saw more than 6 dimes, so I bought it for $30. Was pleasantly surprised when I got to the car and opened it up!
It’s too bad they feel so emboldened that they’ll go out like this all alone
