Can the latest “House of Horrors” be referred to as something else??

Sorry, but the infamous House of Horrors was Gary Heidnik’s. Anyone who remembers the unfolding of that story in 1988 knows what I’m talking about. House of Horrors was emblazoned on the front page of every local, and even national, newspaper. There has to be another name to refer to this demonic duo.

How to deal with a friend who is constantly one-upping me?

It’s so annoying, like all the time. She’s a super competitive person and I feel like everything is a challenge to her. I usually just let it go without saying anything but I just find it ridiculous and hard to have conversations with her. Advice?

Methamazole and gallbladder issues

I went to the ER today swearing I had congestive heart failure. I had so many symptoms – shortness of breath, bloating, a dry, cough, and weight gain. I had a chest x-ray, and EKG, CT scan with contrast and blood tests. Basically everything came out normal, except my lipase was a little bit high, which wasn’t concerning to the doctor. After doing a deep dive on ChatGPT, it kept coming back to either my gallbladder or pancreas. I feel like I remember some warnings about taking methimazole and potential gallbladder issues. It’s Saturday so I can’t see my primary doctor to ask for imaging of my gallbladder and/or abdomen so until then I started eating a low-fat diet, eating tiny meals, every two hours or so, and drinking peppermint or ginger tea. The bloating is just so out of control and I feel like it’s making me short of breath and so uncomfortable. Has anyone else experienced this?

For reference I was diagnosed with Graves last year and have been on methimazole since January 2025 and have taper down to a microdose of half of a .25 that I take twice a day and I’m only doing that twice a week. As of this week, labs are all within normal range now. My doctor asked me if I wanted to try to go off methimazole but I don’t think it’s a good idea since my labs have only been within normal limits for six months. I think that may be too early.

AIO - My neighbor asked me to take down my ring camera because it makes him uncomfortable

I’m recently divorced with 3 young kids and share custody with my ex-husband who is an abusive asshole. I had cameras mounted in the front and back of the house I’m renting because he’s been known to semi- stalk and I don’t trust him. As a young mom, I feel safer having the cameras not only because of my ex, but just in general.

I haven’t lived here long or gotten to know many of my neighbors. I’m pretty quiet and generally keep to myself anyway. The other day the neighbor behind me knocked on my door and said he noticed my back house ring camera was pointed in the direction of his house and he’d like me to move it because I’m able to see his house and yard. My camera is drilled into the siding so it’s not like I can easily move it. I explained my situation about my ex and assured him I wasn’t interested in his house or yard but he was still upset that I wasn’t going to move it.

For background - this dude is known to be very particular about his property and has a reputation for being territorial and has had run-ins with other neighbors. I don’t want any trouble with him but I also feel that the safety of me and my kids outweighs his concerns. I’m still left with wondering if he has a point and if I should move my camera.

Seats get hot like the heated seat button is on, even though it’s not

My 2019 Outback driver seat will get hot at random times. It’s mostly during the warmer summer months so I’m not sure if the seat coils are triggered by the outdoor heat. Even after the interior is cooled down by the AC they still heat up.

Affordable off the beaten path close to Jackson places to eat

I’ll be staying in downtown Jackson June 2-8 and plan to see as much of the area as possible. Recommendations for good food that won’t break the bank and isn’t crazy crowded with tourists is appreciated. Also, any travel tips or attractions to see outside of the usual things would be great. Thank you!
