Yesterday I shared a video about the soapbox racing game I've been working on, some you loved it, some you hated it, but it seems like most found it funny enough so today I'm sharing the news with the community.

The demo is out on Steam so you can play it on Windows and Mac, including split-screen multiplayer.

I've been working on this game, inspired by Red Bull Soapbox Races, and this is one of my favorite combos.

Is it time for a video game inspired by Red Bull Soapbox races? I'm a fan of these kind of races and have been working on this game for a while. How can I get Red Bull to see this and maybe sponsor? or am I too crazy :(? My apologies if this is not the right place to post about this. 🙏🏽

I've been working on this first-person view for Soapboxed and I predict this will be one of the funniest additions to the game 😂

The sense of speed feels completely different when you're sitting inside the soapbox. Every bump, jump, near miss and crash suddenly feels way more intense.

Experiencing it from the driver's seat is on another level.

I'm still polishing it, but I wanted to share a little preview because it's already creating some hilarious moments during testing.

If you haven't seen Soapboxed before, it's a chaotic multiplayer soapbox racing game where the goal isn't necessarily to win... It's to make your opponent lose

Soapbox races in first-person view... what could possibly go wrong? 😂 (Watch until the end)

I was watching Cool Runnings and saw a scene where they crash at top speed from a first-person perspective.

That got me thinking: this could make my soapbox racing game absolutely hilarious.

What do you think? 

After getting really useful feedback from you all, I started gathering a new set of screenshots for Soapboxed.

You told me that:
- The previous screenshots didn’t give players enough context.
- The game itself wasn’t very clear from the images.
- Some screenshots were good, but could be much stronger.
- The previous set lacked composition.

So I went back and tried to improve all of that.

What do you think about this new set? Does it give you that fun, chaotic, comic-style feeling the game is aiming for?

I’m preparing the game for its Steam launch, adding more visual variety and making it even more fun with new cars, characters, and tracks.

I honestly think online multiplayer is the feature that could make this game 10x better, so that’s what I’ll be tackling after launch.

I wanted to sell my game but didn’t have a Steam page yet (which costs $100). So I started thinking about this: Can the game itself make those $100?

Then something magical happened.

I started offering early copies of the game to friends and people on the internet who had been engaging with my posts and following the development journey.

And little by little, they started supporting the project.

Some bought the game early. Some donated a few dollars. Some simply shared the posts and helped more people discover it.

And somehow… together we actually funded the Steam page 😭

Soapbox cars, bad driving physics, and internet strangers really made this happen.

The Steam page will be launching soon, and every single person who helped support the game this early will have their name in the credits because this genuinely would not have happened without them.

Sometimes when you’re building something, it feels like nobody cares. But there are people out there who really do want to see you win.
